Job description

Do you care about the countryside and want to make a practical contribution to protecting it?

Campaign to Protect Rural England, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, is looking for a new Volunteer Secretary to join our friendly team. We welcome applicants living anywhere in Derbyshire or Nottinghamshire.

As our Volunteer Secretary, you will work from home, largely at times to suit you, with the exception of a monthly planning meeting, plus a committee meeting every two months – all online in the evenings.

The role includes:

● organising and supporting regular meetings, taking accurate minutes to help the team keep track of decisions and actions

● dealing with email and written correspondence and routine administration

● working alongside the Chair and Vice-Chair to keep things running smoothly.

You don’t have to have been a secretary before, and you don’t need specialist countryside knowledge. Good organisational and communication skills, reliability and an interest in CPRE’s work are much more important. We provide induction, training and support on all aspects of the role.

We are looking for someone who can give a manageable amount of time – approximately 2–4 hours per week, plus the three 1.5-hour online meetings every two months.

We look forward to receiving your application!
