Our partner is an international development charity working across sub-Saharan Africa to support people with limb loss through access to prosthetic services, peer support, and sustainable locally led programmes.

The Treasurer will work with the Board, Director and a part time accountant to oversee the charity’s financial management and governance. Responsibilities include reviewing management accounts and budgets, supporting the preparation of annual financial statements, chairing the Finance Committee, and advising the Board on financial strategy and risk.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with senior experience in finance, audit or accountancy. You will be comfortable operating at board level, able to explain financial information clearly to non financial trustees, and motivated by values led work in international development.

This role involves a time commitment of around 20 to 30 hours per year, including quarterly online Board and Finance Committee meetings.

The Say Aphasia charity provides support groups across the UK for people with aphasia; a language and communication disability caused by a brain injury like a stroke. Aphasia affects over 350,000 people in the UK but is little understood or known about by the public. It is the only aphasia charity set up by people with aphasia for people with aphasia; helping them to adapt to their new way of life and regain their independence and confidence.

Aphasia occurs due to injury to the brain such as a stroke. It affects access to language, resulting in difficulties following conversations, speaking, reading and writing.

Volunteers will support the running of the group with communicating, and will have the opportunity to utilise their communication skills and IT knowledge to take a register of attendance.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and support to individuals, particularly those living with asphasia.
• Assist in organising activities that promote social interaction and engagement.
• Communicate effectively with participants, ensuring their needs are understood and met.
• Help maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all participants.
• Collaborate with other volunteers to enhance the group.

Qualifications

• An understanding or knowledge in aphasia is desirable but not essential (training will be given)
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse groups.

We are looking for our next Regional Finance Support/Treasurer to join the RDA North West Region’s committee. Are you:

RDA is a National Charity which operates with a vast network of volunteers (as well as staff at National Office) to give direction and support to RDA Groups throughout the UK who provide opportunities for therapy, achievement and enjoyment for disabled participants through horses.Over 39,000 participants are supported a year.In addition to horse riding, and carriage driving, the charity offers other activities such as “Tea with a Pony” for those affected by dementia.There are 21 RDA groups in the North West Region, which are each independent charities federated to RDA.

Each Region has a Regional Committee formed of regional and county volunteers. Regional Committees help support the Groups with their RDA activities; promote the work of the RDA within their Region and play a vital role in organising the Regional Show and the Regional Conference.The Region funds its work from fundraising and donations.

One key role within the Regional Committee is the Regional Treasurer.The role, in the North West. is currently undertaken by a Cheshire based accountant who is looking to step down after nearly 10 years.

• The role takes around 2-3 hours a month and is not very onerous.
• Quarterly reports and budgets, for National Office, are prepared in conjunction with our Regional Chair (Sheila Saner).A finance report is also circulated to our Regional Committee before their quarterly (approx.) meetings.  Most meetings are on Zoom or MS Teams, so the role can be done remotely.
• There is a quarterly zoom meeting with the Finance Director, at National Office, who updates Regional Treasurers.The meeting lasts around an hour.
• You will be involved in any finance discussions with the Regional Committee, including any grants to be made to Groups from the Region’s funds.
• You will oversee investments held by the Region.
• The Finance Support/Treasurer pays any expenses to Regional Officers through Bankline (our Regional Chair then authorises them).There are only 10 Regional Officers. 

We are lucky to have a wonderful group of supportive volunteers on the Regional Committee and there is normally someone who will step up to assist if someone else can’t make a meeting or are struggling with other commitments.

Our current Regional Treasurer is happy to provide a full handover to the incoming Treasurer and answer any questions about the role.

The Role

We are seeking a proactive, organised, and supportive Volunteer Campaign Support Coordinator to oversee and assist with live prize draw campaigns on the platform.

This role focuses on ensuring creators feel supported throughout their campaign, that key communications are delivered on time, and that each live draw runs as smoothly and successfully as possible.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and support all live prize draw campaigns on the platform

• Liaise with creators throughout the live campaign period to provide encouragement, guidance, and practical support

• Schedule, diarise, and send campaign communications using approved templates

Social Support Volunteer (Mentor)

This role offers one-to-one support to people experiencing issues with housing, healthcare, benefits, and employment. You will support individuals, helping them to access accommodation, secure financial support, improve their health and wellbeing, and develop employability skills.

What will you be doing?

You will support individuals to navigate complex systems such as housing, benefits and healthcare, offering practical help with forms and appointments in a respectful and confidential way. Work closely with partners including SIFA Fireside, Room Match, Tabor House and Street Link, and support people with CVs, job applications and work experience. You will also be involved in community engagement, raising awareness of homelessness and maintaining accurate, confidential records.

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone with strong interpersonal skills who communicates respectfully and has a genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable people. You’ll be organised and able to manage time, records and appointments effectively, while working well as part of a team to provide joined-up support. Patience, emotional intelligence and a solutions-focused mindset are essential. Knowledge of benefits, housing or local support systems is beneficial but not essential.

This role provides a telephone listening and support service to bereaved carers’ and family members whose relatives died under the care of The Hospice of St Francis. Last year our Bereavement Support Line volunteers made over 1,000 calls.

Autistic Parents UK is seeking dedicated volunteers to join our incredible team. We are a fully user-led registered charity, offering peer support, webinars, training, signposting and resources on lived Autistic parenthood.

This role involves supporting small, topic-based video peer support groups for Autistic parents . Volunteers work alongside a lead peer supporter, acting as a second group supporter to help sessions run smoothly and ensure participants feel welcomed, supported, and able to take part.

The role focuses on peer support, shared experience, and gentle co-facilitation, rather than leading or moderating the group.

Key Responsibilities:

• Attend scheduled video peer support group sessions alongside a lead peer supporter.

• Support the facilitation of group discussions by encouraging participation and helping conversations flow naturally.

• Help create a warm, inclusive, and supportive environment where participants feel safe to share.

• Offer empathetic peer support and appropriate contributions based on lived experience, where relevant.

• Provide light technical support during sessions where needed (for example, helping participants with audio, video, or platform features).

• Support group structure by helping to keep discussions aligned with the session topic and time boundaries.

• Raise any wellbeing, safeguarding, or technical concerns to the lead peer supporter or staff member as appropriate.

We aim to match volunteers with group topics that align with their interests and experiences wherever possible. Groups include EHCP's and Working with professionals, Parenting Teens, 0-5's. We are particularly keen to hear from people who would be able to support a group for those who identify as "Dad's and Father's"

This is a flexible, remote volunteering opportunity. Volunteers are asked to attend agreed video sessions, with regular or occasional commitment discussed in advance. Expected time commitment 1-2 hours a month.
