About the Role

Baobab Foundation operates through two closely connected Community Benefit Societies: the By and For Community Fund, which is the registered charitable entity, and the By and For Foundation, which is the non-charitable entity. Together, these two legal entities provide the structural flexibility needed to advance Baobab’s mission for radical racial justice.

Baobab is governed by a Board of Trustees, who are responsible for ensuring that the organisation operates in a way that advances racial justice, centres Black and Global Majority communities, and remains rooted in Baobab’s values of Unity, Justice and Freedom.

Trustees work in partnership with the PT (Project Team) and Baobab’s members. The PT Team leads the day-to-day coordination and delivery of Baobab’s operational activities, while trustees focus on governance and collective accountability. Together, trustees, PT team  and members each play distinct but complementary roles in ensuring that Baobab remains values-led, member-centred and effective in advancing its mission for radical racial justice.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Baobab strives to model a different way of working that enables people to be accepted as  their full selves. For a horizontal structure to be effective, we ask all Baobab Trustees to commit fully to the principles of Justice, Freedom and Unity and work with integrity, openness and care. We encourage  those in the space to hold themselves and co-workers accountable in an equitable way, leading and making decisions within their remit, holding themselves accountable for their work and behaviour towards others and communicating transparently and openly. Maintaining a strong decolonial and horizontal organisational structure requires Trustees to commit to collective accountability within the team. 

All those working for Baobab must adhere to the code of conduct and all policies, procedures and processes. in order for us to equitably  realise our radical and decolonial aims of resourcing  Black and Global Majority communities with integrity, cohesion and care.

• Strong governance experience, including legal, financial and regulatory oversight.

Time Commitment 

We recognise that trustees contribute their time, expertise and networks alongside other commitments. We anticipate an average commitment of approximately 10 hours per month, with some flexibility depending on current priorities and areas of involvement.

This is expected to include:

• Attendance at  Board meetings;

• Preparation and review of Board papers and other key documents;

• Participation in occasional working groups; and

• Ad hoc strategic support where relevant.

Remuneration

In line with its status as a charitable BenCom, By and For Community Fund trustees serve in a voluntary, unpaid capacity. Reasonable expenses incurred in fulfilling the role will be reimbursed in line with Baobab’s expenses policy, and accessibility support and reasonable adjustments will be provided to enable full participation.

Women on the Frontline Ministries (WOFM) is a registered charity supporting women who have experienced domestic abuse, sexual exploitation through street-based prostitution, trafficking and other vulnerabilities. We offer outreach, a weekly drop-in, casework and relationship-based support to women who are too often neglected and stigmatised. We are looking for an experienced, motivated volunteer fundraiser to help us grow our income, raise awareness of the women we serve, and make sure this work can continue.

About us

WOFM exists to bring dignity, safety and hope to vulnerable and exploited women in East London. Our work is practical and relational: meeting women where they are, building trust over time, and walking with them towards a more stable future. We are a small, dynamic team making a real and lasting difference and our reach depends on the generosity of those who fund it.

The role

As our Volunteer Fundraiser, you will help shape and deliver our fundraising strategy and turn it into real income. You will be a key part of securing the resources that sustain and grow our frontline support for women. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys both planning and doing — and who wants their skills to count for something that matters.

What you'll do

• Help develop and deliver WOFM’s fundraising strategy and annual income goals.

• Research and identify funding opportunities — grants, trusts, foundations, corporate partners and community giving.

• Support the writing and submission of compelling funding applications and proposals.

• Help plan and run fundraising initiatives, appeals and awareness campaigns.

• Build and nurture relationships with donors, supporters and local partners.

• Help raise the profile of WOFM and the plight of the women we serve.

We are Alex, The Leukodystrophy Charity (Alex TLC).

Alex TLC is a trusted and experienced organisation offering support and information for all those affected by a genetic leukodystrophy. Formerly ALD Life, an internationally recognised centre of excellence for people affected by adrenoleukodystrophy and adrenomyeloneuropathy, the charity was established in 2004.

