What you will be doing

• Activity Organisers - Love planning? Help coordinate amazing events like charity dinners, carol concerts, and local fairs.
• Event Champions - Be the friendly face of SSAFA! Help at events, chat with visitors, sell merchandise, and spread the word about our work.
• Promoting SSAFA Services - Help provide a warm, welcoming presence at Veterans Breakfast clubs, cafes or hubs - offering information about SSAFA services and signposting as appropriate.
• SSAFA Storytellers -Deliver engaging talks to organisations and groups, sharing SSAFA’s incredible history and mission.
• Community Connectors - Collaborating with the Community Engagement Manager to establish a local network, promote SSAFA's services, and respond to community opportunities such as gardening projects.
• Fundraising Heroes - Whether it’s rallying local businesses, organising events, or getting creative with unique fundraising ideas, you’ll play a crucial role in keeping SSAFA’s support going strong.
• Administrators - Are you detail-oriented and love keeping things organised? Assist with branch and event administration, manage schedules and branch calendars, and ensure everything runs smoothly currently being undertaken.

• Confident to engage with the public, potential clients, volunteers and SSAFA colleagues face-to-face.
• Reliable attitude, staying connected with your Branch and/or Community Engagement Manager about your availability.

What we need from you

This is a really flexible role – you can choose what you’d like to get involved with, for example:

• face-to-face fundraising. Organising or helping with fundraising events, running supermarket collections and fundraising stands, monitoring collection tins 
• online fundraising. Setting up online appeals and writing impactful cat case studies that maximise donations
• marketing. Spreading the word about our fundraising activities, for example on social media and with the local press
• completing administration. Processing donations, sorting and recording donated goods, completing Gift Aid paperwork
• championing our work. Getting involved with developing new fundraising ideas and increasing community engagement
• photography. Capturing images of cats in care, cats we are helping, events and all things Cats Protection
• You’ll need to be aged 18+ to volunteer in this role. If you’re aged 16-17, you’ll need to be supervised by a friend, family member, or guardian over the age of 18 in order to carry out any fundraising activity.

Time expectation

This is a flexible role that can fit around your other commitments to suit you. You’ll be part of a team raising vital funds while having fun in the process!

Our fundraising team leaders have the exciting and varied role of inspiring our fundraising volunteers to plan and deliver local fundraising events. Using their passion and imagination, they oversee a small team of fundraising volunteers who come together to raise the vital funds needed to cover costs such as veterinary bills and food. You will develop new skills, expand your knowledge and make a significant contribution to improving the lives of cats and kittens by helping raise funds and awareness through organising local events. You will also meet new people, make new friends and be part of a dedicated team of volunteers. You will be supported and guided from our National Cat Centre and through our regional and local volunteer groups and teams. We offer engaging online and face-to-face training, expenses and have policies and processes to help volunteers get the most out of their time with us.

We're looking for someone with the following:

· Great people skills and the ability to bring out the best in others

· Excellent organisational skills

· The ability to prioritise and delegate

· An appreciation of the importance of handling money and charity resources responsibly

· Fine-tuned communication skills and a passion for engaging with people within your local community

· Basic IT skills to use Cats Protection systems - training and support can be provided

· Committee volunteers need to be aged 18+

Our fundraising team leaders usually spend three to four hours per week in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed.

Volunteer Campaign, Creator and Activity Support Manager

(UK Based - Remote)

Our Story

Influential Stars was founded by Lisa Connell, who is living with an inoperable brain tumour and has spent many years raising awareness and support for UK causes. The platform was created from a deeply personal belief that influence, connection, and community can be powerful forces for good when brought together in the right way.

Volunteers play a vital role in helping turn that vision into real world impact, enabling experiences that raise funds, create joy for winners, and support charitable organisations across the UK.

The Role

We are seeking a proactive, organised and supportive Volunteer Campaign, Creator and Activity Support Manager to oversee new registrations, support Creators from onboarding through to campaign completion, upload new experiences to the platform and assist with live campaigns.

This role focuses on ensuring new Creators and Collaborators receive a smooth, welcoming and professional experience, that experiences are accurately uploaded and maintained, and that live campaigns receive the support needed to run successfully.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage new Creator and Collaborator registrations from initial application through to onboarding and next steps

• Review registration information, follow up where anything is missing and ensure records are kept up to date in the CRM

• Guide new Creators and Collaborators through the registration and onboarding process, including selecting their cause, campaign and experience where appropriate

• Arrange, support and conduct introductory or campaign setup calls where appropriate.

