Samaritans is looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Fundraising Events Admin Volunteer to support our busy Community and Events Team. Your support will help us raise the vital funds needed to ensure people can access emotional support whenever they need it most.

What is the role?

As a Fundraising Events Admin Volunteer, you will play a key role in helping our team focus on delivering successful fundraising events and supporting our incredible fundraisers. From managing enquiries to sending out fundraising materials, you’ll help keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in events, fundraising, marketing, and supporter stewardship while making a meaningful difference.

This role will give you the opportunity to:

• Experience volunteering within a busy events team within a large UK charity.
• Develop strong communication skills working within a diverse network.
• Gain an insight into event marketing
• Support our Third-Party Events (TPE) fundraisers, taking part in events like London Marathon, Great North Run and Paris Marathon as well as fundraisers who take part in primarily virtual events, such as Dawn Walk and our Dog Walking Challenge.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Community and Events team to help us deliver our successful fundraising events and stewardship.
• Support our do your own thing (DYOT) and events fundraisers.
• Support with moderation and creating content to make our Stream for Samaritans, Discord server a warm and welcoming place.

Qualifications

Main Responsibilities/ Key Duties

• Plan, coordinate, and execute fundraising events, campaigns, and community initiatives, both in-person and virtual.
• Develop event concepts and strategies aligned with the C.I.C’s mission, fundraising goals, and target audiences.
• Manage all event logistics, including venues, suppliers, volunteers, schedules, and budgets.
• Collaborate with the Fundraising Director to ensure events support broader fundraising strategies and income targets.
• Work with Content and Donor Communication Specialists to create promotional materials, event invitations, and campaign messaging.
• Coordinate with the Finance Liaison Officer and Data and Donor Relations Officer to track sponsorships, ticket sales, donations, and in-kind contributions.
• Ensure all events comply with safeguarding, health and safety, GDPR, and C.I.C policies.
• Recruit, brief, and manage volunteers supporting events, providing guidance and supervision as needed.
• Oversee post-event follow-up, including donor acknowledgement, surveys, and reporting to leadership.
• Monitor and evaluate event performance, providing recommendations for improvement and lessons learned for future activities.
• Maintain clear records of event budgets, attendance, outcomes, and feedback.
• Support community engagement and participation, ensuring events are inclusive, accessible, and reflective of C.I.C values.

This volunteer opportunity is perfect for anyone who enjoys being part of local community events and wants to make a meaningful difference for cats across the South West. As a fundraising events helper, you will support a range of enjoyable activities such as craft fairs, coffee mornings, quiz nights, county shows and supermarket collections. Your support at these events helps raise the vital funds needed to care for cats and kittens in need.

Every event you take part in truly makes a difference. Even small amounts go a long way. Just £5 can feed a cat in our care for 25 days, helping us provide the food, warmth and comfort they rely on.

You do not need previous experience. All you need is a friendly attitude, a willingness to get involved and an interest in helping cats. Whether you prefer setting up stalls, chatting to members of the public or supporting activities throughout the day, there is a place for you on the team. Any time you can give will help us continue our work and support cats who need it most.

This role is very flexible. You can choose to volunteer at a single event for a couple of hours or join multiple events throughout the year. We will keep you updated with upcoming opportunities so you can choose what suits you best.

Wherever you are based in the South West, you will have full support from your fellow volunteers and the Fundraising Hub team. They are always available to offer guidance, resources and encouragement.

We are looking for a volunteer with fundraising experience to lead and shape Act4Africa's fundraising activity,

In this role you will work remotely with our small team of interns and volunteers, and in conjunction with the Ugandan fundraising and communications team.

Reporting directly to the Board of Trustees, you will have the opportunity to

• Build skills in fundraising strategy, volunteer leadership and charity governance
• Make a direct impact on programmes supporting young people and communities in Uganda

Your key responsibilities will be:

• Fundraising strategy & income generation
• Supporter care and communications
• Volunteer and intern coordination
• Administration and compliance

· Experience

• Experience coordinating volunteers and/or interns, ideally within a charity or community setting.
• Experience of digital fundraising and supporter engagement
• Experience using databases or CRM systems

Skills and abilities

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to build rapport with a wide range of people
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple activities and priorities
• Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and exercise sound judgement.
• Confident in using IT systems (Office 365, MailChimp, Justgiving, CRM and online meeting tools).

Knowledge

• Understanding of best practice in volunteer management, including safeguarding and safer recruitment.
• Awareness of UK charity fundraising standards and regulations (e.g. Code of Fundraising Practice).

Our sensors track water quality parameters like dissolved oxygen and temperature in real time, while data analytics optimize feeding schedules to reduce waste and detect early signs of fish stress. By combining resilient physical infrastructure with digital intelligence, we empower farmers to increase productivity, improve survival rates, and promote responsible management of aquatic environments.

Role Description:

• Identify and pursue grants, impact investment, sponsorships, and donor funding opportunities.
• Build and maintain relationships with NGOs, government agencies, foundations, corporate partners, and impact investors.
• Prepare compelling proposals, pitch decks, and funding applications.
• Develop and implement fundraising strategies aligned with organizational goals and social impact metrics.
• Track and report on funding performance, donor engagement, and partnership outcomes.
• Collaborate with internal teams to quantify impact, collect data, and demonstrate program effectiveness to funders.
• Represent the organization at networking events, conferences, and fundraising forums.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Development Studies, Social Entrepreneurship, or related field.
• Proven experience in fundraising, grants management, or partnerships in the nonprofit or social enterprise sector.
• Strong writing, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to craft compelling narratives about social impact and sustainability.
• Familiarity with impact metrics, monitoring, and evaluation is a plus.
• Self-motivated, strategic thinker, and team player with a passion for social impact.
