Job description

Make a difference today!

Are you driven by helping others?  Then why not become a driver to our members

Deafblind UK run local community social groups throughout the UK that enable our members to meet up and take part in organised activities and day trips out.

Some members without these groups would be facing extreme isolation and loneliness as many of our members find it hard getting out and about and do rely heavily on their own network of family to do this, but again this is limiting when they can attend activities.

How can you help….

We are looking for friendly confident drivers to pick up, drop off and ensure our members can regularly attend our wonderful monthly group meet ups.

Our member’s safety is priority and they would need guiding into and out of the car, however, full training will be provided.

You will be using your own vehicle, so would need appropriate insurance cover but we can provide you with further details to assist you with this.

Could you give a few hours a month and assist our members to the local group meet up?

Having sight and hearing loss can at times be isolating and lonely, however getting people together to enjoy each others company will ensure our members don’t face this. A majority of our members will communicate with clear speech, or may have other communication methods.

Yes this is for me…..How do I apply?

Then please click on the ‘Apply’ button, complete the short application form and we’ll be back in contact to discuss further.