• Upload new experiences to the Influential Stars platform, ensuring descriptions, pricing, links, images and key details are accurate

• Regularly review live experiences and update or remove listings where pricing, availability or exclusions have changed

• Send approved welcome emails, registration communications and onboarding information using existing templates

• Arrange and support introductory or campaign setup calls where appropriate

• Monitor and support all live campaigns on the platform

• Liaise with creators throughout the live campaign period to provide encouragement, guidance, and practical support

• Schedule, diarise, and send campaign communications using approved templates

• Coordinate with internal team members when campaigns go live

• Provide reminders, tips, and prompts to help creators maximise engagement

• Respond to creator enquiries and provide assistance as needed

• Conduct support calls where appropriate

• Maintain accurate records of communications and campaign progress using our CRM management system

• Ensure all tasks are completed in a timely and professional manner

Skills and Experience Required

Essential:

• Strong customer service experience

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Confidence using computers and online systems

• Experience using a CRM or similar database system

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to manage multiple tasks independently

• Supportive, positive, and professional approach

• Reliable and proactive working style

Desirable:

• Familiarity with HubSpot CRM (preferred but not essential as training will be provided)

• Experience uploading products, listings or content to a website or online platform

Although this is currently a volunteer position, Influential Stars is actively working to grow the platform with the long term aim of creating paid roles. While we are unable to provide a timeframe and future opportunities will depend on the organisation’s growth and incoming work, this role offers the chance to be part of that journey from an early stage.

We are looking for a Community Engagement & Accountability Officer who is responsible for assisting in the implementation of integration activities and projects and ensuring that the needs and opinions of Second Tree community members are used to guide our work.

Your role would include:

• Creating timelines and coordinating plans for community engagement events

• Summarising relevant data collection in reports and project deliverables

• Communicating with community members and building trusting relationships

• Managing the organisation of proposals and other documents created by the CEA team

• Maintaining necessary records, files, reports, databases, and resource materials for the CEA team

• Researching information and gathering data necessary for community reporting

• Working with the wider Second Tree team to ensure that all community engagement events and projects align with organisational and programme strategies

• Supporting the CEA team by ensuring good levels of engagement with the community during activities and projects.

You should be able to:

• Be flexible with changing approaches and processes dependent on adjusting needs and contexts

• Oversee the delivery of program activities and the completion of vital administrative and logistical tasks

• Be accountable and efficient, making sure that tasks that you take up are completed in the agreed timeframe

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience in integrating meaningful community participation premised on thorough needs assessments

• Experience in maintaining and monitoring effective feedback mechanisms

• Experience in integrating community perspectives into planning, evaluation, and reporting of community engagement projects and events

• Training in facilitating focus groups and interviews;

• Knowledge of European projects and deliverables

• Familiarity with project management

• Proficiency in excel and quantitative data collection

Volunteer Social Media Manager

Giant Football Community Walk

Location: Remote

Time Commitment: Flexible, approximately 3 to 5 hours per week

The Giant Football Community Walk is looking for a volunteer Social Media Manager to help promote our 2026 event and engage with football supporters, clubs, foundations and supporter groups across the North West.

The event will bring together supporters from across the football pyramid for a 42km or 21km community walking challenge. Participants will represent their clubs, raise money for good causes and celebrate the positive role football plays within local communities.

What You’ll Do

• Manage and grow our Facebook and Instagram accounts

• Create and schedule social media content

• Promote participating clubs, supporter groups and charities

• Help recruit walkers, volunteers and supporters

• Respond to messages and engage with online communities

• Share participant stories, fundraising updates and event news

What We’re Looking For

You do not need professional marketing experience.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has good written communication skills

• Is confident using Facebook and Instagram

• Is organised and reliable

• Understands football culture and supporter communities

• Wants to contribute to a positive community event

The impact you will make:

By supporting local and national fundraising activity, you will help ensure that NCI stations can continue to operate effectively. Your contribution will directly support the volunteers on watch who provide a crucial extra set of eyes along the coast, helping to prevent incidents and assist emergency services when needed.

What you will be doing:

As a volunteer station supporter fundraiser, you will be involved in your stations fundraising activities, including:

• Attending local fundraising events and community activities organised by your station
• Manning stalls at events, shows, and public spaces
• Collecting, checking, and emptying donation boxes in agreed locations
• Assisting with simple fundraising initiatives organised by your local station
• Helping to promote NCI within the local community and encouraging public support

This role is ideal for someone looking to gain experience, confidence, and skills while supporting a coastal water safety charity. Would be beneficial to be located near to an NCI station, or reasonable travelling disctance from a station. Would need to hold a driving licence for travelling to and from events.
