We believe no child should be disadvantaged because of financial hardship, and no parent should have to struggle to meet their family’s basic needs.

Join our team as a Grants & Fundraising Volunteer and help secure the funding that keeps our services going. In this role, you’ll support our Fundraising & Communications Lead with tasks that directly impact how many families we’re able to help.

Grants from charitable trusts and foundations are an essential source of funding for community organisations working with deaf children, young people and their families. This support allows communities to develop work that meets the needs of deaf children and young people. With your knowledge of grants and persuasive writing skills, you’ll help support communities to research and submit life-changing funding bids.

The Willats Trust is a grant-making, cross-denominational Christian charity with a vision to see our estates and most deprived communities around the UK transformed by the love of Jesus.

Our mission is to fund relational evangelism through local expressions of church, by working with like-hearted partners to share the good news of Jesus in the areas of greatest deprivation across the UK.

Since our establishment in 1858, sharing the Gospel in these communities has always been our priority. Thanks to the generosity of Mr Willats, who gifted a significant property portfolio to the charity at its inception, we have been able to use funds generated from this property portfolio to finance grant-making to support evangelists, church planters, or other activities related to evangelism and making disciples in the top 20% areas of deprivation across the UK.

Following a strategic review in 2025, we have an ambition to more than double the amount we award in grants from £500,000 to £1m a year. Over the next ten years, we want to see more thriving Jesus-centric churches planted in our areas of greatest deprivation and led by people who look like the communities they are serving. This means part of our grant-making supports immediate tactical needs, but part of our grant-making also seeks to influence the underlying factors which will enable the long-term fulfilment of our vision.  

We believe the kingdom of God works best when we all bring what is in our hand and let God do the multiplication. Our posture is to come alongside like-hearted partners who share the same vision and work together in partnership to support and equip those God has called to these communities.

We are seeking to make two Trustee appointments. Individuals who bring expertise in one or more of the following areas:

- Mission-related: someone with lived experience of planting, leading or supporting Jesus-centric churches in communities experiencing significant deprivation. You will probably also carry a sense of calling that is bigger than a single geographic area and will be able help us think strategically about how we use our resources to contribute to increased church planting and evangelism in our areas of greatest deprivation, alongside others, over the next decade and bring deep relationships with others already serving in this space.

- Commercial property: someone with professional property expertise relating to exiting portfolios of residential and non-purpose-built HMO properties, or property development, who can advise on asset optimisation and property exits over the coming years, which will enable us to give more money away.

- Legal, financial or HR: individuals with strategic leadership skills and a passion to see resources deployed for Kingdom-purpose.

The time commitment required of a Trustee is usually likely to equate to approximately 6-8 days per year.

It’s a crucial and exciting time in the history and further development of The Willats Trust. By being a Trustee you will be able to make a difference across the UK and get to have a ringside seat to see what God is doing, as we know his heart is always for the most overlooked and forgotten. Are you an enthusiastic and skilled funding grant writer? Be a part of our small but committed team as a pro-active grant writer volunteer for a small national charity supporting people affected by a debilitating pain condition.

We are looking for 2 skilled grant writer volunteers who can take the lead in researching appropriate funds and writing grant bids to help us continue offering our support services and resources and helping us create new programmes and services to support patients and their families who have been affected by a poorly understood chronic condition; Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS).

As our Grant Writer you will be responsible for identifying appropriate grant opportunities, and managing the grant development and proposal process from research to submitting grant applications with any supporting documents.

Grant Writer

Youth Sustainability Forum is seeking a skilled Grant Writer to support our mission to empower young people in Zambia to lead solutions on mental health, climate action, and civic participation. The role will focus on identifying funding opportunities and developing compelling grant proposals to support our programs, including the Youth SDG Summit—Zambia’s largest youth gathering focused on the Sustainable Development Goals.

The volunteer will work closely with our team to translate our impact, vision, and program outcomes into clear, persuasive funding proposals for foundations, development partners, and corporate funders. This role is ideal for someone who understands how to position social impact work strategically and enjoys turning ideas and data into strong narratives that unlock funding.

Through this contribution, you will directly support initiatives that equip and connect young people across Zambia to drive sustainable change, helping expand programs that reach thousands of youth and strengthen the national youth development ecosystem.

Childs Charitable Trust is a long-established Christian grant-making charity, founded in 1962, distributing significant funding to UK-registered charities advancing the Christian gospel in the UK and overseas.

We are seeking up to three Trustees to strengthen and refresh the Board. As a Trustee, you will help steward financial resources drawn from property and investments, discerning where funding will have the greatest Gospel impact. You will review and assess grant applications, engage directly with mission partners, and contribute to strategic oversight, governance and risk management.

This Trustee role offers the privilege of combining faith, wisdom and practical judgement to enable ministries to grow, respond to crisis and reach those who may never otherwise hear the Good News.

Key responsibilities:

• Shape and approve strategic grant-making decisions
• Provide governance oversight, safeguarding integrity and sustainability
• Review and score applications, weighing impact and risk
• Support and appropriately challenge the Chief Executive
• Contribute actively to prayerful, values-led board discussions
• Time commitment – 4 meetings per year

Our long term goal is to make our programs freely accessible to every veteran who needs them regardless of their financial situation. To achieve this we need to secure government and philanthropic funding. We are looking for an experienced Grant Writer and Funding Researcher to help us get there.
Tasks will include:

• Researching DVA, Queensland Health and other veteran focused funding streams
• Identifying philanthropic grants and foundations aligned with our mission
• Writing and submitting compelling grant applications on behalf of SHHL
• Building a pipeline of funding opportunities
• Advising on funding strategy to support long term sustainability

This is one of the most impactful roles in our organisation — the funding you help secure will directly determine how many veterans we can reach for free.
