Amy’s Place is a partnership between the Amy Winehouse Foundation and Clarion Housing Group providing supported living accommodation for young women in recovery and receiving support with drug and alcohol issues.

A confident and well-experienced music teacher, who will support young women to develop their musical abilities, and positively encourage creative expression to help young women channel their feelings into music.

• Providing musical instrument lessons to students encompassing both theoretical and practical education.
• Developing and delivering individual session plans and documented session outcomes in order to assist each student’s personal growth
• Supporting the creativity and self-expression of the students
• Working collaboratively with other staff at Amy’s Place in order to provide the best support for each individual student
• Offering a range of skills such as; songwriting, improvisation, song interpretation for covers.

Support 

•  Volunteers receive a thorough induction and have access to any relevant in-house and external training.
•  Volunteers have a named supervisor providing day-to-day support and encouragement.
• Reasonable travel and will be reimbursed.

This is a flexible opportunity and volunteering times and frequency will vary depending on your availability and the needs of service users.  It might be every week or fortnight, 3 to 4 hours, ideally for a minimum of 3 months.

We will make sure you will have access to a proper induction to volunteering with SJA and the training you need for the role you take on. FCCT are looking for volunteers of the Catholic faith to play a supportive role by actively mentoring young offenders (aged 15-30 in HMP/YOI Feltham) and to offer support under the ‘7 pathways to Reducing Reoffending’:

FCCT offer support under the seven pathways to reducing reoffending, including signposting to relevant organisations:

• Accommodation
• Education, Training and Employment (ETE)
• Health
• Drug and Alcohol Misuse
• Finance, Benefits and Debts
• Children & Families
• Attitudes, Thinking and Behaviour
• Faith

Our aim is to help young people overcome hardships and make the positive transition back into wider society and to help to reduce reoffending rates.

Scope of Volunteer Main Role and Duties (not exhaustive):

Mentoring Arm:

1. Work through a ‘Discharge List’ systematically, cross referencing with the Operations Manager, so as not to duplicate any work or contact with the young people (primarily of Catholic faith).
2. Hand out and (where needed) help complete ‘Questionnaires’ given to young people from the ‘Discharge List’, in order to ascertain what type of job or education sector the young person would be interested in going into. Forms to be given to the Operations Manager afterwards.
3. Follow up with a one-to-one session – register the young person to the FCCT programme and completing relevant paperwork, which will include our ‘Client Profile Form’ and ‘Consent Form’.
4. Update a shared ‘Client Spreadsheet’ which will be used to capture data information, as to the young people that FCCT are engaging with.
5. If required, identify relevant Churches etc for the young people to attend post release and contact said religious establishments, to understand their referral criteria and then make relevant referrals, where required.
6. Collect testimonials from the young people in relation to the support FCCT have offered them.
7. Mentoring of young people 
8. Make or facilitate family contacts for resettlement purposes, in relation to the young people.

We are looking for individuals who demonstrate the following attributes:

• Commitment: Shows commitment to the organisation, its values and its clients, understanding that the building of trust and consistency is key, in terms of the clientele FCCT work with.
• Communication: Communicates well both verbally and in writing. An ability to communicate effectively with young people would also be an added benefit.
• Resilience: Demonstrates patience and understanding in the face of challenges.
• Professionalism: Complies with all FCCT policies and procedures, particularly regarding Safeguarding, GDPR etc.
• Non-judgemental: Demonstrates empathy and openness and does not impose personal values or conscious or unconscious bias.
• Solution focused: Can help to identify issues and meets challenges with optimism and offers solutions, seeing them as an opportunity to learn.

Training and Support

We will provide all the necessary training. Training will be provided on an ongoing basis and volunteers will be given a full induction of the organisation and how the projects run.

Time Required

FCCT ask for a minimum of 8 hours a month. Due to the flexibility of the role, the hours can be distributed over different days between the core hours of 9am - 5pm, including Sundays. We are for a commitment of at least a year with the project, due to the flexibility of the role.

Student Placements

Shannon Trust fulfils an unmet need around adult learning, supporting people who’ve fallen through the cracks in formal education.

We know a lot of people have had negative learning experiences in the past, so our programme is designed to be different, with no exams and no classrooms. Our unique, evidence-based Turning Pages reading manuals are used by thousands of learners in prisons and the community to improve reading skills. 

Prison volunteers live near to their local prison so that they can visit about once a month during the working week to nurture the growth of the Shannon Trust in their prison. They help unlock the power of reading by offering advice, guidance, training and support to prison staff and prisoner mentors who help other prisoners to improve their skills 1 to 1.

We are looking for volunteers who are able to work alone, able to give a regular, reliable commitment for ideally two years and able to deliver engaging training to groups of people in prisons.  Due to the nature of the role, prison security vetting will be required.

