AYDA needs help to support the development of young people from all backgrounds, particularly women and girls, through education, training and family programmes.

As a small volunteer-run charity, AYDA does not have the expertise to create an impactful social media presence. This is especially the case with LinkedIn which we believe to be pivotal in identifying and engaging with potential partners across the UK. This would enable our programmes to be rolled out more widely and so gain more traction.

Most urgently we need someone to work directly with the Chair, Lucy Njomo, to create a powerful profile for the charity. LinkedIn does offer support to "not for profit" organisations, but we have neither the knowledge nor the capabilities within the board of trustees to take advantage of this. We are seeking a confident professional who can take on the challenge of projecting AYDA and its critical work much more effectively to like-minded groups who could and should be working with us to tackle VAWG in society.

We also know that networking via LinkedIn will be fundamental in fuelling a separate initiative to build youth education and vocational training centre in Cameroon. Land and official permission have already been acquired so now we need to build the consortium to deliver this critical initiative.

The desired individual should therefore be able to build a powerful profile and the network visibility we need to bring these vital initiatives into the spotlight to attract both funding and delivery partners.

What are we looking for?

The ideal person to help us will be very comfortable in the social media world, particularly the use of LinkedIn to build strong B2B networks and relationships. Ideally they would also have some third sector experience in creating powerful charity profiles. Since this is an unpaid role, it is likely that the individual would have a personal passion for combatting VAWG in all sections of UK society and/or creating youth development opportunities in one of the poorest countries in sub-Saharan Africa.

Understanding of the capabilities of LinkedIn as a platform in general and its support structure for charitable organisations is critical.

What difference will you make?

We accept that we do not have the ability to maximise the potential offered by platforms such as LinkedIn. So, although we welcome advice, we urgently need someone to take on the challenge of turning that into positive actions to empower both the UK VAWG and Cameroon youth development initiatives.

Within the UK the specific impact goals are to:

• Create awareness and provide information about various forms of violence against women and girls. Educate target audiences about the prevalence and impact of VAWG on individuals, families and communities.
• Promote gender equality, by challenging harmful gender norms, fostering respectful relationships, and creating safe environments for women and girls.
• Introduce VAWG survivors to local support services such as helplines, shelters, counselling centres and legal aid organisations.
• Provide education and resources to engage men as allies and promote healthy masculinity. Encourage them as to challenge sexist attitudes and behaviours within their communities.
• Explore ways to support and empower survivors of VAWG. This can include trauma-informed approaches, self-care strategies, and opportunities for economic empowerment.
• Collaboration with key stakeholders in building partnerships to enhance communities’ positive response to VAWG. Highlight the significance of collaborations with government agencies, NGOs, law enforcement, health care providers and educational institutions.

For Cameroon the impact will come from opening doors to potential international funding, construction and delivery partners for the vocational training centre.

About the Role

The HR Programme Manager is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the HR Programme and managing the HR Liaison. This position ensures the successful delivery of the HR Programme, aligning it with organisational goals and fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth. The Programme Manager will work closely with senior leadership, Heads of Department (HoDs), and the HR Liaison to design, implement, and refine the programme, ensuring it meets the needs of participants and the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Oversight of the HR Programme

• Develop and execute the strategic vision for the HR Programme, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
• Collaborate with the Director: HRBP, Legal, IT & HR Programme to define programme goals, KPIs, and success metrics.
• Continuously evaluate and refine the programme to address emerging needs and industry trends.

2. Team Leadership & Management

• Manage and mentor the HR Liaison, providing guidance and support to ensure effective programme execution.
• Foster a collaborative and results-driven team culture, encouraging innovation and accountability.

3. Stakeholder Engagement

• Build and maintain strong relationships with Heads of Department (HoDs) and external partners to ensure programme relevance and impact.
• Act as the primary point of contact for senior stakeholders, providing regular updates on programme progress and outcomes.

4. Programme Design & Implementation

• Oversee the design and delivery of HR Programme content, ensuring it meets the developmental needs of participants.
• Coordinate with internal and external facilitators to deliver high-quality training sessions, workshops, and resources.
• Ensure the integration of feedback from participants and stakeholders to enhance programme effectiveness.

5. Monitoring & Evaluation

• Establish a robust monitoring and evaluation framework to track participant progress and programme impact.
• Analyse data to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare comprehensive reports for senior leadership, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations.

