This is an exciting opportunity to join the Board of Trustees of the RCN Foundation, an independent charity that supports and strengthens nursing and midwifery to improve the health and wellbeing of the nation.
Since 2010, the Foundation has provided hardship, education, research and innovation funding to thousands of nurses, midwives, nursing associates and healthcare support workers across the UK. As the Foundation continues to deliver its ambitious strategy, we are seeking to appoint two Trustees with senior-level expertise in finance, accounting and/or investment governance to join the Board from April 2027. One of the successful candidates will also serve as Chair of the Income Generation and Investment Committee.
You will join a committed Board, helping to shape the Foundation’s strategic direction and ensuring it continues to deliver meaningful impact for the nursing and midwifery professions.
Trustee and Chair - Income Generation and Investment Committee
You will bring significant experience in finance, accounting, investment management or strategic financial oversight, alongside experience of chairing boards, committees or similar governance groups.
As Chair of the Income Generation and Investment Committee, you will provide leadership and oversight across the Foundation’s investment portfolio, fundraising activity and wider income generation strategy. You will support the Board in ensuring the Foundation’s long-term financial sustainability and will also represent the Foundation on the RCN Group Audit Committee.
Trustee - Finance & Investment
You will bring senior financial leadership experience, with expertise in areas such as finance, accounting, investment management or financial governance.
You will provide support and constructive challenge on matters including financial sustainability, investment performance, reserves and longer-term planning, contributing to the work of both the Board and the Income Generation and Investment Committee.
In addition, all candidates will demonstrate:
• A commitment to the mission of the RCN Foundation and supporting the nursing and midwifery workforce
• Experience operating at Board, Committee or senior leadership level
• Strong strategic thinking, judgement and decision-making skills
• An understanding of charity governance and financial stewardship

Clergy Support Trust is the largest and oldest charity helping Anglican clergy and their families.
Founded in 1655 and with assets of over £110m, the charity provides financial grants, services and resources for serving and retired ministers, ordinands, and clergy families.
We are looking to appoint two outstanding new Trustees, to join the Board and the charity at this exciting moment. Specifically, we are eager to hear from candidates with experience of at least one, ideally more, of the following areas:
Increasingly, the Trust also advocates for clergy, as well as acting to support them, which recently contributed to a 10.7% rise in the basic clergy stipend across England. In 2026, we published a new three-year strategy focussed on “going upstream” – understanding better the root causes of challenges facing clergy, supporting those in new ways and offering a broader programme to empower clergy, while focussing our grants on those in the greatest need.
Although the charity’s excellent relationships with the Church of England and other Anglican Provinces are important, the Trust is proudly independent, and offers a confidential service to those seeking its help.
The Board of Trustees – referred to in our Royal Charter as the Court of Assistants - is responsible for setting the charity’s strategy and vision, for overseeing the work of its Chief Executive, and for scrutinising performance. There is an occupational requirement for Trustees to be supportive of the Trust’s Anglican ethos and identity (but not to be practising Anglicans).
The charity’s operations, profile and programme have grown significantly in recent years, and a key element of the Court’s role is to support, challenge and affirm the work of the charity’s executive leadership team. Trustee's main takes and accountabilities include:
We hope for candidates who bring some experience and understanding of the charity sector, as well as a genuine and active passion for the important work which the Trust does. Strong candidates will have an ability to think strategically about the current and future needs of our applicants, and how best to meet those in a challenging and changing climate. They will understand and represent the Nolan Principles of public life, and the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of charity trusteeship. The Court takes seriously and wishes to reflect the glorious diversity of God’s Church,

The Court meets four times per year; in-person attendance is expected at those meetings (usually in central London), as well as for an annual twenty-four-hour awayday, normally in February. All Trustees are asked to serve on two of the five sub-committees, which meet four times a year, where online attendance is usual (though in-person attendance welcomed). Trustees are encouraged (but not required) to be present at our annual Festival in St Paul’s Cathedral each May.

