- Sorting, steaming, tagging and preparing donated items for sale
- Creating visually appealing window and in-store displays
- Keeping the shop floor well stocked, clean and coordinated
- Processing sales and serving at the till

Role Overview.
As our Director of Content, you will play a vital leadership role in shaping and overseeing our content strategy, ensuring that Bank.Green's messaging is impactful, cohesive, and aligned with our mission. Success in this role means managing a team of social media contributors, ensuring content quotas are met, and maintaining the quality and consistency of our published materials. You’ll oversee various content initiatives, from social media to newsletters and blogs, and provide guidance on ad hoc website content updates. Your work will help amplify our impact, inspire meaningful action from our community, and drive the movement for sustainable banking.
Commitment
This role is currently volunteer-based, and we are seeking a commitment of 5-10 hours per week. We are looking for somebody to join us long-term but are open to shorter-term applicants
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the social media team, ensuring monthly posting quotas are met and content aligns with our overarching strategy.
- Generate and refine content ideas in collaboration with the team to maintain engaging, impactful, and relevant messaging across platforms.
- Copyedit and approve the short monthly newsletter and occasional blog posts produced by the research team.
- Oversee and assist with miscellaneous content-related projects, including updates and improvements to website content.
- Monitor performance metrics across platforms to identify areas for improvement and inform future content strategies.
Desired Skills
- Proven experience in content strategy, editorial leadership, or a similar role.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Experience managing teams or working collaboratively across multiple contributors.

About the role
Our Medico-legal Report service relies heavily on volunteer and contractor Doctors who give need their time and skills to provide clinical assessments of torture and produce medico-legal reports on clients, documenting evidence of torture and ill-treatment, which are used as evidence in survivors’ asylum claim and other legal processes. Successful candidates will work in a team of doctors spread across all 4 centres, Glasgow, Newcastle, Manchester, and London. Some remote working is also possible.
You will have extensive clinical experience post-qualification as a doctor. Ideally, you will have completed post-graduate training in your speciality however, if you have not completed this, but you are able to demonstrate the skills and competencies listed in the Person Specification please get in touch to discuss.
Work patterns can be flexible but please kindly note that we would need you to be available on a regular basis.

Sense is a leading disability charity with extensive knowledge and expertise in delivering personalised, creative and flexible support for disabled people with complex needs. Our tailored approach ensures that every person is empowered to live fully at every stage of life.

What your role will involve
You’ll get the opportunity to get involved in a wide range of activities, including:
- Welcoming and assisting customers, providing great customer service, helping create a wonderful shopping experience.
- Receiving donated items from the public, thanking them for their support.
- Sorting, steaming and preparing donations for sale.
- Helping to display stock in eye-catching and exciting ways.

- Serve customers on the till in a warm and friendly way.

As a community champion volunteer you’ll be supporting Sense’s fundraising team, playing a vital role in helping Sense to raise funds and awareness to support people with complex disabilities.
You’ll engage with individuals, local businesses, and regional press to share our mission, organise events, and inspire others to take action. Whether you’re great at planning events, researching opportunities or connecting with your community, this role has something for you.
This is a flexible role, with the opportunity to volunteer either virtually or in your local community. We are looking for volunteers able to offer a minimum commitment of 2 hours per month.
We’re looking for people who are passionate about Sense’s work to support disabled people with complex needs and who have a calm, kind and friendly personality.

- Helping us to source prizes for Sense fundraising events.

- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently.
- Organised, ensuring new leads are accurately recorded and shared.
Community connector:
Act as an ambassador for Sense, attending events across your community to thank supporters, and forge new partnerships.
- Attending cheque presentations, thanking our supporters.
- Giving presentations about Sense to local schools and community groups.
- Engaging with local businesses and groups, to forge new relationships for Sense.
