Since 1999, we've been dedicated to delivering health and social care to millions across Africa and the Diaspora, and now we're ready to elevate our impact further.
This year, we're embarking on a mission to broaden our funding strategy by incorporating bids and tenders. Our goal is to engage with the governments in Africa and the UK, the public sector, and the public, providing essential practical and emotional support to those facing chronic conditions. There are numerous exciting possibilities ahead, including central government tenders, as well as local and statutory opportunities. We're eager to explore them all.
In this pivotal role, you'll assist the Bid Manager in planning and executing our bids and tender writing, ensuring our bid proposals not only shine but also come to life in meaningful ways. What difference will you make?
In this exciting role, you will lead the strategic effort to win new business through competitive bids, tenders, and proposals, ultimately driving AHO's success. Your specialised knowledge will enhance our win rates and maximise revenue by bringing clarity, quality, and coordination to what can be a complex and high-stakes journey.
Your primary mission is to boost AHO's tender win rates and strengthen our strategic advantage. By diligently overseeing each step of the bidding process—from initial evaluation to final submission—you will significantly improve the quality and persuasion of our proposals, directly increasing our chances of securing valuable contracts.
You'll provide key insights to help the Bid Manager target the most promising opportunities by implementing a thoughtful "bid/no-bid" process. This approach will ensure we focus only on lucrative and winnable contracts that closely align with our strategic goals, ultimately saving time and resources and allowing us to prioritise high-potential projects.
In this role, you will orchestrate a well-coordinated process that drives operational efficiency. Acting as the central point of contact, you will gather input from diverse internal teams—sales, finance, legal, and technical experts—ensuring everyone collaborates smoothly to meet critical deadlines.
As a self-starter, you'll elevate the quality of our bid content. By overseeing the creation of compelling, polished materials, you'll ensure that our final submissions are professional, cohesive, and error-free. You will utilise a centralised content library filled with valuable resources, such as case studies and CVs, to streamline our efforts and enhance our proposals.
You will keep projects on track by developing detailed project plans and timelines, ensuring that all tasks are completed punctually—especially critical in the fast-paced environment of tender submissions. Your effective management will ease the workload for colleagues focused on their core responsibilities, allowing the entire team to shine.
To foster long-term business growth, you'll create a wealth of knowledge around our tenders and bids. By conducting insightful post-submission debriefs and analysing feedback, you will capture invaluable lessons from both successes and setbacks. This ongoing improvement process will enhance our bidding capabilities for future opportunities.
You can also enhance AHO's brand reputation by submitting well-organised, accurate, and compliant bids. By doing so, you'll showcase our professionalism and reliability to clients, building trust and solidifying our credible standing in the market.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about fundraising, social impact, and business development. If you're eager to apply your skills to drive meaningful change, we'd love to hear from you!

Help shape the future of hospital, health and wellbeing broadcasting across the UK.

This is an opportunity to use your financial skills and strategic insight to support a national charity that helps more than 140 hospital, health and wellbeing broadcasting organisations develop, collaborate and thrive.

We're looking for someone who:
Previous charity trustee experience is welcome but not essential, and we encourage applications from people with transferable financial expertise gained in the private, public or voluntary sectors.
Trustee responsibilities
As a Trustee, you will share collective responsibility for the governance, financial sustainability and strategic direction of the HBA.

We're looking for someone who is comfortable balancing strategic oversight with practical involvement in the organisation and who wants to play an active role in helping the charity grow and succeed.

The time commitment is approximately 4 hours per week on average, with some busier periods throughout the year.
The Trustee Board meets formally, in-person, every two months, usually on the third Saturday, with informal catch-up meetings taking place via Microsoft Teams on a weekday evening in the intervening months.
Location and travel
This role can be carried out from anywhere in the UK, with most Board business conducted online.
Trustees are expected to attend Board meetings and may occasionally be asked to attend sector events, including the HBA Annual Conference and Awards, meetings with stakeholders and visits to member organisations.
Reasonable travel and out-of-pocket expenses incurred while carrying out Trustee duties will be reimbursed in line with the Association's expenses policy.
Please note that we are not actively interviewing for this role at present. However, we reserve the right to close applications early should we receive a high volume of suitable applications.

An understanding of good governance, including risk, safeguarding and compliance (or a willingness to learn).
The ability to work collaboratively with trustees and our small operational support team, offering encouragement and constructive challenge while supporting the charity’s governance and fundraising role, which enables the specialist delivery work carried out by our partner.
Strategic thinking, with the ability to help shape the charity’s direction and ensure long‑term sustainability.
Reliability, integrity and a calm, steady approach, keeping the charity’s purpose at the centre of decision‑making.

Understanding of the Charity Commission’s governance requirements, and the balance of roles between governance and management.
Willingness to devote the necessary time and effort to support the charity.
Professional background related to ILP’s thematic areas of focus and familiarity with the non-profit sector working in an international context.
Commitment to ILP’s strategic objectives.
Good communication and people management skills and strong independent judgement.