6. Communication & Advocacy

• Promote the HR Programme across the organisation, ensuring high visibility and engagement.
• Develop communication strategies to highlight success stories and programme benefits.

Description

You'll be raising awareness, & improving understanding of sight loss through delivering RNIB’s Awareness to Action sessions in your local community. Through these engaging sessions, you'll inspire participants to make small changes to their behaviour that make a massive difference in the day-to-day lives of people with sight loss. As a Community Change Champion, this will involve:

• Talking directly with community leaders, businesses, & local groups about ways they can get involved & inviting them to join an Awareness to Action session.
• Delivering RNIB’s Awareness to Action sessions either in person or online, using our resources. You may do this on your own or with a team of other local volunteers, both sighted and with sight loss.
• Sharing RNIB’s information & initiatives so people know we’re here for them.

Event Fundraising Volunteer

Role Description

Volunteers are incredibly important to Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity. We cannot achieve our mission without them. They help us reach a wider audience and spread our message to a more diverse group and help us raise vital funds to help communities in Greater Manchester.

Role Purpose

Fundraising Volunteers help us to deliver our portfolio of events throughout the year, across Greater Manchester. This may include helping with organising in the lead up to the event or helping at the actual event, and after. There are many different ways to volunteer with Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity.

Main Activities

Gala Dinner – every March we throw a HUGE bash for businesses in Greater Manchester, up to 400 people join us to raise funds for our work. It’s a lot of fun, but it’s also a lot of hard work and we need people to help on the night with selling raffle tickets, meeting and greeting guests, and generally ensuring the night runs smoothly.

Bus Pull – our annual Bus Pull brings together businesses and groups to pull a bus at Manchester Central to raise funds. It’s a great team building day and the element of competition always makes it a lively event. Duties may include signing in teams and ensuring they know when they are taking part, cheering on teams and generally helping the event run smoothly.

24 Hour Run – another key event on the Manchester calendar attracting over 1,000 participants to run laps of 5km around the city. We need help with signing in runners, organising the groups, cheering them on and welcoming them back and making them feel appreciated for all that they have done!

Winter Campaign – our annual Winter Campaign gains a lot of media interest locally. We are going to be growing this over the coming years with new opportunities for fundraising, this might include events, gatherings or other engagement plan.

What do we need from you?

Reliability – if you sign up as a volunteer please ensure you have the time and capacity to do so. We don’t want to add to your workload! Volunteering for Grater Manchester Mayor’s Charity should be fun and rewarding, not another thing on your ‘to do list’.

Happy to chat – our volunteers are our ‘front face’ at our events and we need to know that you are happy to do that. Of course, we will try to give you a role that takes advantage of your skills, but our events by their very nature are working with people!

Who We Are Looking For:

Travel Hands is seeking a Skilled Volunteer with expertise in Public Relations to help shape and implement a targeted PR strategy that raises awareness of their work. The ideal volunteer will have experience developing media strategies, crafting press materials, and engaging journalists to build consistent and positive media presence.

Project Brief:

Travel Hands has built strong community trust and meaningful partnerships but now needs dedicated PR expertise to amplify its story and impact through the media. The organisation connects visually impaired people (VIPs) with trained Guides for safe and enjoyable walks across London — a service already featured by Forbes, ESA Business Applications, and Ability Today. Despite completing over 1,300 successful journeys and seeing growing demand from VIPs, traditional volunteer recruitment methods have not proven effective, leading to a shortage of Guides. A structured PR strategy is essential to increase public awareness and help meet their need for volunteers.

The Skilled Volunteer will:

• Develop a PR strategy and media outreach plan – identifying key journalists, media outlets, and storytelling opportunities for Travel Hands.
• Create press materials – including press releases, media kits, and pitch templates that showcase success stories and partnerships.
• Provide PR training for the internal team – ensuring they can confidently continue proactive media efforts beyond the project.

Who You’ll Be Supporting:

Travel Hands is a London-based social enterprise on a mission to make cities more inclusive for people with visual impairments. By connecting VIPs with trusted Guides, the organisation enables safe, enjoyable, and independent journeys through the city. Their work not only promotes accessibility and confidence but also reduces social isolation and fosters genuine human connection.

