Quilombo UK is looking for an experienced Research Assistant, who would love to join a growing organisation.

The Research Assistant role offers a great opportunity for the right person who is looking to: 

• Gain experience in the Third Sector. 

• Develop their skills and management experience; or just simply 'give something back to their community'.

The role provides you with flexibility and autonomy at work. Where necessary, specific training will also be provided to help you develop and grow your skill set.

Main Responsibilities

• Since its creation, Quilombo UK has collected a great amount of information, evidence and items through projects, fundraisers, events etc.

• We are looking for a team member to find published materials related to Quilombo UK key objectives and interests, especially cultural and racial diversity, and stereotypes in UK communities. The materials include all types of evidence, articles, journals, newspaper columns, local and global news stories. 

• The researcher will help to collect information that can be used as an evidence base to help inform future activities, and also in exhibitions, workshops, and community events. 

• We are looking for a self-starter who can source, collect, and share relevant materials independently. You will also be working closely with our Professional Development Programme participants in relevant areas such as Marketing and PR.

• Provide written reports as and when required. To undertake additional duties as required for the role.

General tasks

• Contribute to staff meetings and other internal meetings with views and suggestions etc.

• You will need to have good written skills and be able to explain concepts and projects concisely and accurately.

The Professional Development Programme with Quilombo UK runs over a period of 16 weeks, is UNPAID and requires a minimum of 12 hours commitment per week across Monday, Wednesday and/or Friday.

Upon successful application, our HR team will contact you to arrange an interview. Following a successful interview, we'll initiate the onboarding process by sending you the necessary documents. Once your onboarding and identification documents are received and verified, you'll be invited to a 6-hour HR and System Induction. Subsequently, you'll meet with your Head of Department or Assistant Manager for your First Day.

The Walnut Tree is a cafe situated within an Arts & Communuty Centre near Parsons Green. We're looking for part-time volunteers to help us serve in the cafe on a regular weekly basis.

We serve a variety of hot drinks, cakes, hot toasties & soups, and require someone who is open to lending their hand where needed. We will provide training as neccessary, but mainly ask for a willing & a positive attitude!

We partner with communities to collect, trace, and recycle plastic, creating jobs and preventing pollution.​

Our growth so far has been powered by corporate partnerships.
But there's significant catalytic and concessional funding available for organizations doing exactly what we do, and right now we're not capturing it. We need the help of a Grant Writer & Institutional Funding Lead to change that. 

This is a high-leverage role for an experienced development professional who knows the climate, ocean, and circular economy funding landscape, and who can turn that knowledge into successful proposals. You'll own the full grant lifecycle from prospecting to reporting, working directly with the CEO and Program Director.

What you'll do:
- Map the global funding landscape relevant to Second Life: bilateral aid agencies, multilateral institutions, climate funds, major foundations, corporate foundations, impact investors offering grant capital, and prize-based funders.
- Build and maintain a prioritized funder pipeline with clear fit assessment, ticket sizes, timelines, and decision-maker contacts.
- Recommend which opportunities to pursue and which to pass on.
- Read and critically review our in-progress and recently submitted grant applications; provide structured written feedback and proposed edits.
- Lead the writing of concept notes, letters of inquiry, and full proposals.
- Translate field reality (collection sites, collector incomes, recycling pathways) into the language funders use (outputs, outcomes, impact, theory of change, MEL frameworks).
- Own grant reporting timelines and deliverables across all active grants
- Partner with marketing on funder-facing communications, impact stories, and thought leadership that strengthens grant competitiveness
- Build internal systems: proposal templates, internal library of strong language, proof points and reusable section, AI usage etc. so this function can scale.

Wekume — meaning “Protect Yourself” in Luganda — is a dynamic, startup transforming access to sexual and reproductive health for university students and young people in Uganda. We are seeking a strategic and well-connected Partnerships Strategist to build and manage a diverse partnership ecosystem. You will secure funding, policy backing, event visibility, university adoption, and technical collaboration all in service of scaling Wekume’s reach and impact.
You will sell Wekume’s mission, credibility, and outcomes to anyone who can accelerate our work.