We provide training for the role via e-learning and 4 training sessions which are a mix of live, online and group training.

Our mission of sustainable freedom has continued over the last 13 years, however, the forms of exploitation, as well as the landscape of support to survivors, have changed beyond recognition. To respond to this, we launched a new strategy in 2024, which set out how we will ‘meet survivors where they are and take them to where they want to be’

Sophie Hayes Foundation aims to work in a proactive and collaborative manner. The Chair plays an important part in setting the tone and bringing all stakeholders together.

Governance and Culture: As Chair, you provide appropriate leadership, oversight and support to the Board and management team on strategy, governance and risk, ensuring that we meet our obligations and responsibilities. The Trustee Board is made up of a diverse group of people, each bringing their own ideas, skills and networks to support the executive team. A new CEO joined the charity about 18 months ago. She has worked to build a strong team and achieved a great sense of community amongst staff, volunteers and programme participants. She worked closely with the Board in the development of a new strategy, is building strong relationships with donors and supporters, and continues to oversee the management of the day to day - with an eye on both long-term needs and immediate challenges.

Development: We rely on support from foundations, key donors and the public, and as Chair, you will be an important representative of the organisation, working with the CEO and other Trustees to build and maintain strong relationships.

Advocacy: Sophie Hayes Foundation is working to improve understanding of the Modern Slavery sector, enhance understanding of the issues, build recognition of the impact of our programmes and influence key decision makers. As Chair, along with other Trustees, you may be called on to assist the CEO with advocacy and to build our brand.

Commitment: We have a bold vision to increase our impact through a combination of direct programming with survivors and through advocacy to build awareness and support. You will help bring Islamic learning to life through purposeful, polished, and impactful design.

Key tasks

• Design Development: Create visually compelling graphics for use across social media, email, web, presentations, and print

• Brand Consistency: Ensure all visual materials align with Roots Academy’s brand guidelines and Islamic values

• Content Support: Collaborate with the social media and education teams to translate ideas and scripts into polished, engaging visuals

• Campaign Assets: Support event and program launches by designing posters, promo kits, and other visual collateral

• Template Creation: Build easy-to-edit templates for internal teams to use (e.g., Canva or Google Slides)

• Revision & Feedback: Adapt designs based on team feedback while maintaining efficiency and quality

• Trend Awareness: Stay up to date on design and content trends, especially within the faith-based and youth development space

• Project Management: Maintain organized design files and deliver work in a timely manner

What we’re looking for

• Strong design portfolio demonstrating creativity, clarity, and alignment with brand guidelines

• Experience using tools like Canva, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or Figma

Usanii Village Africa

Through the boundless power of creativity, we inspire young minds to dream, innovate, and become changemakers in their communities. By using art as a platform for awareness and advocacy, we tackle critical issues like environmental sustainability, gender equality and reproductive health.

Limited Access to Art-Based Education & Economic Opportunities – Many young people, especially out-of-school youth and teenage mothers, lack access to creative and vocational training programmes that can equip them with skills for self-reliance and economic independence.

High Rates of Teenage Pregnancies & School Dropouts – Limited knowledge and resources on sexual and reproductive health contribute to early marriages, teenage pregnancies, and high dropout rates among girls and young women, restricting their future opportunities.

Lack of Environmental Awareness & Sustainable Practices – Communities often lack the knowledge and integration of environmental stewardship in education and daily life, leading to unsustainable practices, environmental degradation, and missed opportunities for eco-friendly innovations.

Usanii Village Africa provides creative and vocational training in fields such as Eco-Artistry, carpentry, fashion, and design. By integrating art with practical skills, young people—especially out-of-school youth and teenage mothers—gain the tools needed for self-reliance and economic empowerment.

To combat early marriages, teenage pregnancies, and school dropouts, Usanii Village Africa equips young people, particularly girls and young women, with essential knowledge and resources on menstrual health, reproductive rights, and gender equality. This ensures they make informed choices about their futures.

By embedding environmental conservation in education and community initiatives, Usanii Village Africa fosters a culture of sustainability. Through Eco-Artistry, waste repurposing, and climate action advocacy, the organization promotes eco-friendly practices and raises awareness about the importance of protecting natural resources.

Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Assistant

Volunteer Role Description (remote, unpaid)

The M&E Volunteer will primarily support data collection and management, helping to design tools, gather information from beneficiaries, and ensure data quality. They'll also assist in basic data analysis, contributing to the interpretation of findings. A key part of the role involves supporting the drafting of impact reports, transforming raw data into clear narratives and visuals that showcase Usanii Village's achievements. Throughout these tasks, the volunteer will receive direct support and guidance from the local Usanii Village team. Finally, the volunteer will contribute to learning and documentation, helping to capture insights and maintain organized M&E records.
