Job description

The Independent Chair role is a volunteer role providing strategic leadership and impartial governance across the Surrey Wellbeing Partnership (SWP). It has arisen following the retirement of our current chair. It also comes about at an exciting time as we move into a significant contract extension and having rolled out a digital reporting system. We are also about to publish the results of an independent evaluation of services, showing the huge impact SWP is having on the lives of our service users.

About You - You will be a Board-level leader seeking an opportunity to inspire and help take our partnership forward, continuing to make a real difference to young people and families. Ideally, you will have experience of delivering mental health support and will have a strong background in good governance and collaborative, strategic working. This key, vital role will involve working alongside SWP's Chief Executive and leading our board of trustees, independent advisors and members. You will have a commitment to equality and diversity and a passion for improving lives.

This is an unremunerated role, but it is eligible for appropriate expenses. You will lead the board, chairing a quarterly board meeting and there is a broad expectation of providing 3-5 days per month. Board meetings are in-person and held in the Guildford, Surrey area.
