Help Us Run a Standout Impact Event

We're looking for an Events/  Marketing Professional with ideally three years’ experience in events and /or digital marketing, ideally in a high net worth/ philanthropy/luxury goods environment. Your chance to maximise funds going to education for underprivileged children & young people in the UK, the US and globally.

Your first project is to plan and deliver a private, curated event connecting ca. 20 high-net-worth donors with female entrepreneurs in Africa. The focus is on creating a warm, well-run setting that supports meaningful conversation and long-term relationships. You will manage the event end-to-end, including venue selection, partner liaison, logistics, invitations, guest lists, and design of event materials, ensuring a smooth and professional experience throughout.

With this event, you will secure new supporters for an international charity working across sub-Saharan Africa to support girls from the most marginalised communities to go to school, succeed, and transition into livelihoods.  
You will also build the reputation of Greater Share  - a pioneering philanthropic investment platform.

You’ll be working alongside our Business Operations Manager, with support from the CEO, trustees, and the wider fundraising volunteer group, to bring energy and fresh ideas to everything from annual events and community campaigns to grant applications and local partnerships.

• Contributing to grant research and application processes 

• Generating creative fundraising ideas with the team

Volunteer Administrator

British Liver Trust | Central Winchester

In the UK there are more than 11,000 deaths due to liver disease each year. British Liver Trust is determined to achieve real change in liver health and during our busiest period ever, we’re looking for volunteers to support our small, friendly Admin Team within the Operations Department. 

You might be looking for a meaningful way to use your skills, stay professionally active, or gain hands-on experience in an office environment.  Whether you're looking to build your CV, you're between roles, or you're looking to contribute your time to a cause that really matters, we’d love to hear from you.

The role

This is a varied, practical role supporting a busy office. You’ll be involved in the day-to-day administrative work that keeps things running smoothly, particularly when workloads are high. Examples of tasks include:

• Order fulfilment; picking, packing patient booklets and materials, preparing to be posted

• Supporting the team preparing for upcoming events; travel arrangements, accommodation, venues, catering

• General admin; filing, stock taking, shredding, scanning

While this is a volunteer role, the work is meaningful, active, and very much part of the core team.   You don’t need to have worked in a charity before - you just need a positive attitude, reliability, and a willingness to get involved.

You’ll be based in our welcoming office in central Winchester, just a 5–10 minute walk from the train station. Please note there is no free on-site parking.

Our Admin Team is small, friendly and collaborative. You’ll be joining us at a critical and exciting time, when extra hands genuinely make a difference.

A Good Thing is a not-for-profit set up with one mission: to send less to landfill, and more to a good cause. We're scaling fast right across the UK, with thousands of items being listed by businesses on our site, and are growing a network of passionate volunteers to support us as we grow.

You’ll be using your website management skills (and ideally Squarespace skills) to help us keep the website current, making changes and implementing updates. You’ll be working with other volunteers, plus the A Good Thing team.

You’ll be uploading new content to the website as it’s created (mostly blogs), and often using Canva to create graphics to accompany this content. Come with us on our journey towards reducing waste and boosting wonderful local charities at the same time.

You’ll need:

Inpatient Mealtime Support Volunteer

Time Requirement: Mondays to Saturdays 10.30am to 1.30pm and 3.30pm to 6.00pm. Sundays 4.00pm to 6.00pm

Role Summary

We are looking for volunteers to assist our kitchen staff in general kitchen tasks and in delivering meals and refreshments to our patients. We are looking for volunteers that are able to help us during the times listed opposite. This role requires someone with good communication and empathy skills.

Key Responsibilities

• To deliver meals and refreshments to our patients
• To set up trays and push the trolley to the inpatient Unit
• To provide a warm, friendly, compassionate and sensitive service
• Good communication skills to be able to communicate to patients, families and staff in a respectful and courteous manner

Training requirements:

As a IPU Meal Support Volunteer you will complete the following training:

• Teesside Hospice mandatory training
• Volunteer induction training
• Any other training identified as appropriate to the role

Support and supervision:

You will be assisted by our Facilities team leaders who will ensure that you have all the support you require to carry out the role.

Communications:

The Facilities team leaders will regularly provide you with any information updates, training opportunities and upcoming events appropriate to your role.

• Keeping the shop floor well stocked, tidy, clean and organised
• Processing sales and serving on the till

• Acting as an ambassador for Sense; promoting the shop and Sense in your local community
• Supporting with the recruitment and training of new volunteers
• Following new health and safety measures to ensure the safety of everyone
