Key Responsibilities
Corporate Engagement

• Identify and research prospective corporate partners aligned with Plateful Café's mission.

Catering and Enterprise Development

• Promote Plateful Café's corporate catering services to local businesses.
• Identify opportunities for meetings, events, lunches, conferences, and hospitality catering.
• Support the development of long-term catering relationships and repeat customers.
• Help position Plateful Café as a preferred socially responsible catering supplier.

Employee Volunteering and Skills Sharing

• Develop opportunities for corporate volunteering.
• Encourage businesses to provide mentoring, employability support, and workplace visits for our trainees.
• Build relationships that create pathways into employment for refugees completing our training programmes.

Strategic Support

• Provide advice on corporate engagement and relationship management.
• Help strengthen our corporate partnership strategy.
• Support impact reporting and stewardship of existing partners where required.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is an important time for Asylum Aid as we continue to strengthen our impact and support survivors, asylum seekers and refugees. Our work is more crucial than ever as we advocate for people seeking protection within an increasingly challenging and evolving global landscape.

We are looking to recruit a Trustee to provide strategic leadership and oversight of the charity’s financial affairs and fundraising activities. This is a key role within the Board of Trustees, helping to ensure that Asylum Aid remains financially sustainable, well governed and equipped to deliver its charitable objectives.

Working closely with the Executive Director, Director of Finance and Governance, Group Director of Fundraising and the wider Board, the Trustee will provide expert advice and support on financial strategy, budgeting, risk and reserves management, audit and financial governance.

Help create magical Christmas memories for children and families this festive season by becoming a Santa's Grotto Volunteer!

We're looking for enthusiastic volunteers to Elf us bring the magic of Christmas to life at our Santa's Grotto in Cardiff's Winter Wonderland.

Whether you're keen to step into Santa's boots or become one of Santa's helpful Elves, you'll play an important role in creating a fun, welcoming and memorable experience for the children and families who visit us.

By volunteering in the grotto, you'll be helping us raise vital funds and awareness to ensure no family in Wales lives their child's short life alone.

Considerations:

Age requirement: 18+

Location: Santa's Grotto, Cardiff Winter Wonderland, City Hall Lawn, Cardiff CF10 3ND

Commitment: Flexible. Shifts typically last 3–4 hours between 26 November and 23 December.

Thursdays & Fridays: 5:00pm - 8:00pm
Saturdays & Sundays: 12:00pm - 8:00pm

The Role

We are seeking new trustees to help guide our work and shape our future. As a trustee, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our charity remains sustainable, inclusive, and impactful for the communities we serve.

The Democratic Progress Institute is currently seeking to recruit a Funding and Development Intern for 3-5 days per week for a minimum of 3 months.

The intern will work with the Fundraising & Development Officer as well as the Senior Development Officer and tasks may include but are not limited to: research (development and grant-related, political, policy, organisational), report drafting, database management, editing and proof reading.

Excellent written English skills and the ability to carry out administrative duties are requirements for this role. Moreover, the successful candidate will have an interest in fundraising as well as monitoring and evaluation and possibly already show some familiarity with the principles of fundraising within the NGO/charity sector. Candidates with an academic background in peace and conflict studies in the MENA region and/or human rights are especially encouraged to apply.

Also experience in canva or any such related software is highly desirable.

This role ensures that every document a participant receives is beautifully branded, highly professional, and easy to understand.

• Collateral Design: Create promotional digital flyers, posters, and PDF booklets for specific initiatives like Walk for Paws
• Document Standardisation: Take raw text from the operations team and turn it into beautiful, professional trip itineraries, kit lists, and pre-departure guides using Canva templates.
• Asset Toolkits: Build and update "Fundraising & Marketing Packs" that our Volunteer Adventure Ambassadors and external partners (like gyms or hiking groups) can use to promote our fundraising adventures
• Brand Consistency: Ensure all visual assets, fonts, logos, and tones of voice match our guidelines across all media.

Required Experience & Skills

• Mid-level graphic design or marketing coordination experience (exceptional proficiency with Canva is essential; Adobe Creative Suite is a bonus).
• Strong layout skills—able to turn a text document into a highly readable, visually appealing guide.
• Deep understanding of brand guidelines, typography, and visual consistency.

What you will be doing

• Arranging to talk with potential beneficiaries (on the phone or face to face) at a mutually convenient time
• Understanding peoples’ support needs and gathering information to assess their circumstances
• Typing written case reports to apply for financial assistance
• Sign-posting to services providing specialist support, such as mental health or housing support
• Keeping beneficiaries and the SSAFA regional office up to date with progress
