We are currently seeking a volunteer Personal Assistant/Office Manager. This role is ideal for an individual with experience as a P.A./Manager looking to work within the charity sector. 

Responsibilities typically include: 

• Acting as a first point of contact for enquiries: (email/calendar management and phone calls, managing diaries 

• Typing, compiling, and preparing reports, presentations, and correspondence. 

• Miscellaneous tasks to support the CEO which will vary according to projects and tasks but could include fundraising, event planning, social media, community outreach, press & PR. 

• Managing databases and filing systems.

We are looking for a finance professional to join our engaged and friendly board as Treasurer, with specific oversight of the charity’s financial management. While day-to-day financial administration is carried out by employees or external providers, the Treasurer works closely with them and the Board to ensure sound financial governance. Our board meet once a month (either virtually or in person in London) for around 90 minutes. We aim to have strategy days twice a year. You will meet with the CEO and Finance Manager once a month, and be available for ad hoc emails, advice. Trustees are usually appointed for a three-year term, which can usually be extended. 

You will also bring a commitment to the values, aims, and objectives of the charity, and a desire to help children and young people who have experienced grief.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Governance & Oversight

• Ensure that GFS operates within its financial policies, charitable objects, and legal and regulatory requirements (e.g., Charity Commission guidance).
• Oversee the financial strategy of GFS and provide leadership to the Board on financial planning, sustainability, reserves, and investment decisions.
• Review and monitor financial reports, management accounts, and forecasts, ensuring the Board receives clear and accurate information to support decision-making.

Budgeting & Reporting

• Work with the CEO and finance staff to review the annual budget and recommend it for Board approval.
• Oversee the preparation of annual statutory accounts and ensure timely submission of all regulatory filings.

The Support Team at The Brain Tumour Charity are aiming to address the clear gap in emotional support available to those affected by a brain tumour diagnosis, by expanding their counselling service. We know the difference that talking therapy can make and our goal is to reach more people, ensuring everyone that wants it, gets the support that they need.

How can you help?
As a Counselling Assessment Volunteer for this service, you will be the first point of call for new clients entering in to the service. This role will require you to talk to a wide range of people - from those newly diagnosed, to others at end of life and also bereaved. As a Counselling Assessment Volunteer, you will be required to:

• Carry out pre-booked counselling assessments with clients who have self-referred themselves into the counselling service
• Gather information through the assessment about the client’s circumstances, explore their needs, explain how the service can help and discuss with them whether the counselling service is suitable
• Confidently follow our safeguarding process, to ensure risk is assessed and appropriate steps are taken to safeguard each client’s well-being
• Observe confidentiality in line with our organisational policy
• Keep accurate and appropriate records on our internal database

We’re looking for...
Someone who is empathetic and supportive in nature, and who is excited by the opportunity to bring this counselling service to the wider brain tumour community. You will also need:

• Experience in providing emotional support to others, perhaps through another role focusing on bereavement, mental health or life limiting illnesses
• Ideally have had previous training in counselling, mental health first aid, or other relevant course
• Ability to work autonomously
• Relevant IT skills in order to maintain appropriate and accurate records on our counselling database
• As this is a home-based role, you will need access to a telephone and computer that you are happy to use for this service

You will receive a full induction to The Brain Tumour Charity and any specific training for the role, as well as ongoing direction from one of the team, who will be your key contact. We carry out references for all individuals who will be volunteering with us on a regular basis. Volunteers will be required to complete some internal training, data protection and disclosure documentation before commencing the role. Volunteers must be over 18. We may close applications early if we recieve a high number of applications for this role. Commitment:

About Circular Kitchens

Circular Kitchens is a social enterprise and membership platform designed to help restaurants, cafés, pubs, food stalls, and other catering businesses become fully circular: Plastic Free, Ecological, Local, and Zero Waste.

By working with the hospitality sector, we are helping regenerate local communities, strengthen regional food systems, and increase demand for ecological and regenerative agriculture in the UK. Our current focus is launching Circular Kitchens in Whitstable and supporting our first mover restaurants to achieve 3 Star Circular Kitchens certification. Role Description

We are seeking a volunteer to support our operations and early-stage platform development, with a focus on how we manage restaurant tools, pledges, and audits using Coda.

Initially, the volunteer will have the opportunity to support updates to our existing Coda database to reflect new language, helping ensure outdated wording is replaced in line with our latest templates and that language is consistent across the platform.

As they become familiar with the structure, the volunteer may also contribute to the design of a Master Coda Document to help centralise data currently spread across multiple sections. This work supports the early foundations of a scalable platform designed to support hundreds of Circular Kitchens members over time. The role may also include light “vibe programming,” using AI tools to assist with formulas and logic within Coda tables.

We are looking for a passionate Volunteer Web Developer to support the development, improvement, and maintenance of our website. This role is ideal for someone who wants to use their technical skills for social good, gain real-world experience, and contribute to a meaningful cause.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, update, and maintain the organisation’s website

• Improve website performance, accessibility, and responsiveness

• Collaborate with non-technical team members to translate needs into web features

• Fix bugs and implement enhancements as needed

• Ensure basic security and best practices are followed

• (Optional) Help with SEO, analytics, or content management improvements

Required Skills & Experience

• Basic to intermediate experience with:

  • HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

  • At least one framework or CMS (e.g. WordPress, React, Vue, etc.)

• Understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility

• Ability to work independently and communicate clearly

• A willingness to learn and contribute positively to a nonprofit environment

Nice to Have (Not Required)

• Experience with accessibility standards (WCAG)

• Familiarity with hosting platforms (e.g. Netlify, Vercel, AWS, etc.)

• UI/UX sensibility

• Prior volunteer or nonprofit experience

We’re looking for full stack developers to help us create a ground-breaking web app that promotes sustainable living.

You will play a major role in:

• developing the server-side logic;
• ensuring high performance and responsiveness;
• ensuring front-end optimization;
• designing and maintaining database schemas.  

What are we looking for?

Three years web development experience with working knowledge of Python and, preferably Django framework.  Ability to:

• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code that powers the application's back-end logic;
• Integrate user-facing elements;
• Optimize components for maximum performance & scalability;
• Build & maintain reusable component libraries to ensure consistency.

Preferably with PWA experience.
