Volunteer Charity Start-up Project Team for youth counselling and advice service
Role: Charity Startup Project Team (Voluntary)
Commitment: ~4–6 hours per week (Shared across the team / Highly Flexible)
Status: Conception to Launch Phase
The Mission
We have the vision and now we need the Engine.
YCAS (Youth Counselling and Advice Service) is a startup in its purest form. We are assembling a high-impact Project Team to work alongside our Founder and Trustees to handle the "heavy lifting" of the next 12 months. This isn't just about giving advice; it’s about doing the work that opens our doors to Ealing’s young people.
The "Launchpad" Agenda
As part of the Project Team, you will divide and conquer the critical milestones of a charity startup.
You will work on:
- The Foundation: Assisting the Board with Charity Commission registration and drafting our first governing documents.
- The Blueprint: Helping to build the "Service Model"—what does a typical day at YCAS look like? How do young people refer themselves?
- The Hub: Researching and scouting for a safe, accessible physical space in Ealing to call home.
- The Voice: Creating our initial "Launch Brand," social media presence, and local community outreach plans.
- The Safety Net: Helping the Safeguarding Trustee develop robust, youth-centered policies and procedures.
- The Fuel: Assisting with initial small-scale fundraising, grant research, and local business partnerships.
Who We’re Looking For
We are building a multidisciplinary team. You don't need to be an expert in everything; you just need to be an expert in getting things done.
We need:
- Organisers: People who love a spreadsheet and a "To-Do" list.
- Communicators: Creative writers or social media whizzes.
- Networkers: People who know Ealing and love talking to local partners.
- Problem-Solvers: Individuals who aren't phased by the "startup" hurdles of a new organisation.
Volunteer-Proofing: How We Work Together
- Modular Tasks: We won't dump a whole project on you. We break things into "bite-sized" missions that fit your schedule.
- The Power of the Pack: You’ll never work alone. You’ll be part of a supportive team that shares the load.
- Defined Launch Date: This role is focused on the conception-to-launch phase, giving you a clear sense of beginning, middle, and end.
What You’ll Gain
- Startup Pedigree: The rare experience of building a charity from a blank page.
- Skill Diversification: Experience in governance, operations, marketing, and fundraising.
- A Legacy: A seat at the table for the birth of a service that will support thousands of young people for years to come.
