This role is an opportunity to support an emerging artist to build confidence, develop their creative practice, and navigate the industry. We welcome mentors from all creative backgrounds, including design, fashion, film, animation, theatre, writing, music, dance, and more.  On this occasion we are seeking someone with experience in fashion, retail, styling, and voice performance, particularly those specialising in character driven performances for animation, gaming, audio dramas, and related media.

About the role

You’ll work one‑to‑one with a participant, offering guidance, industry insight, and practical support. You’ll help them set goals, explore opportunities, grow their networks, and develop their creative portfolio. We are looking for someone who understands and values the social model of disability and is committed to inclusive practice.

Social Media Manager

The Social Media Manager will focus on engaging and growing our social media presence. Currently focusing on Instagram and Tiktok. This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience with potential for massive results.

We currently have 6k+ IG followers, 1k+ FB, 1.3k+ LinkedIn, 7.8k+ Pinterest, and just starting on Tiktok. It will be your job to grow and engage this audience, regularly analyzing performance, identifying opportunities, and tweaking your strategy.

Prior experience not required but must have strong interests in sustainability, fashion, and gaining marketing experience. Must also be excited about social media and the opportunities it presents for both growth, engagement, and storytelling.

Looking for entrepreneurial candidates who are extremely driven and self-motivated.

The role in a nutshell:

We are looking for volunteers to help in our network of Age UK Cheshire shops throughout Cheshire. We have shops in Northwich, Macclesfield, Alderley Edge, Knutsford, Crewe, Ellesmere Port, Sandbach, Frodsham and Poynton. You will meet new people daily and have some fun while helping raise funds to help local older people in Cheshire.

What will you be doing?

Retail Volunteers carry out a wide range of tasks in our shop. You might be sorting and pricing stock, engaging with customers, ringing items through the till or keeping our shop floor full and organised. You will meet and assist customers while raising funds which go directly to helping older people in Cheshire. You will gain useful retail skills and work experience for a recognised, valued and effective charity.

How would you be supported in this role?

Our retail volunteers receive an initial induction into the work and policies of our charity and then specific training on tasks within the shop. 

Why do we need volunteers in this role?

Age UK Cheshire operates charity shops to raise funds for the delivery of services for older people in need in Cheshire. Volunteers play a key role in the shop team, ensuring our shops are welcoming places in the community and selling the items that are generously donated to our charity. 

What skills, interests or experience might be helpful in this role?

•Interested in people and able to communicate and make customers feel welcome
•An interest in the shop, and an enthusiasm for raising money through its work. 
•The ability to work as part of a team
•Enthusiastic, committed and helpful
•Having retail experience would be useful, but certainly not essential.

Support teens through art, fashion, films, manga or whatever they’re into. You’ll build trust, boost confidence and offer a calm, supportive space during a big stage of their lives. This role will take place once a week or every two weeks!

We are seeking a diverse, proactive team of volunteers to support a 6-week summer programme (July 20 – Aug 28) across three refuge houses. Our mission is to rebuild parent-child bonds and bring joy back into childhood for families recovering from domestic abuse. You will be volunteering alongside the Children Family workers throughout the summer and will be invited to join an end of summer party.

What you will be doing

• Provide mentoring for teens with interests such as art, fashion, films, anime, manga and creativity.
• Offer a safe adult presence who listens, supports, and helps build confidence.
• Lead informal creative sessions based on the young person’s interests.

The skills you need

• Ability to easily connect with teens and build trusting relationships
• You’re happy to tailor sessions to each young person.
• Ability to provide a supportive, and inclusive atmosphere that encourages learning and participation
• Good communication skills
• Experience in childcare desired
• Ability to speak either Farsi, Bengali, Punjabi, Bangladeshi, or Turkish, Nepalese is desired

Helping in our shops is a great way to help CHAS and, as well as helping us raise money to fund our vital services, you'll be part of a really great team of volunteers. You'll be meeting new people, using your skills or learning something new, and making sure our customers get a great welcome and all the assistance they need.

It's always great to see our volunteers chatting to customers and telling them about CHAS - and there's so much more to this role too: you could be sorting donations, getting stock ready for the shop floor, wielding a steamer or a duster, processing Gift Aid, operating the till (we will show you how), merchandising and displaying stock - you'll never have a dull moment.

It would be ideal if you could volunteer one shift each week, which is about four hours (but we're also happy to chat about more flexible times). No special skills are needed as we’ll show you what to do and we provide all the training you’ll need. But if you have any experience or particular interest please tell us, it may come in useful. Cats Protection in Poole are looking for a Volunteer Cashier in our charity shop.

Ideally you'll enjoy fashion, and the fun of a charity shop - you'll help shoppers find hidden gems. You'll help keep us looking beautiful - maintaining the shop floor, filling up our clothing rails, and using your creativity to help create exciting displays. You'll also be meeting our customers and helping them shop, as well as our kind donors, supporters, and cat-lovers!

Your kindness and hard work will help us care for cats and kittens in the Dorset area, with links to our Ferndown homing centre.

EU Grant Writer & Narrative Strategist (Climate Tech / Bio-materials)

We are building Levaebio, a sustainable materials startup focused on next-generation bio-based leather alternatives derived from agro-waste and bio-binders.
We are looking for a skilled volunteer to develop compelling grant narratives and drive end-to-end application efforts for non-dilutive funding opportunities across Europe, particularly in climate tech, circular economy, and bio-material innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft high-quality grant applications and narratives (EIC, Horizon Europe, CBE, LIFE, etc.)
• Develop:
  • Problem statement
  • Innovation differentiation
  • Market opportunity
  • Environmental impact (CO₂ reduction, circularity)
• Translate technical concepts into clear, persuasive funding language
• Support creation of:
  • Pitch decks
  • Executive summaries
  • Concept notes

Kings Langley Owned - Monday mornings, Saturday afternoons (ideally Steamer). DofE - Wednesday after school, Saturday mornings

Returned to Glory (Berkhamsted) - Mondays mornings and Weekends (ideally willing and able to help move furniture)

Marshalswick Owned (St Albans) - Steamers and Sorters for most days and Sundays also Stock Processor/Till Operator

All our shops are in the heart of the community.  If you are looking for a fun role, to learn new skills and to work within a fantastic team then shops have the volunteer roles for you!

Tasks are incredibly varied but all require a commitment to the Hospice values.  The main roles with training given, are:

Till Operator - serving customers on the till, customer facing

Steamer - Steaming clothes ready for sale

Sorter - Sorting donations in preparation to sell

Stock Processor - Hanging, tagging clothes, washing bric-a-brac, filling shop shelves

Whether you have a passion for customer service and pre-loved fashion, or you would prefer to be behind the scenes in our stockroom, your help could make a difference to people in Scotland who are isolated, scared, or anxious about their condition.

Travel Information: The shop is easy to reach from Inverness city centre, with several bus options available, including the 25, 27, 26A, X25 and 700. It takes around five minutes by bus or about 23 minutes on foot.
