About the organisation:
The Sweaty Betty Foundation exists to remove the barriers that prevent women and girls from participating in physical activity. Through strategic grant-making, partnerships, co-designed programmes and sector collaboration, they support organisations creating meaningful change for teenage girls facing the greatest inequalities. Guided by a commitment to “Listen to Girls”, they place young women’s voices at the heart of everything they do.

The Opportunity:
As Chair, you will provide inclusive, strategic leadership to the Board, ensuring the Foundation delivers maximum impact through strong governance, clear accountability, and an unwavering commitment to equity and inclusion. Working closely with the Director and Trustees, you will help steer the organisation’s future while championing the voices and experiences of girls who are often furthest from opportunity.

About You:
We’re seeking an experienced and collaborative leader who brings:

• Previous Chair, Trustee, Board or senior governance experience
• Strong understanding of governance, risk management and strategic leadership
• A genuine commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion
• Outstanding relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills
• The confidence to provide both support and constructive challenge
• Passion for improving outcomes for girls and young women

Experience within the charity, social impact, sport, health, education or gender-equity sectors would be highly valuable, although we welcome candidates from a broad range of backgrounds whose skills and perspectives can strengthen the Board.

About BABCP: The British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) is a charity and the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in the UK and Ireland. We are a membership body with around 27,000 members and as a professional organisation we promote, improve and uphold standards of CBT practice, supervision and training. Our CBT Register is accredited by the Professional Standards Authority. What we are looking for?: We are looking for one new lay person to join our Board as ‘Lay Trustee Director’, meaning you will be both a trustee of the charity and a director of the company. Our Board is made up of ten Trustee Directors who are elected from within BABCP’s membership and up to three Lay Trustee Directors. We are looking for a Lay Trustee Director with a proven track record of excellence in their field, who can bring fresh perspectives and experience from other professional sectors and walks of life.

You should:

· Be able to take important decisions using sound, objective reasoning and with good attention to detail.

· Be willing to ask questions and constructively challenge the status quo.

· Be able to think creatively and strategically, while being committed to operating with integrity.

· Have the capacity to devote time and effort to the role.

· Understand the responsibilities of the position.

· Not be barred from acting as charity trustee or company director (further eligibility declarations and checks will be required if appointed).

We particularly welcome applicants with skills and expertise in IT and/or Human Resources.

We recognise that skills and experience come in many forms, and that some groups have traditionally faced barriers in accessing formal opportunities. While we are looking to bring fresh ‘lay’ perspectives to our Board, if you are one of the millions of people who have direct or indirect lived experience of CBT and related therapies, you may find this experience helps to bring the value of this role to life.

What will you be doing?: As a Trustee Director you will, as part of the wider Board, oversee the organisational structures, systems, policies and resources in place to achieve the charitable objects of the Association. You will help ensure that BABCP exclusively pursues its stated purpose against a defined strategy and in compliance with its governing document and relevant legislation and regulation. You will attend our Board meetings, reviewing all Board papers in advance. You may also be asked to participate in additional committees or working groups focused on specific themes areas, taking into account your areas of expertise and interest where possible.

The role is voluntary and unpaid, though travel and approved out-of-pocket expenses will be covered.

How you will you make a difference?: There are very few in the UK and Ireland who are not affected by the consequences of mental health difficulties. By volunteering your expertise and experience with BABCP, you will ultimately be helping to improve the mental wellbeing of those nations and to protect the public who are directly or indirectly impacted by mental health issues.

Behind every successful charity is an organised administrative core. We are looking for a Secretary & Admin Lead to keep our operations running smoothly. You will work closely with the Charity Manager to manage digital documentation, coordinate meetings, and keep our small team connected.

At RSPCA Buckinghamshire South Branch, our charity shops are looking for friendly, local volunteers to join our team and help make our shops in Chesham and Burnham a huge success. Make new friends, have fun, and help us help more animals!

As a volunteer Charity Shop Assistant, you would join a small team working with the shop manager and 1-2 other volunteers to help make it a success and raise vital funds for animal welfare.

What We’re Looking For:

• Friendly, local volunteers who are confident talking to people.
• Retail experience would be ideal but is not necessary as full training will be given.
• We are ideally aiming for someone who is flexible and can offer an ongoing commitment, preferably 8 hours per week.
• Good communication skills and numeracy skills. 
• You will need to be aged 16 or over.

Treasurer Trustee

Join the Board of Blue Smile 

• Board meetings are held 6 times a year, online

• Finance Committee – meetings are held six times a year, online 

• Occasional in-person meetings/events - including strategy review and planning day once per year, in person

About the Role 

As Treasurer Trustee, you will be the Board's lead on financial governance and oversight, working closely with fellow trustees and the Charity Director. The role is strategic rather than operational and focuses on ensuring good financial management, sustainability and compliance. 

You will: 

• Support the Board in understanding and fulfilling its financial responsibilities.

• Chair finance committee meetings. 

• Review management accounts and monitor financial performance.

• Oversee budgeting, reserves and financial planning.

• Help identify and manage financial risks.

• Support the approval of annual accounts and financial reports, including the independent examination. 

• Ensure the charity's resources are used effectively in pursuit of its charitable objectives.

• Contribute to the strategic direction of Blue Smile 

Who We're Looking For 

We would love to hear from you if you have: 

• A professional background in finance, accounting, banking, auditing or financial management.

• Experience of budgeting, financial reporting and financial oversight.

• The ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial audiences.

• Strong analytical skills and sound judgement.

• An interest in supporting children's mental health and wellbeing.

• A recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent) and/or previous charity experience would be advantageous, but we welcome applications from individuals with transferable financial expertise.