Local Governors sit within the Trust’s overall governance structure. The Department for Education sets out that in an academy trust, the purpose of governance is to provide:

The board has collective accountability and strategic responsibility for the trust. It has a focus on ensuring the trust delivers an excellent education to pupils while maintaining effective financial management and must ensure compliance with:

Members ensure that the Board of Trustees and governance generally functions well.
Key responsibilities will include:
Directing Trustees: In rare events, Members can, by special resolution, direct Trustees to take a specific action where Trustees are unable, or unwilling to act in the best interests of the Trust.
Appointing and removing Members and Trustees: Subject to the Articles of Association and Terms of References, all Members and most Trustees are appointed by existing Members.
Amending the Articles of Association: Members can amend the Articles of Association (in some cases, subject to Charity Commission approval), change the name of the Trust and wind it up. Local governance arrangements.
Appointing auditors: Members appoint auditors to carry out the annual external audit function. Internal auditors are appointed by trustees.

How much time do you need to give?
Trustee boards usually meet in the evenings to accommodate the needs of trustees, and you’ll likely need to give a few hours a month to read papers and support the board. Additional time may be required for committee work or specific projects. You may need to attend other meetings if you’re involved in specific projects, or meet with volunteers and staff occasionally within the local Citizens Advice. We can be flexible about the time spent, so come and talk to us.

Role: Director of National Impact
Job Description:
Youth Advantage UK is seeking a volunteer Director of National Impact to develop and lead its National Impact Directorate in identifying and delivering on opportunities for the organisation to grow its impact. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the Directorate’s two Departments (Research and Project) produce high-quality research and related projects and events able to influence decision-making and policy on a national scale in line with the organisation’s strategic priorities. Responsibilities:
● In line with the organisation’s strategic priorities, to lead the National Impact Directorate in designing, developing and implementing impactful research and project objectives.
● To line manage the Head of the National Impact Research Department and the Head of the National Impact Project Department, supporting them to effectively manage their own teams and to develop and implement the frameworks necessary for producing top quality research output (including academic articles) and subsequent events, campaigns and project relating to research findings and organisational strategy respectively.

About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head of Fundraising to lead and develop our fundraising strategy at a crucial time in Youth Advantage UK's growth. Reporting to the CEO, you’ll oversee a multi-disciplinary fundraising team and play a key role in shaping our strategy to secure the resources needed to support our mission.

About the role
As FRAC Chair, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Board to make confident strategic financial decisions, steward resources responsibly and respond effectively to a changing commissioning landscape. Working closely with the CEO, Deputy CEO and Director of Finance & IT, you will lead Committee oversight across:
• External audit
• Financial risk management
• Internal scrutiny and control
• Statutory, tax and Charity Commission compliance
• Treasury and investment strategy
Alongside this, you will share collective responsibility with fellow Trustees for the strategic direction, governance and integrity of the charity.
About you
You are a qualified accountant with senior-level experience in finance, audit, risk or governance (for example, as a CFO, Finance Director, Finance Partner, Audit Partner or senior risk leader). You bring a strong grasp of financial management, internal control and risk, the ability to interpret complex financial information and challenge constructively, and the interpersonal skills to build positive relationships across the Board and Executive.
Experience in the charity or not-for-profit sector, knowledge of Charities SORP (FRS 102), and previous Trustee or non-executive experience would be highly welcome but are not essential.
While this role is open to people of all faiths and none, as a Catholic charity Pact seeks Trustees whose personal values are aligned with our ethos, including our commitment to ethical investment.
Practicalities
• Term: 3 or 4 years by mutual agreement, renewable up to a maximum of 10 years

The ideal volunteer will have experience developing media strategies, crafting press materials, and engaging journalists to build consistent and positive media presence.
Project Brief:
Travel Hands has built strong community trust and meaningful partnerships but now needs dedicated PR expertise to amplify its story and impact through the media. The organisation connects visually impaired people (VIPs) with trained Guides for safe and enjoyable walks across London — a service already featured by Forbes, ESA Business Applications, and Ability Today. Despite completing over 1,300 successful journeys and seeing growing demand from VIPs, traditional volunteer recruitment methods have not proven effective, leading to a shortage of Guides. A structured PR strategy is essential to increase public awareness and help meet their need for volunteers.