Your Impact:

By helping Travel Hands amplify its story and attract new Guides, you in turn enable more VIPs to experience freedom, dignity and independence across London.

Please note: This Skilled Volunteer project is being recruited by Link UP London on behalf of Travel Hands. You must be based in the UK to apply. This project has an estimated time commitment of 2 hours per week for 3 months, totalling around 24 hours. LGIU is owned and governed by its members.  The current Board is composed of leaders and other senior elected members from our membership. As part of a set of wider governance changes, we are now seeking to augment our board with up to five external trustees.

As an external Trustee, you will join a collaborative and ambitious Board responsible for the strategic direction, governance and long-term sustainability of the charity and its subsidiaries. You will work alongside fellow trustees, the Chief Executive and Chief Operating Officer to help ensure LGIU continues to evolve, grow and deliver meaningful impact for councils and communities.

We are particularly interested in individuals who can bring strategic insight, external perspective and senior leadership experience in one or more of the following priority areas:

Public sector system leadership: Current or former senior leaders from local government, the NHS or wider public services, with experience of leading complex organisations through change, reform and uncertainty.

Business model development and commercialisation: Experience of organisational growth, partnerships, income diversification, membership models, commercial strategy or sustainable business development.

Technology and innovation: Expertise in digital transformation, AI, innovation, product development, technology-enabled change or future-focused organisational leadership.

These areas reflect the Board’s agreed strategic priorities as LGIU continues to evolve its model, expand its reach and strengthen its role as a partner for change across the sector.

We would also welcome candidates with expertise in communications and marketing, workforce development, research, membership organisations or international collaboration.

• Signing customers up to Gift Aid scheme & inputting gift aid data if required
• Preparing donated goods for sale
• Ensuring recyclable goods are put in appropriate place
• Pricing as outlined by the shop manager
• Display and merchandising (may include transferring items from one display to another)
• Stock control
• Sorting donated goods (this may include lifting or moving moderately heavy items such as sacks of donated clothes or boxes containing books in some areas)
• Light cleaning duties and using an iron or steamer to press donated clothes

For coffee shops only:

• Operating coffee machines, serving customers and clearing and wiping down tables
• Ensure good food hygiene, health and safety and fire regulations are adhered to at all times

Training & supervision

• All required training, including till operation, gift aid and health & safety will be provided.
• For coffee shops you will be required to undertake online food hygiene training courses.

Knowledge & experience required

• Some customer service experience would be advantageous
• Ability to remain calm while listening to a customer complaint

Description

You'll be raising awareness, & improving understanding of sight loss through delivering RNIB’s Awareness to Action sessions in your local community. Through these engaging sessions, you'll inspire participants to make small changes to their behaviour that make a massive difference in the day-to-day lives of people with sight loss. As a Community Change Champion, this will involve:

• Talking directly with community leaders, businesses, & local groups about ways they can get involved & inviting them to join an Awareness to Action session.
• Delivering RNIB’s Awareness to Action sessions either in person or online, using our resources. You may do this on your own or with a team of other local volunteers, both sighted and with sight loss.
• Sharing RNIB’s information & initiatives so people know we’re here for them.
• If you have a personal link to sight loss, sharing your experience during the session to help give a tangible example of how local people can make a real difference.
• Telling us about any activities you have engaged in via a Microsoft form.

We’re looking for trustees

We’re looking to recruit dynamic, committed and motivated people with professional skills and experience who are as passionate as we are about empowering individuals to work through and beyond their experience of sexual abuse.

Specific qualifications are not necessarily required and we welcome applicants with lived experience. A genuine interest in learning about our charity and our services within the local community is essential.

These trustees will help to form a new board dedicated to supporting the charity and contributing to the effective and quality governance of Trust House. You will play an active role in developing the strategic direction of the charity and provide guidance to ensure the charity continues to support anyone affected by rape or sexual abuse in the Thames Valley area.

About the role: 
 
We are looking for people to help lead some our teams across the organisation. We are volunteer led and manage 65+ volunteers across the country, most of them remoately. There are 10 different teams ranging from creative to business development. We are looking for up to 10 people to help with the coordination of feedback, delegation of tasks and assisting with running monthly meetings. We have a very diverse team of volunteers from all different culture, religons and disabilities.