Due to popular demand, we extended our services to support all leukodystrophies in 2019 and became Alex, The Leukodystrophy Charity.

Like many other small charities, we have grown organically from an informal support group to the recognised voice for adrenoleukodystrophy patients and their families. Our charitable work is supported by our chain of five charity shops across south east London.

With scant resources we are always in need of trustworthy and reliable volunteers to assist retail staff.

Who We Are Looking For:

Travel Hands is seeking a Skilled Volunteer with expertise in Public Relations to help shape and implement a targeted PR strategy that raises awareness of their work. The ideal volunteer will have experience developing media strategies, crafting press materials, and engaging journalists to build consistent and positive media presence.

Project Brief:

Travel Hands has built strong community trust and meaningful partnerships but now needs dedicated PR expertise to amplify its story and impact through the media. The organisation connects visually impaired people (VIPs) with trained Guides for safe and enjoyable walks across London — a service already featured by Forbes, ESA Business Applications, and Ability Today. Despite completing over 1,300 successful journeys and seeing growing demand from VIPs, traditional volunteer recruitment methods have not proven effective, leading to a shortage of Guides. A structured PR strategy is essential to increase public awareness and help meet their need for volunteers.

The Skilled Volunteer will:

• Develop a PR strategy and media outreach plan – identifying key journalists, media outlets, and storytelling opportunities for Travel Hands.
• Create press materials – including press releases, media kits, and pitch templates that showcase success stories and partnerships.
• Provide PR training for the internal team – ensuring they can confidently continue proactive media efforts beyond the project.

Sport for Social Impact

We believe that sport can be a powerful conduit for social change - from the grassroots.In sport we are challenging gender stereotypes. With a focus on locally led interventions in protected settings, our initiatives integrate physical activity and nutrition, that focuses on facilitating grassroots initiatives in driving forward attitudes to gender in communities, by sport empowerment, and fostering literacy outcomes for girls at risk, or affected by GBV, trauma, FGM, and child marriage. We work to empower girls in some of the world's hardest to reach settings.

3. Job Description: Fundraising Trustee

Role Purpose:

The Fundraising Trustee will advise the board and head of programmes in the provision of strategic oversight of our income generation, ensuring Girls in Sport has the resources needed to sustain its international programmes. You will oversee the development of a diverse funding mix, with a specific focus on high-value partnerships and institutional grants.

Key Responsibilities:

• Governance: Act as a member of the Board of Trustees, sharing legal and financial responsibility for the charity’s management.
• Fundraising Strategy: Provide advice and support on strategy, focusing on Trusts & Foundations, Major Donors, and Corporate Partnerships.
• Income Generation: Champion fundraising at Board level and encourage supporters to contribute to income-generation efforts.

YHA (England & Wales) is recruiting new Trustees to guide us through an exciting and challenging period of transformation. We’re looking for people who believe in our mission, can bring fresh perspective, and want to help increase access to the outdoors, nature and heritage.

Whether you’re an experienced leader or taking your first steps into governance, we’d love you to take a look at the opportunity.

As a Trustee, you’ll prepare for and take part in Board meetings, asking important questions to help make key decisions. You’ll share legal responsibility for the charity.

• the forum to develop your skills and knowledge in key areas including principles of governance, financial management, strategic planning and problem solving

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and especially welcome applicants from young people under 30. These voices are currently under-represented on our Board. As a young people’s organisation, we are committed to changing that.

All successful applicants will receive a full induction and membership of an inclusive, welcoming Board.

We’re also looking to strengthen the Board with Trustees who bring strategic insight in one or more of the following areas:

• hospitality leadership

• data strategy, cyber security or business transformation

• proven senior leadership in a school or trust, bringing strong safeguarding leadership experience and well-established professional networks within education to support partnerships and strategic insight
