Volunteer role: Advocate
Reports to: Advocate Lead
Commitment level: Flexible hours to suit Advocate availability. No set hours are stipulated.
Location: Stamford, Bourne, Deeping and surrounding villages.
Purpose of the Voluntary role:
The Advocacy role can be very rewarding; it’s a way of getting involved in supporting your local community and making a difference. It can give you the chance to feel valued, learn new skills, be part of a team and meet new people. An Advocate means giving support to another person to help them access information and advice; enabling them to express their views and wishes and to remain independent and in control of their daily affairs.

The Coroners' Courts Support Service (CCSS) is a registered Charity whose trained volunteers give emotional and practical support to bereaved families and other witnesses attending an inquest.

DofE Award Program Manager / Co-ordinator
Challenge Adventure Group (“CAG” for short and the operating name of CAG Trust) is a voluntary youth organisation for Knowle, Dorridge and beyond aimed at boys aged 10 and above.
As our name suggests, we provide challenging, adventurous and fun activities and the D of E Award for young people in their leisure time. Taking part in fun experiential activities enables members to develop their physical and mental skills and capacities and reach their full potential of becoming positive, active and happy citizens.
Summary
CAG was formed in 2009 and became a charity, CAG Trust, in 2019. The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) is a UK charity that makes a difference to young people’s lives and prepares them for life and work. Young people from every possible background take part in the DofE programme each year to broaden their horizons, develop their leadership skills, learn to work with others, volunteer in their local communities, increase their employability, and prove to themselves they can succeed at a serious challenge.
The DofE Manager will perform a vital role to ensure that The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is operated in accordance with the terms of the CAG Licence agreement and support the DofE’s mission. They will develop, support and promote the delivery of the DofE within the remit of CAG.
Description
We are looking for someone to manage and coordinate our DofE program. To get the most out of this role, you’ll probably have worked with young people before and have a love of the great outdoors and maybe into paddling, cycling, mountain biking and walking. You’ll be comfortable with the skills needed to complete expeditions (e.g. navigation, map reading, using a compass), and be able to cope with changing and challenging situations.
Formal qualifications in outdoor leadership (e.g. BEL or ML awards) or other skills (e.g.canoeing) are welcomed but not essential.
The key tasks of the role are to:
Young People
Ensure the delivery of high quality programmes and identify opportunities for increased participation.
Manage the provision of safe and enjoyable DofE programs for participants.
Issue badges and certificates on completion of Awards.
Arrange suitable opportunities to celebrate young people’s DofE achievements.
Purchase Welcome Packs and assign Participation Places.
Deal with complaints and queries in an efficient manner.
DofE Groups
Authorise, manage and set up sufficient DofE groups to ensure access to a DofE programme for all participants who wish to take part.
Approve the appointment of Leaders, Instructors, Supervisors and Assessors and ensure they have access to appropriate training/qualifications for their role.
Manage and support Leaders – support them in their role, ensure they have undergone appropriate training and actively manage the recruitment of new Leaders when necessary.
Use eDofE to actively manage DofE groups and leaders.
Ensure that all DofE groups are adhering to the correct policies and procedures.
Run an active volunteer recruitment programme.
General
In conjunction with the relevant DofE Regional/Country Office develop, implement and review a DofE development plan, which includes supporting the DofE to meet its strategic aims.
Use eDofE to support the delivery and management of DofE
Use the eDofE reporting functions to measure performance and set development targets.
Attend at least one meeting/event organised by your DofE Regional/Country Office per year to keep up to date with DofE developments.
Ensure compliance with all aspects of the DofE Licence.
Be a champion for the DofE within CAG and actively promote the DofE within the local community.
In addition you must undertake the e-induction and Introduction to the DofE courses.

Making a difference - what impact will the opportunity have?
Your input is key to the running of CAG as well as securing its future. This role puts you in a real position to support young people in developing their skills in expedition activities. You will play an invaluable part of the quality checking process of the expeditions. The New Normal is a charity that runs free peer support groups for people navigating bereavement, facilitated by a dedicated team of volunteers across the UK.
Our volunteers dedicate their time and energy to supporting others through emotionally challenging times, and we want to make sure they feel equally held and supported in that work. We are looking for a qualified therapist to facilitate a monthly online group session for our volunteers: a safe, reflective space where they can process what comes up, let off steam, and when required be offered reflective feedback.
This is a facilitation role rather than a clinical one. You would be holding the space, normalising emotions, and offering a warm, containing presence, not providing individual therapy or carrying clinical responsibility for group members.

Working alongside our trained staff, you’ll help answer calls to our support line and keep things running smoothly across our office and support centre.
A big part of this role is helping the office runs smoothly day to day. That means getting involved in a wide variety of tasks, from supporting our databases and keeping records up to date, to helping with general admin, organising information, and making sure everything is where it needs to be so the staff and volunteer team can focus on supporting people. What you’ll do
You’ll act as a mentor to the members of the group. You’ll be helping the group(s) develop a range of life skills, things that many of us take for granted. These include Maths and English skills, independent living, the use of public transport, social skills and even the sourcing of employment.
For the people in these groups, these things can be very difficult to develop and achieve without regular support. Through regular support and meetings, members and volunteers develop greater trust, skills, and confidence together.