Key Responsibilities. 
Rewards Program Partnerships

• Identify and onboard businesses, brands, restaurants, cafés, transport providers, telecom companies, gyms, entertainment spaces, and student-focused service providers into the Wekume rewards ecosystem.
• Develop partnerships that provide discounts, vouchers, sponsored products, experiences, or loyalty rewards for students engaging with Wekume services and events.
• Pitch the value of the Wekume student network and demonstrate how partners can increase visibility and engagement among university students and young people.
• Track partnership KPIs, including the number of partners onboarded, rewards redeemed, student engagement levels, and repeat partner collaborations.

Campus & Community Engagement

• Work closely with campus ambassadors and outreach teams to integrate rewards into hostel activations, campus events, testing drives, referrals, and community engagement programs.

• Support campaigns that encourage students to earn points through positive health actions, event participation, referrals, and app engagement.

•  Help partners activate their brands during Wekume events and student-focused campaigns.

• University Partnerships

• Pitch and onboard universities that is engage Vice-Chancellors, Deans of Students, University Health Services, and Counselling Centers.

• Integrate Wekume into orientation week, student handbooks, health modules, and peer education programs.

• Train student leaders, peer educators, and campus ambassadors to promote the app as a confidential first-line resource.

• Track university level KPIs: schools partnered, student reach, app activations, questions asked.

Donor & Funder Partnerships

• Identify and cultivate relationships with bilateral or multilateral donors 
• Build relationships with trusts, foundations, and high net worth individuals focused on adolescent health, gender equality, and education.
• Lead or support grant proposal development, reporting, and donor stewardship.
• Explore results-based financing or impact-linked partnerships.

Government & Public Sector Partnerships 

• Engage Ministries of Health, Education, Youth Affairs, and Higher Education to align Wekume with national SRHR strategies.
• Secure government endorsements, data privacy clearances, and potential integration into public university health programs.
• Advocate for Wekume as a recognized digital health tool for young people.

Event & Activation Funders 

• Partner with event funders, corporate CSR arms, and youth-focused brands to sponsor campus activations, health fairs, and awareness campaigns.
• Secure cash or in-kind sponsorship for Wekume-led events.
• Build a calendar around high-visibility moments for example World Contraception Day, Menstrual Hygiene Day, Youth Day.

NGO & Technical Partners 

• Collaborate with SRHR-focused NGOs, youth-led organizations, gender justice groups, and mental health initiatives.
• Build referral networks so students using Wekume can access in-person care where needed.

Help4Homeless is looking for an Event Organisation Manager to lead creative fundraising events that directly support people experiencing homelessness in Peterborough. This is a flexible, remote volunteer role where your ideas can turn into real-world impact.

�� About Help4Homeless

Help4Homeless is a youth-led initiative founded in Peterborough with a simple mission: provide practical support to people sleeping rough through £10 wellbeing packs.

Each pack includes essentials like socks, hygiene products, snacks, and warmth items, and 100% of donations go directly into these packs. No admin fees, no overheads, just real help for real people.

�� The Role

As Event Organisation Manager, you’ll take the lead in planning and coordinating fundraising events and campaigns that grow awareness and raise vital funds.

�� Key Responsibilities

• Plan and organise fundraising events (online and community-based)
• Develop creative campaign ideas (e.g. challenges, themed events)
• Coordinate timelines and ensure events run smoothly
• Work with the wider team to promote events and maximise reach
• Track outcomes and suggest improvements for future events

We are a Local Group of Humanists UK. All Humanists UK members and supporters in the local area are automatically part of the group. In case you are not familiar with humanism, it is a world view held by a large number of people who are not religious. Humanists base their understanding of the world on scientific evidence and reason, and centre their values on kindness and respect. Bangor Humanists aim to provide a range of activities for non-religious people living in and around Bangor to meet, socialise, campaign, raise awareness of humanism, participate in local civic life and support each other. The Local Group represents Humanists UK and the local humanist community at public events and in public forums. Bangor Humanists is led by a team of volunteers that organises events and activities throughout the year.
