Children of Voices is a hugely respected charitable organisation helping to improve the lives of young people and their families through genuine care, love, and support. 

We are currently seeking a volunteer Personal Assistant/Office Manager. This role is ideal for an individual with experience as a P.A./Manager looking to work within the charity sector.

Responsibilities typically include:

Acting as a first point of contact for enquiries: (email/calendar management and phone calls, managing diaries
Typing, compiling, and preparing reports, presentations, and correspondence.
Miscellaneous tasks to support the CEO which will vary according to projects and tasks but could include fundraising, event planning, social media, community outreach, press & PR.
Managing databases and filing systems.

Implementing and maintaining procedures/policies & administrative systems
Forming a relationship with our clients as they are part of the community.

Essential skills for this role are:

Organisation skills: The ability to prioritise tasks, manage time, and keep track of deadlines is crucial.

Communication skills: should be able to communicate effectively in writing.
Attention to detail: the ability to pick up on small details can prevent costly mistakes from occurring.
Problem-solving skills: the ability to identify and resolve problems quickly and efficiently.

CAFOD Advisor Recruitment - Strategy Performance Committee (SPC)

Role

Committee member, providing expert fundraising expertise to this Committee of the Board, alongside Trustees and other expert advisors. The SPC exercises governance activities on behalf of the Board and provides recommendations to the Board. The remit of the SPC covers CAFOD’s strategy to recruit and engage donors and supporters, and its global programmatic work, so covers both CAFOD’s international activities as well as the work within the Catholic Community in England and Wales.

Essential Criteria

Professional fundraising expert with experience in the Charity sector
Experience of multiple income portfolio management and strategy - particularly fundraising from the public (individual giving, legacy fundraising, community fundraising, major donor engagement etc.)
Respect for the goals, ethos and culture of CAFOD

Advantageous

An understanding of fundraising in a faith context
Familiarity with Fundraising Regulator best practice & or a member of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising
Knowledge of fundraising for international causes

Time commitment

Four half-day meetings a year, currently two at CAFOD HQ, Romero House, London and two online.
Some preparatory reading time is required before meetings
No specific minimum term but a commitment to give approximately 2-3 years would be preferable.

Job description

Family Friends carefully recruit, train, and match volunteers with families in Central-West London. Our volunteer befrienders offer practical and emotional support based on each family's unique needs and potential. We offer two volunteer opportunities - Big Buddies and Parent Buddies.

Volunteers will aim to help parents to discover their strengths, build confidence, and resolve difficulties. Volunteers meet with their match weekly for a period of 6 -12 months.

Activities might include:

Supporting a parent to take their children on days out.
Helping to strengthen family relationships.
Providing a listening ear.
Helping parents to build confidence in themselves.

Essential Criteria:

You must be able to commit to the Parent Buddy programme for a minimum of 6 months.
18+
Must have lived in the UK for the last 2 years
