Rec Rock Directors

RecRock is looking for new Directors

We’re looking for a few new people to join the RecRock board and help us through the next stage of the organisation.

RecRock has been running community music projects across South Wales for over 13 years. We’ve grown significantly in that time, and we now want to strengthen our board with some additional skills and experience. We build skills and confidence using music as a tool to develop digital skills and improve community cohesion.

Chair

We’re particularly looking for a strong Chair who can help lead the board and support RecRock through a period of growth.

We’re looking for someone who can:

• Lead effective and focused board meetings

• Help set the strategic direction of the organisation

• Provide support and challenge when needed

• Make sure good governance is in place

• Help the board make clear decisions

• Support the organisation through growth and change

• Bring people together and make sure different voices are heard

Previous experience as a Chair or Director would be useful, although we’re open to people with relevant leadership experience elsewhere.

Director – Finance

We’d also really like to add more financial experience to the board.

We’re looking for someone with experience in areas such as:

• Financial management

• Budgeting and forecasting

• Management accounts

• Cash flow

• Financial controls

• Social enterprise finance

• Helping a board understand financial information and make informed decisions

You don’t necessarily need previous board experience.

Other Directors

We’re also interested in hearing from people with skills or experience in:

• Fundraising and income generation

• HR and people management

• Governance

• Business development

• Community development

• Marketing and communications

• Music, arts and the creative industries

These are voluntary positions. Directors will attend board meetings and provide some support or advice between meetings where appropriate.

You don’t need to be a musician. We’re looking for people who like what RecRock is trying to achieve and want to use their experience to help us build a strong organisation for the future.
