We are looking for a Volunteer Community Fundraiser to help Kingston Women’s Centre grow its community fundraising activity.

Kingston Women’s Centre provides affordable counselling and mental health support for women in our local community. At a time of rising demand for mental health services and increasing cost of living pressures, we believe access to support should never be a luxury, it should be available when it is needed most.

As a small charity with limited fundraising capacity, we are looking for someone who can bring creativity, initiative, and energy to help us identify and develop new community fundraising opportunities.

This is a new role with the opportunity to shape how Yananai builds its UK network, develops partnerships, generates funding and connects UK expertise and resources with our international programmes.

Working closely with the CEO and Deputy CEO, you’ll turn ambitious ideas into practical, sustainable programmes and build the relationships and infrastructure needed to make them happen.

What you’ll do

• Build and develop Yananai’s UK operations and partnership network from the ground up.
• Develop our UK Volunteering Access Portal, connecting universities, education providers, professionals, trainers and skilled volunteers with our international Community Learning Hubs.
• Lead the development of UK AI InfoHubs, creating accessible opportunities for communities to develop AI awareness, literacy and skills.
• Build strategic relationships with government, universities, schools, colleges, education providers, businesses, foundations, charities, professional bodies and community organisations.
• Identify and develop funding opportunities across grants, foundations, corporate partnerships and philanthropy.
• Develop compelling proposals, business cases and partnership opportunities.
• Build relationships that bring funding, expertise, volunteers, resources and programme opportunities into Yananai.
• Establish robust governance, safeguarding, risk and compliance systems.
• Build and lead a lean, high-performing UK team as the operation grows.
• Represent Project Yananai externally and help position the organisation within UK and international networks.

About you

We’re looking for a senior leader who is comfortable creating something where there isn’t an established blueprint.

Your background could be in charity, education, international development, social enterprise, technology, business, government or another mission-driven environment.

What matters most is your ability to build relationships, develop opportunities and turn strategy into action.

You’ll ideally bring experience across several of the following:

• Building or scaling a programme, organisation, education initiative or new organisational function.
• Developing strategic partnerships and/or securing funding.
• Working with government, universities, schools, colleges, corporates, foundations, charities or community organisations.
• Programme development and delivery, ideally with an international, education or social-impact focus.
• Senior stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
• Leading teams, budgets, governance and operational delivery.
• Turning strategy into action and taking ownership in an entrepreneurial environment.

You don't need to be an AI specialist or have a traditional charity background. We’re looking for someone who can bring people, ideas, partnerships, funding and opportunities together — and turn them into meaningful programmes.

Creators with Purpose is Roots Academy's community of Muslim influencers and student content creators - a hand-picked group of relatable, authentic voices using their platforms to reach and uplift Muslim students across the country.

To grow and sustain it, we're looking for a Manager to be the heartbeat of this community. You'll onboard new creators, run our content calendar and review process, and keep a thriving group of creators supported, inspired and consistently producing content that reaches the exact audience we exist to serve. This is a relationship-first role for someone who loves bringing people together around a shared mission.

Key tasks

• Community management - Own and energise our creator community keeping it warm, active and supportive; welcome new creators, spark introductions, and encourage creators to learn from and uplift one another.

• Onboarding - Identify and reach out to potential creators, run friendly 1-2-1 welcome calls, share the vision and welcome pack, and bring new creators into the fold with as low a barrier to entry as possible.

• Content coordination - Run the content calendar end-to-end: agree each creator's posting frequency and dates, keep the Notion tracker current.

• Creative support - Keep creators inspired with prompts, content ideas and themed series (e.g. Freshers, exam season), and offer tailored concepts to those who want them while protecting each creator's own style and voice.

• Mentorship & belonging - Coordinate regular calls with the team, and help every creator feel like a genuine part of Team Roots.

• Tracking & reporting - Track creator output and reach, monitor how creators are driving students toward Roots workshops, and report progress and feedback.

We are seeking two enthusiastic and committed individuals to serve on our Board. As a member of the Board of Trustees, you will oversee the strategic direction, governance and financial sustainability of the organisation. You will help ensure that PILC has a clear strategy, that its resources are used effectively, and that its activities remain aligned with its charitable objectives and values. You will also provide constructive support and challenge to the Senior Management Team, helping the organisation to develop, grow and achieve its mission.

Trustees have collective responsibility for the governance of the charity. This means that decisions are made collectively by the Board and trustees share responsibility for those decisions, always acting in the best interests of PILC.

Please note that this is a voluntary position, but reasonable expenses will be reimbursed. The time commitment for this role is approximately 8-10 days per annum. The Board meets online on the 3rd Monday of every other month from 6-8pm and trustees are required to attend with their cameras on. All Board papers are circulated usually 2 weeks ahead of the meeting. All applicants must be based in the U.K. 

Duties
As a Trustee, you will be expected to:
• Attend bi-monthly Board meetings (held remotely), having read the papers in advance and being prepared to contribute constructively to discussion and decision-making.
• Attend the annual Board away day and Annual General Meeting (AGM).
• Support, promote and provide advice on PILC’s charitable purpose, vision, values and strategic objectives.
• Approve operational strategies, policies, and monitor and evaluate their implementation.
• Oversee PILC’s financial sustainability by reviewing and approving budgets, PILC’s financial statements and monitoring and evaluating financial performance.
• Ensure that the charity is well governed, effectively managed and compliant with its legal and regulatory obligations.
• Support the effective management of risk and ensure that appropriate systems of internal control are in place.
• Provide appropriate support, constructive challenge and accountability to the Director in the exercise of their delegated authority.
• Keep informed about developments affecting PILC, the non-profit legal sector and the wider operating environment.
• Contribute to the regular review and continuous improvement of the Board's effectiveness and governance arrangements.
• Exercise independent judgement, act with reasonable care and skill, and always act in good faith in the best interests of PILC’s, managing any actual or potential conflicts of interest appropriately.
• Act as an ambassador for PILC, promoting its work and using your skills, knowledge, experience and networks to support the organisation where appropriate.
