We are seeking new trustees to strengthen our Board and help shape the future of vital services for older people across our three boroughs.

We are looking for dedicated, passionate people, of all ages, with a range of professional and life experience, to join the Age UK RBH Board of Trustees.

You'll join a trustee team with a vast amount of personal and professional experience across a whole range of fields.  You’ll be warmly welcomed, participate fully in the governance of our charity and all that entails, and supported to develop your skills.

We'd love to hear from you whether you're an experienced trustee or have never been one. It's just important that you're passionate about creating a fair and equal society for older people and can embody our values.

What we are looking for:

· Previous committee experience and abilities to work in a team

· Professional or voluntary skills and experience covering areas such as supporting older people, caring, finance, communication, property, Human Resources.

· People who live in one of our 3 core boroughs or work or have family connection to one of them or an interest in supporting older people in Redbridge, Barking and Dagenham and Havering

It is not essential to be an older person yourself (due to a majority of older people on the existing board).

We are particularly keen to recruit trustees with experience in one or more of the following areas that are underrepresented on our board:

· Legal – governance, compliance, contracts, safeguarding

· Human Resources – workforce development, wellbeing, organisational culture

· Local Authority/Public Sector – commissioning, partnership working, policy insight

· Data and Digital – evidence‑based decision making, data governance, innovation

· Social Enterprise/Business Development – income generation, sustainability, entrepreneurship

· Commissioning and Contract Management – strategic commissioning, outcomes framework

Time commitment

There are six Board of Trustees Meetings in the year usually on a Friday afternoon and additional training days as required.

About the role:

You will be providing face-to-face or remote support through delivering HUK’s therapeutic 1-2-1 support program for people impacted by hoarding behaviour who may be facing a variety of situations including legal, financial, psychological and discriminatory abuse/neglect. You will be working with trained colleagues to alleviate housing, benefits, mental health and other problems experienced by HUK's participants.

The role consists of:

· Volunteering at HUK a minimum of one and a half-hours each week in accordance with program completion, preferably two years.

· Maintain a caseload of at least one participant.

· Taking responsibility for ongoing casework as required.

· Complying with HUK's case-management procedures, training program and other relevant policies and procedures.

We are looking for:

· Trainee Counsellors/Psychotherapists currently studying on a BACP, UKCP or BABCP accredited course.

· Trainee Counselling/Clinical/Forensic psychologist currently studying on BPS accredited doctoral courses.

· Qualified Counsellors/Psychotherapists that are accredited or working towards accreditation with the BACP, UKCP or BABCP

· Student or individual membership with the BACP, UKCP, BABCP and or HCPC

· Qualified Clinical/Counselling/Forensic Psychologists with HCPC registration.

· A commitment to volunteering with us for one year.

The role of the Governing Body includes collective oversight of the College’s activities and setting and reviewing
our strategy and mission. The governor role is comparable with the non-executive directors of a public company
but instead of being accountable to shareholders, governors are accountable for public funds. As the College is an exempt charity, all governors are charity trustees.

Mavar is currently seeking a seasoned networker to join the Mavar Trustee Board as a Trustee with special responsibilities for strengthening our fundraising practice and broadening the charity’s donor base. Mavar’s Service Users

Some men and women who have grown up in the closed world of the Charedi community hold personal and religious values that are not in line with the rest of the community. Attempts to follow their own path often bring them into direct confrontation with family, friends and neighbours who regard expressions of individualism or self-determination as heresy. These individuals fear that the community will ostracise them, leaving them feeling trapped, isolated and helpless.

Some may simply wish to explore options for obtaining a general education or improving their access to employment opportunities whilst wishing to remain within the ultra-orthodox community; others may look to divest themselves of the strictures of ultra-orthodoxy and to lead a more mainstream lifestyle. They all typically lack the everyday life skills to cope with the challenges of the secular world, which appears to them as a confusing, frightening and alien planet. Any effort to integrate with the outside, secular world is hampered by limited English language skills, cultural disorientation, lack of basic education or qualifications and negligible skills for employment.

Trustee Role Details

The day-to-day operations of Mavar are conducted by staff and volunteers under the leadership of our CEO and with the overall oversight of the Trustee Board.

Main Duties of the Fundraising Trustee:

• Contribute to the overall governance of the charity as a member of the Board of Trustees.
• Provide advice and support on fundraising strategy, ensuring income generation is planned and executed in alignment with Mavar’s budget framework and objectives.
• Act as a fundraising champion on Mavar’s board, working with the CEO and supporting other trustees to explore fundraising possibilities.
• If you have personal networks with fundraising potential, utilise them to support the work of the charity.
• Support the development of diverse fundraising streams (e.g. individual giving, trusts and foundations, community fundraising, corporate support) and advise and support with appeals and major fundraising events/campaigns.