Will you share your counselling or psychotherapy skills as a counsellor or therapist to join an online counselling service for patients and families affected by a chronic pain condition (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome)?
We're looking for 3 qualified counsellors, psychotherapists or psychologists volunteers ideally with some experience of working with chronic pain patients or lived experience of chronic illness, who may want to volunteer their skills supporting our adult service users (aged 18 & over) and help us to continue developing a mental health support service.
As a Volunteer Counsellor/Therapist you’ll be providing remote counselling/therapy support services to adults aged 18 and over many of whom are isolated and in need of mental health services. You’ll be providing one-to-one counselling/therapy sessions online via Zoom or by phone. With your recognised counselling qualifications and experience you will be an asset to our small charity and to our services users.
Depending on your qualifications, skills and experience, our volunteer counsellors / therapists provide person centred counselling (general talking counselling) or integrative counselling, or specialist services such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), ACT, CFT and EMDR for CRPS patients, or their families & close relatives.
People will be referred both by health or legal professionals as well as having patients and carers themselves referring into to the service.
In this role you’ll be able to develop your counselling and therapy skills, organisation, communication and team working skills.
Most importantly you’ll be providing essential services that help make sure no one has to face CRPS alone. Be the hope for CRPS.
What the role involves
This role may vary depending on needs, but is likely to include:
Undertake client assessments following triage by Clinical Lead, followed by counselling / therapy (via Zoom or phone) to our clients, offering up to 20 sessions for each client plus a check in and 4 psychometric assessments
Providing one-to-one counselling sessions to clients aged 18 & over
Update our database with the client’s information, sessional notes and session attendance
Maintain succinct, relevant session notes and store these confidentially and securely in acccordahce with GDPR
Attend CPD training to ensure your knowledge stays current
We can support you to develop the skills you need for this role, including a full induction. You will have a chance to discuss your role and any additional needs with us. We can offer you a supervisor as well as expenses for annual insurance and an external supervisor if required.
What you need for this role
Essential
Willing and able to provide counselling via Zoom from a private location with a stable WiFi connection
Able to support a minimum of 3 clients a week, being three hours of your time for therapy sessions plus time for administration and attending group supervision for 1.5 hours a month. We ideally hope you to offer the charity a minimum commitment of six months.

We exist to tell the truth, build systems that protect people, and mobilise communities at scale. The Founding Volunteer Social Media Director is a critical leadership role at the heart of this work.
The Purpose of This Role
The Social Media Director is responsible for shaping and leading the organisation’s entire social media vision, strategy, and execution during its foundational phase. This role exists to transform truth into reach, values into visibility, and community work into collective momentum — without diluting integrity.
You will lead the creation of a decentralised, high-volume, values-aligned content ecosystem that empowers ambassadors, volunteers, and community members to speak, share, and act with clarity and purpose.
This is about building infrastructure for voice — not chasing virality for its own sake.

Children With Voices is a grassroots children's charity with over 25 years of experience supporting children and families across London. Based at Fawcett Estate Community Hall in Clapton, Hackney, we run a Community Food Hub, alternative education, SEN support, and community programmes including Jumping Beans. We have supported over 100,000 families and are recognised nationally for our work.
ABOUT THIS ROLE
Behind every programme we run and every family we support, there is careful administration keeping everything in order. We are looking for a Volunteer Admin Coordinator to be that backbone — someone who takes ownership of the detail, keeps our systems running, and makes sure the rest of the team can focus on delivery.
This is an ideal role for someone who is highly organised, discreet, and takes real pride in getting things right.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Day-to-Day Administration
• Manage correspondence, scheduling, and general administrative tasks across the organisation
• Maintain accurate records, databases, and filing systems in line with GDPR and data protection requirements
• Support the preparation of reports, meeting notes, and key organisational documents
Operational Support
• Support the Operations Manager with administrative aspects of HR, finance, and governance
• Help coordinate onboarding for volunteers and new team members
• Track outputs, attendance, and impact data for monitoring and evaluation
Communications & Coordination
• Act as the first point of contact for internal queries — directing people quickly and clearly
• Maintain shared systems and tools so information is easy to find and act on
• Support communication between teams, leadership, and external partners
Governance & Compliance Support
• Help prepare materials for Trustee and leadership meetings
• Support safeguarding admin — DBS checks, consent forms, and record keeping
• Flag gaps in processes and help develop simple, workable solutions

Together Drug and Alcohol Service is the commissioned community drug and alcohol provision for Devon. It provides a range of support, interventions and treatments for those wanting to make positive changes to their drug and/or alcohol use, as well raising awareness and supporting family members.
We have a dedicated Criminal Justice Team that helps people who have become involved in the criminal justice system and who wish to make changes to their drug and/or alcohol use. This involves writing reports to the Court in line with community sentencing, liaising with Probation in order to facilitate Court Orders relating to drug and/or alcohol use and supporting those released from prison as they transition back to community living.
Role overview:
We are looking for a volunteer to meet people on the day they are released from prison, who can support these individuals to attend initial appointments across organisations in the community.
This role would be well suited to someone looking to gain experience working within the criminal justice system and who is willing to develop understanding of the challenges the early days of living back in the community can bring.
Individuals with lived experience are also strongly encouraged.
Volunteers would need to be available from 8am on the day(s) they volunteer, to meet clients in the reception lounge of HMP Exeter // HMP Channing’s Wood.

The expected time commitment for a volunteer undertaking this role is 30 hours per month. Volunteers are required to complete a mandatory welcome programme that introduces the role and the wider charity. Furthermore, they must undertake mandatory training in appropriate St John Ambulance policies, safeguarding, GDPR, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, keeping safe at St John Ambulance, the Care Quality Commission, and leadership. There are also optional training opportunities available, which include speaking and listening skills, media engagement skills, and finance process skills. Finally, before commencing the role, volunteers must complete specific screening requirements, which include a Right to Volunteer check and the provision of two references.
Volunteers would be expected to attend training for the role both online and in person, to attend regularly network weekly meetings to enable them to keep their skills up to date.
