Loneliness isn’t just a feeling—it’s a silent crisis. It creeps into the corners of everyday life, leaving people disconnected, unheard, and unseen. It’s linked to depression, anxiety, physical illness, and even premature death. In London, thousands suffer in silence. But together, we can change that.

Job Summary

Brand Associate (Gen Z Marketing)
We are about to launch the Impact Champions Project (ICP), our global initiative to build a network of young people solving education challenges on their university campuses. We don’t just want to announce it; we want to ignite a movement. Your mission is to make ICP the most compelling social impact opportunity for Gen Z. In this role, you will: Architect the Launch: Develop and execute a social media strategy from the ground up to build the ICP brand across platforms where young people live, like Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn. Create Buzz: Design exciting content (short videos, graphics, stories) that captures the energy of a new global project and inspires the first wave of applicants. Drive Recruitment: Your primary goal is to promote our first global cohort, turning awareness into applications from passionate young leaders around the world. We are looking to appoint a trustee with experience in Finance to oversee our finance functions, providing advice, scrutiny and support to the charity and to be the Chair of our Governance, Audit & Risk Committee (GAR)
Knowledge & Experience:
- Qualified accountant with demonstrated commercial awareness and knowledge and thorough understanding of the Charities SORP (statement of recommended practice)
- Knowledge and experience of charity fundraising and finance practices
- Ability to communicate and explain financial information to members of the Board and stakeholders
- Understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship

The Governance, Audit & Risk Committee (GAR) Purpose & Duties:
The Governance, Audit and Risk Committee is a Sub-Committee of the Board of Trustees of the 1851 Marine Trust (the “Trust”). The Committee shall meet not less than 4 times a year and at such other times as it considers necessary.
The Committee shall provide support, assurance and recommendations to the Board on:
- Best practice in charity governance and as appropriate governance arrangements for the Trust
- The effectiveness of the Trust’s internal control and risk management framework, including key policies and procedures
- The conduct of the external independent examination or audit and the Trust’s annual report and accounts, including the performance of the independent examiners’
- The day-to-day financial operations and controls including monitoring income and expenditure against the annual budget
Trustee - Role and Responsibilities
As a Trustee your role will be to use your skills and your personal experience to contribute to the work of the Board. Trustee responsibilities will include the following:
Leadership:
Promote the vision, values and objectives of the 1851 Marine Trust and take an active role in supporting the Trust’s strategy. Assist fellow Trustees in agreeing strategic aims, ensuring that the necessary financial and human resources are in place to meet its objectives, and that performance is effectively monitored and reviewed. Engage positively and collaboratively in Board discussion of agenda items.
Management:
In accordance with agreed Board procedures, monitor the performance of the Trust, identify and manage risks posed by its activities and assist in the satisfaction of statutory duties around the preparation of annual reports and accounts, fundraising and safeguarding. Provide independent judgement and advice on issues of strategy, vision, performance, resources and standards of conduct and apply this to the benefit of the organisation, its stakeholders and wider community. Participate in committees as determined and delegated by the Board of Trustees.
Governance:
Commit to working to, and encouraging within the Trust, the highest standards of probity, integrity and governance and contribute to ensuring that the internal governance arrangements, including the management of conflicts of interest, conform with the Trust’s constitution, best practice and statutory requirements. Obtain assurance that financial information is accurate and that financial controls and risk management systems are robust and appropriate.
Requirements for new Trustees:
Able to attend 4-6 meetings a year with sufficient time to review meeting papers. The time commitment is estimated at a minimum 20 hours per year but could increase depending on the outcome of agenda items and related sub-committee work. Documents are sent to Trustees by email and meetings are held both electronically and in person.
Trustees/Board members are not paid, though reasonable expenses are claimable. Initial term of office is for three years.
Who They Are
CleanupUK, founded in 2007, is a young and ambitious charity with a strong focus on making every activity—whether organising a litter pick or holding a trustees’ meeting—engaging and enjoyable. The charity’s primary mission is to support residents in less affluent areas to come together, clean up parts of their community that local councils do not cover, and in doing so, create environments that are cleaner, stronger, and safer.
The Role
Now in its 18th year, CleanupUK is entering a growth phase and is seeking trustees with diverse backgrounds and experiences to join its board. Prospective trustees are likely to be passionate about litter and its impact on communities.
The charity is currently recruiting three new trustees who are willing to devote their time and expertise to supporting CleanupUK’s next stage of development. The three areas of expertise sought are:

This is an exciting new volunteering role in the Peri team, supporting the daily operations of the internal training team and assisting with weekly tasks, mainly administrative.
SWA trains staff and volunteers in Domestic Abuse support, including frontline care, psychologically informed frameworks, advocacy, and working with complex needs SU. We expect volunteers to be proactive, bringing forth ideas to improve training processes, and handle various tasks independently. The team is open to suggestions for upskilling in relevant areas that are feasible for the volunteer and welcome them.
About the role
1. Assist with key administrative tasks to help keep training materials and resources organised and up to date with relevant information such as:
- Research
- Updating statistics
- Creating activities or resources for trainings
- Reviewing the accessibility of training (adding audio descriptions for example)
- Send out training invites and materials
- Shadow our trainers and learn the ins and outs of our different training processes.
- Encouraged to bring your own creative ideas to the table, helping us design engaging and interactive trainings and activities.

The Role
The Honorary Treasurer applies their financial knowledge and experience to work alongside the Finance Manager in overseeing the organisation’s financial affairs. They ensure that all practices are legal, constitutional, and in line with accepted accounting standards.
The role includes ensuring compliance with the requirements of the Charity Commission and the Regulator of Social Housing. This involves reviewing financial reports, returns, and draft statutory accounts prepared by staff.
The Honorary Treasurer chairs meetings of the Finance and Development Committee, which monitors and reports to the Trustee Board on a quarterly basis. They also liaise, where necessary, with the Independent External Financial Examiner to finalise statutory accounts for presentation and approval by the Trustee Board.

EI&P is a multidisciplinary team that provides advocacy and counselling to CYP survivors of VAWG, as well as education and training to CYP, parents, and professionals.
About the role
The EI&P Volunteer will support the team, with particular focus on the development and update of educational programmes and resources for POW and Community Engagement. This will include:
- Support research into new legislation and literature to ensure our programmes are up to date.
- Support the creation of educational resources including presentations, learning booklets, leaflets, etc.
- Support development of session plans.
- Support the development of feedback and programme evaluation tools.
- Ensuring programmes and resources are accessible to a wide range of audiences and needs.
- Supporting other members of the team.
- Identifying and reaching out to relevant external professionals to raise awareness of our services and referral pathway.
Who are we looking for?
- Knowledge of HRSE
- Some previous experience developing educational materials.
- Some previous research experience.
- Some previous facilitation experience.
- Expert use of Office packages, including PowerPoint, Publisher, or comparable platforms.
- Passionate about education as a key to change VAWG narratives.
- Clear Understanding of VAWG issues, intersectional feminism, and handling of sensitive information, confidentiality, safeguarding.
