We are recruiting Board Directors/Members with lived and/or professional experience in one or more of the following areas: 

• Practising contemporary dance artist who works across performance, health or community settings 

• Contemporary dance producer / project manager / artistic director or involved in creative health 

• Disability arts creative / producer / director 

• Legal expertise – understanding of charity law, employment law, company law, compliance and governance frameworks 

• Business development and income generation 

• Understanding of the principles we invest in that are guided by Arts Council England: Ambition & Quality, Dynamism, Environmental Responsibility and Inclusivity & Relevance 

• Leadership experience in FRONTLINEdance’s areas of work: clinical, education and community settings; arts / dance sector; within not-for-profit organisations and/or charities 

• Experience of either touring, disability arts, screen dance, performance and faciliation in clinical, education and community settings, dance and dDDN advocacy, creative health, commissioning and supporting disabled artists 

• Leading teams and steering companies strategically

We are looking for friendly and enthusiastic Activity Volunteers to support our growing range of social groups and activities for people with sight loss.

Our groups provide valuable opportunities for people to socialise, build confidence and enjoy a range of activities, including seated exercise, quizzes, guest speakers and other social and creative activities.

As an Activity Volunteer, you will help create a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone feels comfortable, supported and able to get involved.

• Welcome and support people attending our groups and activities.

Who we are

Children with Voices started over 20 years ago with one woman, a community hall and a belief that no child in Hackney should be forgotten. Our founder Michelle began with a Winter Wonderland for local children at London Fields School, covered by the Hackney Gazette, after being named Family Mosaic Inspirational Tenant of the Year. She has not stopped since.

Today we are a registered charity at Fawcett Estate Community Hall in Clapton, running a Community Food Hub, Jumping Beans, SEND support, alternative education and work in local schools. Over 100,000 children and families have come through our doors. Our work has been featured on BBC, ITV and Channel 4, and we have been recognised with a Pride of Britain Award and a Points of Light Award. What we are proudest of is that families still knock on our door knowing someone will answer.

What you will be doing

• Helping coordinate day to day operations across our programmes so the week runs smoothly

• Reviewing our processes and suggesting where we could work better with what we already have

• Keeping our policy library current, including safeguarding, data protection and health and safety

• Helping prepare clear information for our CEO and Trustees so they can see how things are running

• Flagging anything that looks like a compliance or safeguarding risk, promptly and to the right person

Our volunteers play a vital role in helping halow’s young people enjoy new experiences, build friendships, and take part in activities they love. As an Arts & Crafts Volunteer, you’ll support our young people as they explore a variety of creative activities, including drawing, painting, pottery, and sculpture. When children finish Year 6 in our primary programme, many of them don't want the music to stop. So we have started an evening youth club to keep it going. It runs in partnership with Youth Connect South West, and the Police Early Intervention Team back it because they see music as a practical tool against gang recruitment and knife crime. We need musicians or singers who want to teach instruments and support creative projects with young people in their community.

About the role

Orchestra of Everything Foundation (OOEF) delivers free, immersive music education to around 250 children aged 7–11 at two Bath primary schools in Twerton and Whiteway — nationally ranked deprived communities. Our impact is off the scale: school leaders tell us that 86% of children show improved attitudes to learning across all subjects, and we have been instrumental in a 39% reduction in pupil suspensions. Our work has caught the attention of the Department for Education, and Bath Spa University now incorporates our model into teacher training.

The youth club runs in partnership with Youth Connect South West and is endorsed by the Police Early Intervention Team and the Bath & North East Somerset Violence Reduction Partnership — who see music as a frontline tool against gang recruitment and knife crime.

As a Youth Club Music Leader you will draw on your musical skills to teach instruments, support group projects, and help young people develop creatively and socially. You will work in teams with other musicians and youth workers. Formal teaching qualifications are not required.

Time commitment

Sheffield Humanists aim to provide a range of activities for non-religious people living in and around Sheffield to meet, socialise, campaign, raise awareness of humanism, participate in local civic life and support each other. The Local Group represents Humanists UK and the local humanist community at public events and in public forums. Sheffield Humanists is led by a team of volunteers that organises events and activities throughout the year.
