Tell My Truth and Shame the Devil C.I.C is a pioneering Podcast/YouTube Channel and healing membership organisation. We provide a platform for survivors and whistleblowers to share their lived experiences, highlight systemic frustrations and offer solutions rooted in culturally trauma-informed care.

Our membership offers young people and survivors a path to heal, learn digital skills and interactively participate in our Alchemic 369 Book Club, where members engage in weekly interactive discussions, debates and critical analysis of African, Caribbean and world history, Ifa, classics and political thought. Members will sharpen their reading, reasoning and imagination skills, with opportunities to discuss works directly with authors, highly subsidised plant-based transformative retreats and join a community designed to empower and educate.

We are a mission-driven, collective-focused C.I.C building a movement that combines healing, re-education and empowerment.

Job Purpose:

To identify, locate, and verify legitimate, available contact pathways for individuals identified by the Story Intelligence Team, enabling the Outreach Team to make timely, appropriate, and ethical first contact.

This role exists to bridge the gap between “story identification” and “human connection” by ensuring that every potential guest or storyteller can be reached through accurate, professional, and consent-respecting communication channels.

The specialist is responsible for systematically mapping how identified individuals present themselves publicly—across media appearances, social platforms, organisational affiliations, speaking engagements, publications, and advocacy work—in order to determine the safest and most appropriate route for initial outreach.

A key function of this role is to ensure that contact is made through official, transparent, and non-intrusive channels wherever possible (such as public emails, organisational contacts, management representatives, charity partnerships, or verified professional platforms), rather than informal or private intrusion methods.

This role also supports the integrity of the outreach process by ensuring that all contact data is accurate, up to date, and ethically sourced, reducing the risk of miscommunication, safeguarding concerns, or inappropriate engagement.

We are looking for a creative and proactive Digital Communications Volunteer to support our online presence. This role focuses on creating engaging digital content, particularly for social media, including basic video editing and visual content. You will help us share our work, grow our audience, and engage supporters by producing creative, clear, and impactful content. This is a flexible volunteer role, with around 4 hours per week expected for a minimum of 3 months. Work can be completed at times that suit you, with occasional check-ins with the team. 

Key duties

• Create and schedule social media content (posts, graphics, short videos) 

• Edit simple videos for social media using tools such as CapCut or similar 

• Support content planning aligned with campaigns and key messages 

• Help maintain a consistent tone of voice and brand style across channels 

• Engage with online audiences (e.g. responding to comments/messages where appropriate) 

• Support basic website updates or digital content uploads if needed 

• Monitor social media trends and relevant news and developments in humanitarian, migration and health equity issues, and suggest timely content ideas.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has some previous experience creating content for social media / digital platforms, with an understanding of how different platforms are used 

• Is confident using tools such as Canva and basic video editing software (e.g. CapCut, Adobe Premiere Rush, or similar) 

• Has good written communication skills and attention to detail 

• Is creative, organised, and able to work independently 

• Is interested in digital storytelling and using communications for social impact. 

• Has access to their own laptop and internet.

Using their passion and imagination, they oversee a small team of fundraising volunteers who come together to raise the vital funds needed to cover costs such as veterinary bills and food. Our fundraising team leaders support their team of volunteers in all aspects of their roles, making sure our volunteers are happy, confident and supported.

Time expectation

Our fundraising team leaders usually spend three to four hours per week in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed.

Fundraising Events Organiser Volunteer

Would you like to be part of a dedicated and friendly team of volunteers and make a real difference to the lives of cats and kittens in our care?  Do you enjoy planning and organising for events?  Maybe you have a particular skill that you would like to put to use?
 
Then this could be the role for you! 
 
Our Fundraising Events Team are at the heart of what we do, raising essential funds for the cats. 

Our Fundraising Events Organisers share ideas, tasks and inspiration, planning and delivering local events, with the support of the Fundraising events helpers, such as Open Days (usually 2 per year) at the centre and our annual Christmas Bazaar. 

Time Expectation:  This role can be varied and time commitment can be flexible. 

Without volunteers, Cats Protection Berkshire Cat Centre simply wouldn't exist. Our amazing, friendly volunteers are a diverse group with a shared love of cats who fit volunteering around their home lives and personal commitments.

We're often looking to welcome new volunteers to join our brilliant team. As well as meeting great people and making an incredible difference to the cats of Berkshire.

Please note:  Although we do welcome everyone, unfortunately our centre is not set up to accommodate young volunteers under the age of 18, including those on the Duke of Edinburgh programme.

Full training and support will be given for all roles.  We look forward to hearing from you!

The difference you will make to cats and people

As a charity we can continue to help cats and kittens in need thanks to the donations we receive at fundraising events from generous members of the public. Our fundraising event helpers have the exciting and varied role of helping at local fundraising events - such as cakes sales, barn dances, quiz nights – and everything in between

You can expect us to

• make you feel welcome, included and respected in line with our values and behaviours
• support you in having a positive and impactful experience at Cats Protection
• cover agreed out-of-pocket expenses in line with our Expenses Policy
• provide you with access to learning, development and engagement opportunities

What we need from you

You’ll be:

· help set up and/or man stalls at events

· help on collection days like supermarket collections events or street collections

· help at fundraising events such as quiz nights, cake sales and dances

· promoting a professional image of Cats Protection at events

Time expectation

This role is really flexible! You could choose to volunteer at one event for a couple of hours or attend multiple fundraising events.

We’ll keep you up to date with upcoming local events where volunteers are needed. You’ll then be able to choose which events you’d like to volunteer at and how many hours you’d like to give. However much time you can give, your contribution will help raise much needed funds to continue the work of Cats Protection.
