Volunteers are integral to the running of our London reserve and without their help we wouldn’t be able to maintain this amazing 105-acre wetland of international importance. Our volunteer team are friendly, motivated, and hard-working, and benefit from volunteering by gaining experience, meeting new like-minded people, and making a difference by helping to maintain our important wetland.
Managing a large wetland nature reserve requires a lot of practical, hands-on, physical tasks. With training and guidance, you will become part of our small and dedicated Reserve Support Team. Your role will be to provide regular support in all practical reserve management - including maintaining habitats, increasing species biodiversity, and ensuring the reserve and grounds look their best.
Volunteers are an essential part of the WWT team, and we wouldn’t be able to maintain our internationally important wetland sites without their help. You will receive a very warm welcome, full induction & training, and be provided with the necessary equipment, uniform, and anything else needed to thrive in your role.
This an ideal role for someone who is practical, has a can-do attitude, is happy to help in all weathers, and is physically fit. Having experience in habitat management would be helpful, but a keenness to learn is more important. It is a close-working team, but the ability to work under your own initiative and be self-motivated is also crucial. Having, or being willing to develop, the confidence to engage with our visitors about the work of WWT is also a key part of this role.

We’d love you to be part of our Information & Advice Service. As an Information Volunteer Assistant, you could be :
Welcoming and providing information to visitors
Ordering leaflets from various sources
Updating external contacts
Undertaking general administration
possibly dealing with straightforward signposting and information.

Volunteering with us is an excellent opportunity to gain new skills and work experience, explore this beautiful area of mid Wales and the Snowdonia National Park, and meet a range of interesting and friendly new people all working together on solutions to the climate and biodiversity emergency.
In this exciting residential placement, you will learn sustainable woodland management practices through hands-on practical tasks, help support our off-grid water and sanitation systems and make improvements around site using our natural resources. You will learn how to apply a variety of woodland management techniques and woodworking skills to support biodiversity across CAT’s managed woodland spaces.
Volunteering with the CAT Water and Woodland team helps to provide beautiful, healthy, diverse and peaceful outdoor spaces for visitors, educational groups and CAT staff to learn from and enjoy.

Welcome & Reception Volunteer Merseyside
Do you want to help people experiencing the housing emergency?
Information about the role
You’ll be an essential part of the team, welcoming clients and visitors to the hub. You’ll be providing information and key admin support that enables people to get the help they need with their housing.
Location: Holy Trinity Church, Richmond Park, Liverpool, Merseyside,
Suggested contribution: One day per week (can be flexible around your commitments).