Citizens Advice Winchester District is a dynamic, values-led, and award-winning local charity which is passionate about creating a fairer society for all.

What is Trafford Centre Foundation:

Trafford Centre Foundation (TCF) is in the process of being set up and will be a registered charity, supporting charitable causes across the Greater Manchester region. The British Acupuncture Council​​​​​​​ is seeking to recruit two Lay Directors to join our Governing Board to replace the directors who stood down in 2025.

The ideal candidates will have previous experience as a non-executive director or trustee of a charity, company or community interest company, an understanding of regulatory compliance requirements and the experience of working with a strategic risk management structure.

Established in 1994, Safeline is a leading specialist charity that works to prevent sexual abuse and support those affected to cope and recover.

Our Vision is that everyone affected by or at risk of sexual abuse should feel supported and empowered.

We empower survivors to make choices about the lives they want.

What we do

We provide:

· Prevention/Early Intervention services to help prevent child sexual abuse and exploitation and effective early support to children and young people who are at risk.

· Counselling, Psychotherapy and Art Therapy to survivors of sexual abuse from age 4+, face-to-face, telephone and online

· Independent, non-judgmental emotional and practical support and advocacy to anyone who has experienced historical or recent sexual abuse and wishes to report to the police.

· National Male Survivors Helpline and online support service.

· Specialist education and training to prevent and address sexual abuse.

The Board

Our Board of Trustees are all volunteers drawn from a cross-section of different backgrounds. They are chosen for their skill sets to support Safeline and provide diversity of experience.

The Trustees are responsible for appointing the Chief Executive Officer and ensuring sound management of the professional, ethical, legal, and financial affairs of the Charity. Working in partnership with the executive team and staff, they:

• Set the direction.

• Agree the vision.

Role Overview

As a Talent Advisor, you will be a frontline advocate for fair and inclusive employee relations (ER) practices at QuilomboUK. You’ll manage ER cases, guide managers through complex performance and disciplinary matters, and contribute to building a positive workplace culture through proactive strategies. Your work will ensure HR policies and processes align with our mission, legal standards, and social justice values. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional passionate about resolving conflicts equitably and fostering an environment where everyone thrives.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations (ER) Case Management

• Handle end-to-end ER cases, including grievances, disciplinaries, absence management, and performance issues, ensuring fairness, transparency, and compliance.

• Advise managers on ER processes, providing coaching on conflict resolution, documentation, and equitable decision-making.

• Document case outcomes meticulously and identify trends to recommend preventative measures.

Investigations & Compliance

• Support complex workplace investigations, gathering evidence, interviewing stakeholders, and drafting reports in collaboration with the Manager: Talent Advisory.

• Ensure all ER outcomes comply with UK employment law, organisational policies, and QuilomboUK’s D&I principles.

• Mitigate organisational risk by maintaining accurate records and escalating high-risk issues promptly.

Workplace Culture & Engagement

• Design proactive ER initiatives (e.g., manager training on bias-free feedback, mediation programs) to promote a positive, inclusive culture.

• Partner with the People & Culture team to embed restorative practices and psychological safety in conflict resolution.

• Contribute to engagement surveys and action plans to address systemic employee well-being issues.

Policy Development & Implementation

• Collaborate with the Manager: Talent Advisory to design, update, and implement HR policies that reflect QuilomboUK’s values, culture, and legal obligations.

• Communicate policies clearly to employees and managers, ensuring accessibility and understanding across all levels.

• Monitor policy effectiveness and propose adjustments to align with evolving organisational and social justice goals.

D&I Integration

• Apply a D&I lens to all ER processes, ensuring marginalised voices are heard and outcomes address systemic inequities.

• Advocate for inclusive practices in performance management, such as culturally sensitive feedback frameworks.

• Support initiatives that advance QuilomboUK’s external social justice partnerships and internal equity goals.

Qualifications

• Experience: 2+ years in HR or employee relations, with hands-on experience managing disciplinary, grievance, and performance cases. Exposure to mission-driven or D&I-focused organisations is preferred.

• Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and ER best practices.

  • Ability to navigate sensitive conversations with empathy, discretion, and cultural competence.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for policy drafting and stakeholder guidance.

  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and case management tools.

• Knowledge: Understanding D&I frameworks, restorative justice principles, and trauma-informed HR practices.

About The Marketing Academy Foundation 

At The Marketing Academy Foundation (TMAF), we create opportunities for young people (aged 18–30) from low-income backgrounds to enter the marketing industry. 

