Help shape the future of Sherwood Forest

Sherwood Forest Trust is seeking new Trustees to join our Board and help guide the future of one of England's most iconic landscapes.

For over 30 years, we have worked with communities, landowners, conservation organisations, public bodies, businesses and volunteers to protect, restore and celebrate the natural and cultural heritage of Sherwood. Through nature recovery, heritage projects, environmental education, volunteering and community engagement, we help ensure this remarkable landscape can thrive for future generations.

As a Trustee, you will provide strategic oversight, support good governance and help shape the long-term direction of the charity. Working alongside a committed Board and staff team, you'll contribute your insight, experience and perspective to help us maximise our impact.

We welcome applications from people from all backgrounds and walks of life. We are particularly interested in hearing from people with experience in:

• Environmental conservation and nature recovery
• Heritage and cultural landscapes
• Forestry, woodland management or ecology
• Community engagement and volunteering
• Education and learning
• Strategic partnerships and relationship building
• Fundraising and income generation
• Governance, organisational leadership or finance

Previous trustee experience is not essential.

We're looking for people who share our passion for Sherwood Forest and can bring strategic thinking, sound judgement and a collaborative approach to helping the charity achieve its ambitions. 

Time commitment: Approximately 5-8 hours per month. Meetings are held online and in Edwinstowe. Travel expenses reimbursed.
