The Elizabeth Fry Charity provides support to women, mostly on licence from prison, who have a range of complex needs. Through our work, we help women to begin to address the issues they face, improve their lives and reduce the likelihood of further involvement in the criminal justice system.

The Elizabeth Fry Charity provides a 25-bed Approved Premises in Reading, enabling women to access accommodation, support, and monitoring.

As the Charity continues to grow and develop its services, we are seeking to strengthen our Board by recruiting a Trustee with experience in property, estates, or facilities management.

Our future plans include the acquisition, adaptation and ongoing maintenance of additional properties, as well as renovation and improvement of existing premises. We are therefore particularly interested in individuals who can bring:

• Experience in property acquisition, development, or refurbishment
• Knowledge of building maintenance and compliance requirements
• Expertise in estates or facilities management
• Strategic insight into managing property assets within a charitable or regulated environment

Trustees, both individually and acting together as the Board, use their skills, knowledge, expertise, and contacts to govern the Charity, safeguard its assets and apply them as efficiently and effectively as possible to further its charitable objectives.

In this role, the Trustee with property expertise will support the Board and Senior Management Team in shaping and delivering our property strategy, ensuring that our accommodation is safe, sustainable, and fit for purpose as we expand.

We are interested in hearing from anyone who is passionate about the work we do and feels they can contribute to the success of the Charity.

The Board of Trustees meets five times annually at Elizabeth Fry House in Reading. Trustees are invited to participate in either our Finance or People and Safeguarding Committee, both of which meet four times a year. Additionally, Trustees conduct scheduled visits to the Approved Premises throughout the year.

Feltham Community Chaplaincy Trust (FCCT) are looking for volunteers to mentor young men aged 15-30 in HMP/YOI Feltham, up to 6 months prior to release and then up to 12 months in the community post-release. Therefore, we ask you for atleast 18 months commitment. 

You would meet with the client for 1-2 hours per week and expenses will be reimbursed. You will support the client with their needs in order to reduce their chance of reoffending. Their needs will likely revolve around education and employment support, mental health support, family/resettlement support, faith/religious support and also just to be a positive and encouraging role model for them.

The role is incredibly worthy, rewarding and may be challenging at times. You will be trained and fully supported throughout your valuable time with FCCT.

In this role you’ll gain experience of health and safety, as well as develop your organisation, admin and communication skills.

As a local group Finance Volunteer, you’ll make sure your group gets the most for their money. In this role you’ll be able to develop your financial and communication skills whilst working closely with other members of the group Coordinating Team.

The Company was founded in 1982 as a young people’s group. From 1982 to 1991, there was a Senior Company, but at present the Senior Company is on hold.   

The Advertised Position 

The role advertised is for one person to provide support to the Choreographer of the Junior Company.

The Company is primarily a “teaching” organisation, offering a high standard of teaching in speech, drama, music and dance. 

The Company meets on a Tuesday evening at Aylesford School, Warwick, for tuition and rehearsal sessions.  We also perform a musical at a local theatre, usually in April/May.  

Key Attributes required 

The Assistant Choreographer is primarily in a learning and support situation and will be developing their ability to coach and train young people of varying ability.  They must be flexible, and should be prepared to learn from, and assist the Production Team. Candidates must be prepared to undertake a DBS check (Spa Theatre Company will cover the cost of this) and complete safeguarding training. 

Duties 

The Assistant Choreographer will: 

A. report directly to the Choreographer; 

B. take their instructions from the Choreographer and where necessary the wider Production Team;  

C. demonstrate an ability to relate to all ages and to show enthusiasm and encouragement; 

D. help to ensure the safety and well-being of the children attending sessions.

We are seeking a Regional Assurance & Quality Lead to cover the Kent County. Would you be interested in helping St John Ambulance to provide high quality service in your local community? Could you actively promote and encourage consistent quality across all activities St John Ambulance delivers? If so, we need you. 

The Assurance & Quality team gathers information to evidence compliance with legislation, external regulatory requirements and SJA policies and processes. They work with colleagues across the charity to consistently monitor process and delivery against our agreed standards. At regional level, they are responsible for undertaking assurance and audit activities with the primary objective of producing evidence to support our ongoing regulatory compliance.

We are now looking to recruit a volunteer to manage the Assurance & Quality volunteer team in the region, providing clear guidance to enable the team to support their district teams and to actively promote Quality & Assurance good practice.
