This vacancy is for volunteers in the Dartford, Gravesend, Sevenoaks and Royal Tunbridge Wells area.

Volunteer training opportunity meetings are held on Tuesdays 19:00 -21:00 in Northfleet or Thursdays 19:30 -21:00 in Royal Tunbridge Wells.

We are looking for volunteers in Buckinghamshire, including Milton Keynes area.

Volunteers would be expected to attend regular network training evenings, on line training and specific face to face training for the role. Once trained for the role would be expected to assist at First Aid, PR and fundraising events.

Candidates will need to be available to attend an all day Selection event that will be held on Saturday 28th February 2026 at the St John Ambulance Headquarters in Aylesbury.

Following the selection event, successful candidates will need to attend a Welcome event on Saturday 14th March in Aylesbury. On line training plus face to face classroom training.

Every day, disabled people who rely on highly trained assistance dogs face unnecessary barriers. From being refused entry to shops and restaurants, to navigating confusing legal protections. These challenges persist despite the vital role assistance dogs play in giving people greater independence, confidence, and opportunity.  Outdated legislation and a lack of clarity around rights and responsibilities mean progress is slow. Change is urgently needed.

That’s where you come in. We are working in partnership with Assistance Dogs UK (ADUK), the umbrella body of 14 accredited assistance dog charities in the UK, to secure expert voices to help shape the future of access and protection for assistance dog partnerships. By joining, you will contribute to a vision of a society where disabled people face no barriers, where legislation is clear and enforceable, and where high standards safeguard both people and dogs.

What we’re looking for
You will bring credibility, relevant skills and knowledge, and a commitment to integrity, openness, and collaboration. You will be confident in influencing, communicating clearly, and making an active contribution. The ability to draw on your networks to support the panel’s work is also valuable.

To achieve this, ADUK is seeking an expert voice in the disability space with some or all of the following experience and knowledge:

• Lobbying and changemaking
• Advocacy
• Rights and access

Panel members are expected to:

• Demonstrate high levels of personal credibility, bringing relevant experience, skills and knowledge.
• Conduct themselves with integrity, objectivity, openness, and honesty.
• Demonstrate their capability to be personally effective, with excellent communication skills, and the ability to influence, and actively contribute.
• Harness relevant networks as required.

Training will be provided on assistance dog standards and/or ADUK policy context. The panel member will join a newly formed Advisory Panel, which draws expert voices from legal, strategic communications, animal welfare and policy.

We are looking for a volunteer to help us identify and apply for UK government and quasi-government grant funding that corresponds to our platform activities,  including entrepreneurship support, innovation, skills, inclusion, and regional growth.

This role is ideal for someone with experience in public funding, policy programmes, innovation grants, or the third sector who wants to apply their expertise to a fast-growing, mission-driven organisation with a strong track record.

You will work closely with Unrest’s co-founders and Head of Partnerships, as well as being a part of the Unrest team and vibrant Unrest community of founders and changemakers.

Responsibilities

• Research and map relevant UK government, public sector, and arm’s-length body funding opportunities aligned with Unrest’s programmes and community work.
• Assess eligibility, competitiveness, and strategic fit of funding opportunities.
• Lead or support the drafting of grant applications, including written narratives, budgets, and supporting documentation.
• Coordinate inputs from the Unrest team and external collaborators where required.
• Track deadlines, compliance requirements, and reporting obligations for submitted or awarded grants.
• Help build institutional knowledge and reusable materials to strengthen future applications.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience with UK government or public-sector grant funding (hands-on application experience strongly preferred).
• Strong written communication skills and comfort working with structured application processes.

Overview

The Social Supermarket Initiative (SSI) is a community-led social enterprise tackling food insecurity and promoting sustainable community growth through our affordable supermarket model, outreach programmes, and ethical partnerships.

We are seeking a Graphic Designer who is creative, detail-oriented, and collaborative to produce high-quality visual materials that strengthen SSI’s brand, support marketing campaigns, and engage our community. The role ensures SSI’s communications are visually consistent, professional, inclusive, and reflective of our mission.

Key Responsibilities

• Support SSI’s social media content with visually engaging, consistent design in collaboration with the Social Media Manager.

• Collaborate with the Social Media Manager to align visuals with campaign goals and organisational messaging.

• Maintain and apply SSI’s visual identity guidelines, ensuring all outputs meet accessibility and inclusivity standards.

• Edit and format images, infographics, and other visual assets for digital and print channels.

• Manage multiple design projects and deliver high-quality work to agreed deadlines.

• Contribute creative ideas to enhance SSI’s storytelling, campaigns, and public engagement.

Ideal Candidate

• A creative thinker with a strong eye for detail, layout, and composition.

• Proficient in design tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), or Figma.

• Experience in brand identity, campaign design, or social media visual content.

• Organised, adaptable, and able to prioritise multiple projects effectively.

• Passionate about SSI’s mission and committed to social impact, inclusivity, and accessibility.

• Strong collaboration skills, able to work with the Social Media Management Team and other departments.
