The collection includes books, periodicals, and theses on art, history and design. Role Description
Catalogue at item level, following data input policies, on collections management system CollectionsIndex+ to support improved access to the library and reference collection.
Cross check information on Collections Index + with index cards to include all relevant historic information.
Work alongside the Archive team and experienced volunteers to support the Archive’s daily work, including conservation and research support.
There is an opportunity to create a short article and related social media content about your experience of working with the collection.

Full training and support will be given on all aspects of the role. No previous experience necessary.
We are able to facilitate a flexible work schedule based on the individual’s existing responsibilities. For a student placement, we require a minimum of 10 days to provide meaningful work experience.
Some online training on cataloguing, the history of Warner & Sons, and collections care will be required prior to the student’s start date.
The role is not remote and will require travel to Warner Textile Archive, Silks Way, Braintree, Essex, CM7 3GB. We have a travel bursary of up to £50 per day which is able to offer support with travel costs and £5 per day for subsistence.

The Warner Textile Archive is a significant collection of design, business, economic and social history of textile manufacturing firm Warner & Sons, based in Braintree between the dates of 1870 – 2001. The Warner Textile Archive is the largest collection of an individual textile manufacturer available in the public domain in the United Kingdom. We hold over 100,000 administrative records, paper designs, trial samples, manufacturing equipment and textiles of Warner & Sons, their predecessors and successors, illustrating how furnishing textile manufacturing changed over more than 150 years.

We’ve got an exciting opportunity for a volunteer to support our Fundraising Team!
Role Description
We are looking for one or two Christmas fair coordinators. Our Christmas Fair is a large festive community fundraising event held at Warmley Community Centre, running across a single Sunday in late November from 10.30am to 4pm. It brings together our own Bristol A.R.C. stalls alongside third party stallholders, and includes a festive pet photoshoot, a dog show, live music, a bake sale, raffle and tombolas, refreshments and children’s activities. It is one of our key community events of the year and a really lovely day out for local people and their pets.
This is an event coordination volunteer role leading on the organising of the fair, with the help and support of the Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager and the Fundraising Partnerships Officer in the office, as well as some other volunteers supporting the event.
This will be the fair’s second year, so a full and detailed handover is already in place, along with ongoing support from the two staff members named above and a group of volunteers who have helped to organise it before.

How are the shifts arranged, and how often would I volunteer?
This is a short term role running from September to late November, Initially your shift would be typically once a week, on the same day at the same time. We’re looking for someone who is available on a Thursday, preferably. Occasionally during this time this role will involve some evening availability, mainly for speaking with the wider volunteer team and for the craft and preparation evenings in the lead up to the event. You would ideally be available for the full day of the fair itself, which runs on a Sunday in late November, with an early start for set up.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial analysis or accounting, ideally with a professional accountancy qualification.The role involves working with our contracted Bookkeeper and Development Manager to monitor and oversee the charity's finances month-to-month and to report to trustees at Board meetings. Read Easy provides free, confidential, one to-one reading coaching for adults who struggle with reading, through a network of volunteer groups. Read Easy groups are changing the lives of individual adults across the country by providing them with the support they need to learn to read, and in turn opening doors for them to all sorts of new opportunities in life. You will be helping your local community understand what a Read Easy group does; how local people can get the reading support they need; and how volunteers can help. There are two distinct forms of publicity, one requiring raising awareness by giving talks, putting up posters and talking to people generally about Read Easy. The second is using social media effectively to raise awareness and publicise your group. This roleis commonly supported by other members of
the team, with specific skills to offer.
What you will be doing
● Liaising with the Management Team to decide on the group’s publicity needs.
● Creating content for your group’s page on the Read Easy website.
● Being instrumental in raising awareness by giving talks, putting up posters and talking to people generally about Read Easy.
● Setting up and/or maintaining the group’s Facebook page, Twitter and/or other social media platforms to raise your group’s profile.
● Becoming familiar with the resources available to you on the Read Easy website.
● Organising the printing and placement of posters, leaflets, and other publicity materials.
● Identifying any specific opportunities for publicity in the local media.
● Ensuring that you have written permission from all parties to use any such material for the purposes you intend.
● Providing stories and photographs for the Read Easy UK website and newsletter about your group’s activities and achievements.
● Following ‘Read Easy Brand Guidelines’ to preserve a clearly recognisable and consistent Read Easy identity.
● Attending Management Team meetings, typically every six to eight weeks.
