We are a Local Group of Humanists UK. All Humanists UK members and supporters in the local area are automatically part of the group. Bangor Humanists aim to provide a range of activities for non-religious people living in and around Bangor to meet, socialise, campaign, raise awareness of humanism, participate in local civic life and support each other. The Local Group represents Humanists UK and the local humanist community at public events and in public forums. Bangor Humanists is led by a team of volunteers that organises events and activities throughout the year.

We are seeking a dedicated and driven Events Lead to join our Committee, to assist in delivering the activities of Bangor Humanists.

At Help4Homeless, our mission is simple: make sure no one in Peterborough sleeps rough without knowing someone cares.

We're a youth-led community group founded by a 17-year-old who saw a man sleeping under a bridge and decided to act. We create £10 wellbeing packs — socks, snacks, hygiene essentials, warmth — and hand them directly to people sleeping rough in Peterborough. We've already helped 6 people at our very first event, and we're just getting started.

Do you want to help tell that story?

As our Photography/Videography Volunteer, you'll capture the moments that move people to donate, share, and care. Your content will power our social media, support our fundraising campaigns, and show the real human impact of homelessness in Peterborough.

What you'll be working on:

• Attending pack distributions and community events when you're available
• Capturing photos and short video clips on the day
• Passing edited content to our social media team

Description

The Revv it up Festival is a thrilling festival featuring music, tractor pulling and family fun organised by BRM Restoration and Engineering Services. RNIB has been chosen as one of their charity partners and have been invited along to host an information stand and to help out on the day.

We’re looking for volunteers who live in or close to Dungiven, Northern Ireland who have excellent communication skills, lots of enthusiasm and who enjoy talking to people about the work of RNIB.

The event will take place from 17 to 19 July 2026 and volunteers are needed for a day or more at 47 Ballyguddin Rd, Dungiven, Londonderry BT47 4RJ. The days will be busy and varied and could include:

• talking to members of the public
• handing out merchandise
• Directing people to the RNIB stand

How you will be supported in your role:
Training will be given before the event and there will be members of RNIB staff on hand to deal with any queries throughout the duration of the show.

How often will I be needed?

• 5 Hours per Day

 Youth Leaders work directly with young people in St John Ambulance Badger Setts and Cadet Units. By organising a mixed weekly programme, this role will support the learning and development of young people into the next generation of health citizens. Youth Leaders also help young people develop their confidence, teamwork skills, self-discipline, and generally encourage them to strive to be the best they can be, as well as supervise and support other adult volunteers in their team.

You’ll get a huge sense of satisfaction and pride delivering an essential service. It’s great for you, great for your community and great for our nation, and it requires only a small commitment of your time.

ENGINEERS/MAKERS

Across the UK, our 60+ local branches help disabled people live the lives they choose. Our network of skilled volunteers respond to thousands of requests each year to design and make customised equipment free of charge.

Our Engineer/Maker volunteers are at the very heart of what our local branches do. They use their practical skills and creativity to help people with disabilities live fuller and more independent lives.

What the role involves

This is a varied role where local need shapes what you’ll be working on, but it often includes:

• Designing and making pieces of equipment for individuals with specific needs

• Using your practical skills working with metal, wood, plastic, or electronics (or a combination of them)

• Attending a monthly meeting of the local branch.

We can support you to develop the skills you need for this role, and there’s an induction that covers all the areas above. You’ll also have chance to discuss your role and any additional needs with us.

What you’ll need for this role

Essential

• Practical experience in working with one of the above materials

• Comfortable working with people, listening to them and understanding their needs

• Able to apply our risk management system

• Able to apply disability, equality, and inclusion practices

• Able to keep people’s personal details safe

• Willing to follow REMAP policies and procedures and a commitment to our values

Desirable

• Access to your own tools and workshop (or can access these)

• Able to drive or have good transport links

You’ll also need to complete the induction checklist, as well as a DBS check and reference check.

Where will I volunteer?

This role is largely home based, but will generally also involve visiting clients out in the community. Your local branches hold in-person meetings once a month or so.

Time commitment

This varies quite a lot depending on which cases come in, how complex they are and whether they fit your skills and experience, but it’s essentially a flexible role and there are no set hours.

Families supported by the Young Lives vs Cancer Service are going through some of the most challenging times of their lives. With the care, time, and compassion of our volunteers, we can help them feel supported and less alone.

As a Charity Support Coordinator, you’ll work directly with young people children and their families to help them access grants, treats, wishes, and special opportunities that can make a real difference. You’ll help open doors to practical help and meaningful moments.

What you give as a volunteer goes far beyond practical support — it’s reassurance, kindness, and hope at a time when it’s needed most. Your time and commitment can help make the cancer journey a little lighter and leave a lasting, positive impact on the families you support.

What you’ll be doing

• Helping young people and families access grants, treats, wishes, and special opportunities

• Guiding young people and families to access the right support for them

The Befriender 'In Home' Volunteer will play an important role by providing companionship to someone we support at our supported living service by spending time with them, visiting them in the home and doing activities they enjoy. These might include chatting over a cup of tea, reading books, playing board games, etc.

Registered as The Royal School for the Blind, SeeAbility is one of the oldest disability charities in the UK. This year we are celebrating our 225th anniversary, having pioneered specialist support across multiple generations since 1799!

We specialise in supporting people who have learning disabilities, autism, complex needs, who may also have sight loss. Our support ranges from providing person-centred support across our many supported-living and residential care provisions. Furthermore, we provide specialist eye-care services to children and adults alike and assists people to find paid employment for the very first time. Description

You'll be raising awareness, & improving understanding of sight loss through delivering RNIB’s Awareness to Action sessions in your local community. Through these engaging sessions, you'll inspire participants to make small changes to their behaviour that make a massive difference in the day-to-day lives of people with sight loss. As a Community Change Champion, this will involve:

• Talking directly with community leaders, businesses, & local groups about ways they can get involved & inviting them to join an Awareness to Action session.
• Delivering RNIB’s Awareness to Action sessions either in person or online, using our resources. You may do this on your own or with a team of other local volunteers, both sighted and with sight loss.
• Sharing RNIB’s information & initiatives so people know we’re here for them.
• If you have a personal link to sight loss, sharing your experience during the session to help give a tangible example of how local people can make a real difference.
• Telling us about any activities you have engaged in via a Microsoft form.

You will be supported and guided from our National Cat Centre and through our regional and local volunteer groups and teams. We offer engaging online and face-to-face training, expenses and have policies and processes to help volunteers get the most out of their time with us.
