Job Description

We are looking for a Volunteer Digital Marketing Director to help lead and coordinate our digital outreach and growth strategy.

Could you use your social media, marketing and communications experience to raise the profile of a small charity? Help us to increase our social media presence and engagement, generate greatr content and help promote existing activities.

Our charity delivers a range of awareness campaigns and support services to patients, relatives, partners and carers who have been affected by a poorly understood pain condition; Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). Richmond Carers Centre, a network partner of Carers Trust, is a registered charity providing information, support, advice and a voice for carers living and caring in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. The Carers Trust conducted an Adult Carer Survey Report 2023 that quoted “Unpaid carers are not unsung heroes. We are forgotten, neglected and burnt out”. Our services are vital in being able to support them with a range of services to improve their wellbeing and to give them a voice. Carers UK research in 2022 estimates the number of unpaid carers could be as high as 10.6 million within the UK. Richmond Carers Centre currently has 2720 registered carers as of May 2026. This comprises of 2134 adult carers and 586 young carers.

Helping Carers to Live Well is our organisational aim. We are looking for someone that would like to volunteer their time to help us to provide a coordinated approach in supporting unpaid adult carers in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.

As a Volunteer, you will be part of a small, dedicated team that provides a range of services to adult carers. The focus of this volunteer role is to support in the delivery of the activity and leisure break programme. Using a welcoming approach, you will lead and support in activities and events that give carers the opportunity to socialise with others carers and have respite from their caring role. Are you passionate about food and want to make a meaningful difference in your community? Join us as a Cooking Volunteer at our Day Centre, where we provide support to individuals who are rough sleeping and/or with a history of homelessness.

In this role, you’ll be preparing and cooking hearty meals for our clients, helping to bring comfort, routine, and nourishment to their day. You’ll also be responsible for cleaning up as you go and ensuring the kitchen is left tidy afterwards.

You’ll be preparing delicious meals for our clients and making a real difference in the lives of people who need it most. Your time, care, and cooking skills can bring comfort and support to those on their journey to a better future.

We’re looking for confident public speakers to represent Mencap by delivering Lunch and Learn talks. You’ll be fully supported with training, guidance, and a prepared presentation and script. In this role, you’ll deliver engaging sessions either in person or virtually via Teams, reaching a wide range of groups and organisations.

Frequently you'll be co-delivering these talks with people with a learning disability, so you'll hear first hand their stories and the impact you'll make.

For this role you will need access to your own laptop.

We want to spread the message of who Mencap are and the amazing work we do, so as well as attending lunch and learns requested by our current corporates, we're looking for volunteers who will as part of the role, proactively; research, reach out and contact local groups (e.g: Rotary Clubs, Women's Institutes) and share our lunch and learn presentation with them.

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

At Children With Voices, community is everything. We've been walking alongside Hackney families for over 25 years — and we're looking for someone who shares that deep commitment to people.

As our Volunteer Community Engagement Officer, you'll be a connector. You'll help us reach more families, build relationships with local organisations, and make sure that the people who need us most know we're here.

This is a face-to-face, relationship-centred role for someone who genuinely loves people and community.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Build and maintain relationships with families, local groups, schools, and community spaces

• Represent Children With Voices at community events, outreach sessions, and local meetings

• Identify and connect with families who may benefit from our programmes

• Support the signposting of families to the right services and support

• Assist with the coordination and promotion of community events

• Provide regular updates to the CEO on community needs and feedback

• Help grow our volunteer and supporter network through outreach and word of mouth

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

ESSENTIAL

• A warm, approachable manner and genuine love for community

• Strong verbal communication and active listening skills

• Ability to connect with people from all backgrounds with sensitivity and respect

• Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team

• Understanding of safeguarding principles

HELPFUL BUT NOT ESSENTIAL

• Experience in community development, outreach, or social work

• Knowledge of Hackney or East London communities

• Ability to communicate in a second language (particularly relevant to Hackney's diverse community)

• Experience working with families, children, or vulnerable adults