As a social mobility charity, we offer access to salaried entry-level roles and run free employability skills bootcamps, giving young talent the access, skills, confidence, and networks they need to succeed.

We operate with a small core team, dedicated Trustees, powerful volunteer network from across the marketing industry who step up and make things happen.

About the Trustee role 

Trustees play a critical role in driving the impact and long-term success of the Foundation. They are accountable for ensuring the charity is well governed, financially sound and strategically focused on delivering real results. As guardians of our purpose, they ensure every decision accelerates social mobility for those starting their careers in our industry. 

Trustees also act as ambassadors - using their networks, influence, and expertise to open doors, advocate publicly, and strengthen our impact. 

Trustees will serve an initial three-year term, with the opportunity to serve up to two additional terms after that. The Board meets approximately four times per year, mostly virtually, with an average time commitment being around half a day per month.

The role is voluntary and unremunerated, with reasonable expenses reimbursed. 

We are looking to appoint up to three Trustees, including one with strong financial expertise to support effective decision making and sustainable growth. 

Key Responsibilities 

Strategy & Vision:  

• Shape the long-term direction and strategy of the charity with the Chair and CEO. 

Governance & Oversight:  

• Ensure compliance with charity law and alignment with TMAF’s constitution and charitable objectives. 

Finance & Risk:  

• Review budgets, monitor financial performance, and ensure resources are used responsibly and sustainably. 

Performance:  

• Support and challenge the CEO to deliver on agreed goals and ensure measurable impact.

• Proactively support revenue and fundraising endeavors. 

• Proactively support corporate partnership acquisition.

Advocacy & Ambassadorship:  

• Represent and champion TMAF’s mission across your professional network and the wider marketing community. 

Inclusion & Culture:

Support & Mentoring:  

Offer constructive advice, mentoring and practical input to help the charity grow. 

About You 

• You’ll have a burning passion for TMAF’s mission, inclusion and social mobility, with the belief that access to opportunity should be based on potential, not background. 

• Extensive experience at a senior level within marketing, communications, media or advertising, and it would be beneficial (although by no means essential) to have had exposure to or involvement within learning & development, or training sectors. 

• An understanding of governance and the legal duties of trusteeship would add huge value as would financial and/or legal expertise.We’d be thrilled if you have experience of fundraising and working within a charity. 

• A strong communicator, highly collaborative team player with integrity, independence of thought, and sound judgement

Being a director for the Charity of Elizabeth Janes Jones and the David Henry Waring Home is an exciting and challenging role, bringing with it opportunities for applying strategic thinking, planning, creativity, and stewardship which can help guide the Charity to achieve its goals in the management of its properties, a site re-development which is a significant milestone in the Charity’s history.

Our directors are responsible in law for managing the incorporated entity, and as we are a charitable organisation our directors are also trustees at law and have formal responsibilities under the Companies Act 2006.Our directors give their time voluntarily and the positions are unremunerated, but reasonable out of pocket expenses may be allowable.

As a director, you’ll work as part of a board alongside our other directors and will also have opportunities to work with the CEO, staff, and volunteers, adding to the range of knowledge, skills, and experience within the Charity’s team.  As well as bringing fresh ideas to current and future property management and development projects, the director role also has responsibilities for the governance of the Charity, regulatory compliance matters and the effective stewardship of our finances and resources.

• Dedicating the necessary time to prepare for and attending scheduled meetings and other obligations.

• Think creatively and identify new directions, whilst preserving the overall purpose of the Charity.

We’re looking for people who are passionate about making a difference to the housing sector we would love to hear from you if you’d like to contribute. Ideally, we are hoping to find volunteers with professional qualifications experience and knowledge in the following areas:

• Practical skills and knowledge of social housing and the housing sector and an understanding of the difficulties faced by individuals with disadvantaged backgrounds.
• Using financial data to run a team, function or organisation and to make financial decisions which optimises budgets and contributes to the smooth running of the operation.
• Understanding of a directors, legal duties, responsibilities, and liabilities.
• Familiarity with personal responsibilities and liabilities like that of a director and acting in the best interests of the team and organisation.
• Time management and decision-making skills.
• Management and mitigation of risk.
• Interacting with others and people skills, and a track record of being able to get along with, boards, employees, service users and the public.
• Working with and interpreting data and management information to develop plans and help make and support the making of informed decisions.
• An understanding of and commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Time commitment: The full Board meets every 2 months and meetings last for about 2.5 hours. In addition, Board members are expected to be members of at least one sub committees. These meet when needed but typically monthly.