As a member of the Audit and Risk Committee, you will support the Chapter, the Cathedral's governing body, in discharging its responsibilities as a registered charity and steward of public trust, overseeing external and internal audit functions, and the mitigation of financial, reputational, operational and safeguarding risks.
This is meaningful work in a truly unique setting, and we are seeking a committee member who can combine professional expertise with a collaborative spirit and a commitment to the Cathedral’s evolving mission. The UK Men’s Sheds Association is seeking a small number of new trustees, based anywhere in the UK. The role is voluntary (reasonable expenses are covered) but is an opportunity to be part of an engaged, effective and friendly Board of an important national charity.
While the roles are primarily as general trustees, there will also be opportunities to serve on one of our two formal sub-committees – Audit & Risk and People. We are also recruiting for a trustee to act as our Treasurer (a role-specific advert is on our website).
The UKMSA Board fulfils a governance function, ensuring we use our resources responsibly, and that we comply with our legal and regulatory obligations. As a trustee, you will play a key role in ensuring UKMSA’s sustainability and effectiveness, overseeing our strategy and governance, including ensuring we continue to operate to the public benefit. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to use their professional and personal expertise to make a meaningful difference to communities across the UK.
We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, and you do not need previous charity Board experience.
We regularly review the collective skills and experience of the Board members, and use this to inform recruitment. In particular, we are looking this time around for applicants who can bring significant charity or broader financial experience (not only for the Treasurer role but also to support our Audit & Risk function); experience of national or significant fundraising; and a background in HR or ‘people skills’. These are, however, not prescriptive and we welcome applications from anyone who feels they may have something to offer a medium-sized national charity which has significant impact which belies its size.
Our recruitment is also informed by our policies, especially our EDI and volunteering policies. While the Men’s Sheds movement itself has an understandable male focus, we are keen to maintain a truly diverse Board, both in terms of the protected characteristics under the Equalities Act and in terms of the diversity of experience and background our trustees bring. It is not a UKMSA policy per se, but we aim to maintain a balance of trustees who come from the Shedding movement alongside those who bring external perspectives. Trustees may be based in any part of the UK (we aim to have at least one trustee who is based in every one of the UK home nations).
We ask that all trustees explicitly sign up to their responsibilities, both statutory and regulatory, with a commitment to good governance and ethical leadership. We also expect a willingness to work collaboratively as part of a diverse and supportive Board, and as a constructive critical friend with the CEO and staff senior leadership team.
We are the support body for Men’s Sheds across the UK. We work hard to inspire and support the development of Men's Sheds.

Help shape the future of the UK's leading LGBT+ young people's charity.
From school bullying and family estrangement to inequality in the workplace, growing up LGBT+ is still unacceptably tough. We want every young person to have the opportunity to thrive and grow up knowing that being LGBT+ is something to be celebrated.
Since our founding, Just Like Us has grown significantly in both scale and impact. Today, 4 in 5 secondary schools and thousands of primaries across the UK engage with our programmes, we have the UK’s largest cohort of LGBT+ volunteers aged 18 to 25, and our annual income exceeds £1 million. We have published landmark research reports that shape public opinion and influence government policy, and built a network of 14,000+ teachers who support LGBT+ inclusive education.
As we enter our next phase of development, we are seeking an exceptional Chair to lead our Board of Trustees and help guide the organisation through a period of continued growth, increasing organisational maturity and evolving opportunities.
This is an opportunity to provide strategic leadership to an ambitious national charity at an exciting point in its development. We are looking for a Chair who can lead our Board with confidence and sound judgement, support our Chief Executive through the next phase of organisational growth, and help ensure we remain financially resilient, well governed and firmly focused on our mission.
While the Chair will be an important ambassador for the charity, this is first and foremost a governance leadership role. We are looking for someone who understands how effective Boards operate; who can foster constructive challenge and collaboration, and who enjoys helping organisations and people realise their potential.
You may already be an experienced Chair, Trustee or Non-Executive Director, or you may bring substantial executive leadership experience and have worked closely with Boards throughout your career. We welcome candidates with good knowledge of charity governance, from across the charity, education, health, public, commercial and wider social impact sectors who can demonstrate strategic leadership and sound judgement.
We are particularly interested in individuals who have experience of supporting organisations through growth and increasing organisational complexity, who understand the importance of balancing ambition with sustainability, and who can act as a trusted partner to both the board and Chief Executive.
A strong external profile and established networks may be valuable in helping us build partnerships and extend our reach, however, we are equally interested in candidates whose strength lies in leading boards, navigating complexity and building high-performing governance.
Most importantly, we are looking for someone who shares our commitment to improving the lives of LGBT+ young people. We would particularly welcome applications from candidates with lived experience as an LGBT+ person, recognising the valuable perspective this can bring to the role.
This is an unremunerated voluntary position, with reasonable expenses reimbursed. The expected commitment is approximately two per month, including board meetings, preparation, occasional committee meetings and representing the charity at key events.
If you are excited by the opportunity to help shape the future of an ambitious, values-led organisation making a tangible difference to the lives of LGBT+ young people across the UK, we would be delighted to hear from you.
