Become the Volunteer Who Helps Launch a Movement
Join Unlock YOUR Potential and help build a charity that breaks barriers and transforms futures
At Unlock YOUR Potential, we believe that an accident of birth should never define a person’s destiny. Talent is everywhere — opportunity is not. We exist to change that.
We’re building a new social‑mobility charity dedicated to empowering adults from low‑income backgrounds and communities facing the highest levels of deprivation. Through holistic employability, wellbeing and mentoring programmes, we’re here to break cycles, open doors, and unlock the potential that has always been there.
We’re focusing our work in areas ranked among the top 10% most deprived in the UK for employment and skills. The need is urgent. The barriers are real. But the opportunity for impact is extraordinary.
And this is where you come in......
Volunteer Project Manager (Short‑Term, High‑Impact Role)
Help us build a charity from the ground up
We’re looking for a proactive, organised and mission‑driven Volunteer Project Manager to help us set up and launch our new charity. This is a rare chance to be the first operational volunteer joining the Founder and a small team of designers at the earliest, most exciting stage of our journey.
This is not just a role — it’s a chance to shape the foundations of an organisation that will support thousands of adults across the UK.
You will work directly with the Founder to:
-
Build clear project plans, timelines and action lists for our launch
-
Create simple, effective early systems, workflows and operational processes
-
Track progress, identify risks and keep the Founder focused on what matters most
-
Coordinate tasks across design, operations, service development and early marketing
-
Support the recruitment of our wider volunteer team
-
Influence the structure, strategy and foundations of a brand‑new social‑mobility charity
Your work will directly determine how quickly we can begin delivering life‑changing support to adults who face the highest barriers to employment and skills.
Who we’re looking for
You’ll thrive in this role if you are:
-
Experienced in project management, operations or organisational planning
-
Someone who brings structure, clarity and calm to fast‑moving environments
-
A builder — someone who enjoys creating order from ambiguity
-
Deeply passionate about fairness, opportunity and social mobility
-
Able to commit time over the next few weeks or months to help us reach launch
If you choose to stay on after the launch, we’d love that — but this particular project is focused on the start‑up phase.
Why this role matters
This is your chance to be part of something at the moment it begins. You won’t just be managing tasks — you’ll be shaping a charity designed to unlock potential for people who have been overlooked for far too long.
- If you want to use your skills to create real, lasting social impact…
- If you want to help build something meaningful from the ground up…
- If you believe that where someone starts should never limit where they can go…
We’d love to hear from you.

They oversee the overall management and administration of the charity ensuring that MenWalkTalk has a clear strategy and that our work and goals are in line with our vision. Just as importantly, they support and challenge the executive team to enable MenWalkTalk to grow and thrive, and through this, achieve our mission.
Board members have a collective responsibility. This means that Trustees always act as a group and not as individuals.
Duties:

- Approve operational strategies and policies, and monitor and evaluate their implementation.

- Contribute to regular reviews of MenWalkTalk’s own governance. Attend Board meetings, adequately prepared to contribute to discussions.
- Use independent judgment, acting legally and in good faith to promote and protect MenWalkTalk’s interests, to the exclusion of their own personal and/or any third party interests.
- Contribute to the broader promotion of MenWalkTalk’s objects, aims and reputation by applying your skills, expertise, knowledge and contacts.
As a small charity, there will be times when the Trustees will need to be actively involved beyond Board meetings. This may involve scrutinising board papers, leading discussions, focusing on key issues, providing advice and guidance on new initiatives, presenting externally, or other issues in which the trustee has special expertise.
What we are looking for
We are looking for people willing to bring energy, enthusiasm and commitment to the role, and who will broaden the diversity of thinking on our board. The ideal candidates will have 3 or more years previous governance experience in the UK charity sector.

- Enthusiasm for our vision and mission.

