Wyre Forest and South Worcestershire Nightstop and Mediation works with young people aged 16–25 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to build an independent and positive future.

About Nightstop

Nightstop provides emergency accommodation in the homes of trained and approved volunteer hosts. Rather than spending the night on the streets or in unsafe situations, young people are offered a temporary, safe place to stay while our team works to find appropriate longer-term accommodation and support.

As a Volunteer Nightstop Host, you'll never be working alone. Our experienced team provides ongoing guidance and support throughout every placement.

What You'll Do

As a Nightstop Host, you'll:

• Provide a clean, safe and private bedroom for a young person needing emergency overnight accommodation.
• Offer an evening meal, breakfast and a packed lunch.
• Give access to bathroom facilities and laundry if needed.
• Stay in regular contact with the Nightstop team before, during and after placements.
• Maintain appropriate professional boundaries while providing a welcoming environment.

Placements are short-term and arranged around your availability.

We are recruiting a new Chair of Trustees to lead our Board and support the next stage of our charity’s development.

We are now seeking a Chair of Trustees to help guide the charity through its next stage of development, including shaping our emerging Family Foundations project, a significant new early‑years initiative for the charity, alongside our ongoing portfolio of funded projects delivered through our specialist partner. The Froebel Trust is looking for two volunteers with a background in digital communications to join its Communications and Public Engagement Committee and help shape its work.

No previous committee experience is needed. You'll be supported to learn from others and to access training that suits your needs. You will need to commit around ten hours per year of voluntary time per year.

The Trust’s Communications and Public Engagement Committee members provide expertise in education, PR, marketing and communications. The committee advises the Trust’s Executive team on strategy and policy for the Froebel Trust's communication and public engagement activities. The committee reports to the Council of Trustees via the Communications and Public Engagement Committee Chair. 

Who we're looking for:

• An experienced communicator who can bring knowledge of digital communications tools and tactics, such as experience of using social media (Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn), websites, podcast and films to engage audiences.
• Ideally they will have a thoughtful approach to, and experience of AI tools
• Insight into the challenges and opportunities for communications in today’s rapidly changing digital world
• Interest in or experience of early childhood education
• Available to attend at least two 1.5 hour long meetings per year on Zoom, typically in March and October, with flexibility for an additional hour-long workshop style meeting. We also hold an annual training session for all Froebel Trust staff and volunteers, attendance is encouraged but optional.
• Experience of working in education and / or the charity sector, and knowledge of Froebelian principles is desirable but by no means essential.
• You will need to share our commitment to improving early years education.

What you'll do

• Attend at least two meetings per year to help shape the strategic direction of the charity’s communications activities with particular emphasis on digital communications.
• Support and challenge the Executive Team to develop and deliver a new communications strategy in line with the Trust’s new strategy for 2027-2030.

How it works

• The Trust’s Communications and Public Engagement Committee has at least three members at any one time. We are seeking to replace two members whose terms of office expire this year. The committee is chaired by a trustee.
• The Communications and Public Engagement Committee meets at least twice per year on Zoom.
• Most meetings are on Tuesdays or Wednesdays 12pm-1.30pm, typically in March and October, with flexibility for an additional session.
• Committee members are also invited to attend annual Froebel Trust whole team training for around two hours on Zoom. This is optional but attendance is encouraged.

Terms

• The role is voluntary and unpaid but out-of-pocket expenses are covered, if applicable.
• Members of the Committee are generally appointed for a three-year term, with renewal subject to Council agreement up to a maximum of six years. In exceptional circumstances and where there is a clear benefit to the Trust, a member’s term of office may be extended beyond the maximum of six years, subject to Council approval.

Why Does Roots Academy Exist?

Crisis of Faith: 1 in 4 young Muslims are leaving the religion due to various factors, primarily the pervasive anti-religious content and temptations they encounter online and offline. 

Roots Academy exists to bridge this gap by providing a structured and transformative Islamic education that speaks directly to the needs and challenges of young Muslims today, delivered in an engaging and accessible form that removes barriers to access and provokes thought and action.

Role Summary.

Creators with Purpose is Roots Academy's community of Muslim student content creators - a hand-picked group of relatable, authentic voices using their platforms to reach and uplift Muslim students across the country.

To grow and sustain it, we're looking for a Community Manager to be the heartbeat of this community. You'll onboard new creators, run our content calendar and review process, and keep a thriving group of creators supported, inspired and consistently producing content that reaches the exact audience we exist to serve. This is a relationship-first role for someone who loves bringing people together around a shared mission.

Key tasks

• Community management - Own and energise our creator community keeping it warm, active and supportive; welcome new creators, spark introductions, and encourage creators to learn from and uplift one another.

• Onboarding - Identify and reach out to potential creators, run friendly 1-2-1 welcome calls, share the vision and welcome pack, and bring new creators into the fold with as low a barrier to entry as possible.

• Content coordination - Run the content calendar end-to-end: agree each creator's posting frequency and dates, keep the Notion tracker current.

• Creative support - Keep creators inspired with prompts, content ideas and themed series (e.g. Freshers, exam season), and offer tailored concepts to those who want them while protecting each creator's own style and voice.

• Mentorship & belonging - Coordinate regular calls with the team, and help every creator feel like a genuine part of Team Roots.

• Tracking & reporting - Track creator output and reach, monitor how creators are driving students toward Roots workshops, and report progress and feedback.

What we’re looking for

• Passion for Islamic education and the development of young Muslims. 

• A people person who builds genuine, warm relationships and makes others feel welcome.

• Organised and reliable - comfortable keeping plates spinning and keeping people on track.

• A feel for social media content and an instinct for what resonates with Muslim students.

• Self-starting and proactive - happy to take initiative rather than wait to be asked.

• No formal experience or qualifications required - just the right heart, attitude and willingness to learn.
