As a Personal Assistant within the Directors' Support Team, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating the efficient functioning of the Directorship. This is a volunteer position, requiring a commitment to our mission and a keen desire to contribute to the success of Quilombo UK.

 Main Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive research on various topics relevant to Quilombo UK's mission and initiatives.

• Analyse and synthesise information to provide insightful reports and recommendations to the Directors.

• Work closely with the Directors to understand their priorities and preferences.

• Assist in the preparation of briefings and communications, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with organisational objectives.

We’ve been supporting the Armed Forces community since 1885. Our beneficiaries come from all backgrounds and age groups and may have served in WW2 or in a more recent conflict like the Falklands or Afghanistan.

There are SSAFA branches throughout the UK and overseas who support local volunteers to deliver services to veterans, serving personnel and their families. Some branches are divided into smaller divisions to ensure the best local service delivery. Each branch has a team of volunteer caseworkers, support volunteers, executive roles, and fundraisers.

To offer the best possible service to our clients we need to match the right volunteers to the right role. Could you spare a few hours a week to help recruit new volunteers and welcome them to SSAFA by supporting them through their induction phase? When would you be needed and where would you be based?

Quilombo UK is looking for a Volunteer Graphic Designer to join the team. Quilombo UK is a not for profit social enterprise that challenges people to think differently and bridge gaps between communities, with the aim of building a culturally rich society, where differences are accepted and celebrated.

QMC School, partnered with Quilombo UK is looking for a volunteer personal assistant to join their national volunteering team working from home. This role offers a great opportunity for the right person looking to gain experience as a personal assistant, developing their office-based and management experience, or simply to ‘give back to their community’. The role provides you flexibility, with specific training provided where necessary to help you develop and grow your skill-set.

16 weeks contract.

What will I be doing?

• Managing organisation of meetings and appointment

The Professional Development Programme with Quilombo UK runs over a period of 16 weeks, is UNPAID and requires a minimum of 12 hours commitment per week across Monday, Wednesday and/or Friday.

Upon successful application, our HR team will contact you to arrange an interview. Following a successful interview, we'll initiate the onboarding process by sending you the necessary documents. Once your onboarding and identification documents are received and verified, you'll be invited to a 6-hour HR and System Induction. Subsequently, you'll meet with your Head of Department or Assistant Manager for your First Day.

The Let's Go! Nature Buddies project takes referrals from the NHS Community Recovery Service as well as early-stage Alzheimer and falls-prevention services - part of a movement towards healthcare aimed at the overall wellbeing of an individual.

As a Nature Buddy volunteer, you will support people who are at risk of social isolation in their transition from 1-1 walks with members of our team in nature, into smaller group settings. It's a role for volunteers who love being outdoors and care about people. You'll work with our friendly, committed team who will provide training, guidance and support for you.

This is an opportunity to meet and help new people, get outdoors and discover green space, get experience in a new setting, and be part of an amazing group of volunteers who have a shared passion for community wellbeing.

Skills and Qualifications: No special qualifications or experience needed. Volunteers should be understanding, patient, empathetic and enthusiastic about the benefits of outdoor environments. We will provide a Disclosure & Barring Service screening which must be clear.

Training and Support: You will be given induction training into the various aspects of the work. You will receive ongoing training as well as peer support at volunteer meetings. Nature Buddies are a local network of similarly-motivated people who help each other too!

Reimbursement and Expenses: We want to reduce barriers to volunteering. We reimburse out-of-pocket expenses to our volunteers: • Reasonable transport expenses • Light refreshments

Outcast Activists Forum address challenges related to youth unemployment and the financial inclusion of both young women and men most particularly those from less privileged and underserved communities.

Outcast Activists Forum (OAF) was established in January 2020 and incorporated in August 2020 as a grassroots network of activists and likeminded people with an aim to bring about social change through empowering the community in the fight for gender equality, youth inclusion on the issues of social justice, women empowerment, the fight against poverty, unemployment, teenage marriages a pregnancies, address human rights-related abuses, environmental protection and revive the need for child education and com drug abuse and alcoholism.

OAF slogan “Amplifying voices, Enriching communities” represents the voices of the people in the nationwide suburbs, communities with several cases of unwanted pregnancies in adolescents, early child marriages, poor health, poverty, child abuse, and human rights abuse, and unemployment, lack of career guidance, inadequate information and poor livelihood. OAF started its operations by doing ground research on issues deteriorating society in the poor suburbs regionally.

Responsibilities

• Responsibilities: - Donor Engagement: Cultivate and maintain relationships with donors, supporters, and potential donors through various channels such as email, phone calls, meetings, and events. - Grant Writing and Research: Identify potential grant opportunities, conduct research, and assist in the development and writing of grant proposals to secure funding for their programs and initiatives. - Fundraising Campaigns: Collaborate with the fundraising team to plan, execute, and evaluate fundraising campaigns and events, including online fundraisers, crowdfunding campaigns, and fundraising dinners. - Database Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records and fundraising databases, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality. - Communications: Assist in the creation of fundraising materials, including appeal letters, newsletters, and social media posts, to effectively communicate our mission and impact to donors and supporters. - Event Coordination: Provide logistical support for fundraising events, including venue selection, vendor coordination, volunteer management, and attendee outreach. - Donor Stewardship: Acknowledge and recognize donors for their contributions, including sending thank-you letters, organizing donor appreciation events, and providing regular updates on the impact of their support. - Collaboration: Work closely with the fundraising team and other team members within the organization to align fundraising strategies with overall organizational goals and priorities.