Terms of office
- Trustees are appointed for a 3 year term of office.
- This is a voluntary position, but reasonable expenses are reimbursed.
Time commitment
- Attending 6-9 Board meetings annually. Currently meetings are held remotely each month.
- Attending 2 annual strategy / training days
Committee membership
Membership of at least one of the Trustee committees attending relevant meetings and reporting back to the Board.
To provide support to any adult male, whether they may have experienced, or are experiencing, a mental health issue or not.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
Could you become one of our Trustees to help guide our work?
World Horse Welfare’s volunteers help our work in many different ways, from lending a hand at one of our farms to joining our Council of Trustees. This elected group of professionals is responsible for the overall governance and strategy of our charity and, to do this effectively, our Council includes people with diverse areas of expertise, interests and backgrounds. In return for their time and knowledge, Trustees enjoy the opportunity to use and build their skills, attend a range of special events, become part of an outstanding network, and influence the direction of our charity.
We currently have two vacancies – for a practicing equine veterinary surgeon and for someone with significant experience in one or more of the following areas: fundraising, cybersecurity and data management (where equine experience would be a bonus, but you only need an empathy with our aims and an interest in helping to guide our work). We take pride in our values of being realistic in our approach, compassionate in our attitudes, and forward-thinking in anticipating challenge. The successful person will be expected to share these values.
The charity embraces a diversity of perspectives to inform our day-to-day work, and for this to be reflected in the membership of our Council. We encourage expressions of interest from currently under-represented groups, including people from a broad age range, LGBTQ+, ethnically diverse communities and people with disabilities.
World Horse Welfare’s vision is a world where every horse is treated with respect, compassion and understanding.

Ready to tell the story that changes the narrative?
At MINDSET, we’re not just another charity; we’re a brand-new movement for men’s mental wellbeing and personal growth across England and Wales. We’re tired of the clinical, "waiting room" energy. We need a Communications Lead to help us cut through the noise with bold, impactful content that finally speaks a language men actually respond to.
We’re looking for a creative storyteller who can capture the grit, the growth, and the real-world impact of what we do, turning our mission into a profile that gets recognised nationwide.
The Mission:
- The Narrative: Create powerful content that tells the authentic stories of the men we support—focusing on strength, resilience, and action rather than just hardship.
- The Megaphone: Lead our social media and digital presence (think Instagram for visuals, LinkedIn for partnerships, and TikTok for authentic, raw updates) to raise our profile.
- The Identity: Ensure MINDSET is seen as the go-to space for non-clinical growth, building a brand that feels like a community, not a service.
The Vibe:
We’re action-first and zero-fluff. You’ll have total creative freedom to ditch the "sad face" charity clichés and build a high-impact communication strategy from the ground up.
Sound like you?
If you’re a content pro who knows how to move an audience and wants to use those skills to spark a national conversation about men’s growth, let’s talk.
Tell the MINDSET Story
To empower men across England to take charge of their mental wellbeing and personal growth through connection, conversation, and community.

RSPCA Middlesbrough, Teesside & District Branch
We are looking for a Branch Trustee & Treasurer to help us manage the RSPCA Middlesbrough, Teesside and District Branch. As a Trustee you will be a full and equal member of our leadership team, making strategies, deciding what we focus on, how we raise and spend money, organising events, working as a team to improve animal welfare in our community. As Treasurer you will take the lead in ensuring compliance, control and sound financial management of the charity.

More importantly, we focus on raising funds, managing volunteers and spending money where it is needed to support animals in our community - YOUR community. So, whatever your background or skills there is a role you can play.

In addition, you will oversee external processes such as payroll, audit and reporting to HMRC and Charities Commission.

You will be an experienced finance professional (preferably a qualified accountant) who can provide expert financial leadership and translate complex topics for those without a finance background. You will bring the ability to lead people, motivate teams of volunteers, collaborate with partners and manage change. You will be able to understand complex topics, ask logical questions and be willing to hold an organisation accountable for fulfilling its responsibilities. You will be willing to roll up your sleeves and get stuck into the details, make decisions and speak up.
This is an exciting time to join us, as we undertake significant expansion and conversion to CIO. Your voice will be heard, and you can significantly influence the direction and focus of the charity. Together we can make a huge impact on animal welfare in our community.
Benefits to becoming a RSPCA Branch Trustee:
- Using your existing skills to do something useful and learning new ones.
- Delivering a real leadership experience.
- Creating real opportunities to improve animal welfare in our community.
- You’ll have access to the RSPCA Learning Hub and a wide range of training materials

Please note that Trustees must be at least 18 years of age. This is a volunteer role (reasonable expenses will be reimbursed).
How to find out more about being a Trustee
For more information on becoming a Charity Trustee and to ensure it is the right decision for you, we recommend reading the Charity Commission's guidance on the role of the trustee and the RSPCA website about Branch Trustees.

About Us
Cherry Trees is a charity. located in East Clandon (near Guildford, Surrey), providing home-from-home short breaks for children aged 0–19 with a range of complex disabilities, including learning, physical, and sensory impairments.
We are rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted and care for more than 100 children and young people in a safe, stimulating, and fun environment. At Cherry Trees, we see the child first and the disability second, valuing every child for who they are.
