Job description

We our looking to urgently hire a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) intern to join our team in the mission of raising awareness about neurodiversity and be a part of making an impact in the growing movement of neuroacceptance through their contributions. 

 

The Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) Intern will be well supported by the lead of projects and mentoring and co-founder of the charity and there will be opportunities for CPD in Neuordiversity and Adult Education Theory.

CONTRACT LENGTH: MAY 1st 2026 – APRIL 30th  2027 (Open to two further yearly contract extensions)

 

 

Responsibilities of the Job position

 

  • To attend online training sessions developing your own knowledge in neurodiversity and introduction to adult pedagogy (how adults learn).

 

  • To edit, update and design content for our new Virtual Learning Environment (Google Classroom) for our Neurodiversity Youth Advocate programmes.

 

  • To provide technical “on-call” support both for our staff and students for sessions in the Post-16 Reflective Practice & Advocacy Neurodiversity Youth Advocate Programme on MS Teams.

 

  • To lead and document debriefs for sessions of the Post-16 Reflective Practice & Advocacy Neurodiversity Youth Advocate Programme.

 

  • To develop and deliver a 30-minute Neurodiversity Awareness CPD Presentation for the biannual “Conference Day” training sessions which trains trustees and staff members.

 

Key responsibilities & objectives of the job:

 

· To work with the organisation on a remote flexi-time monthly basis to complete tasks (with assistance from our Projects and Mentoring Lead with task delegation and organising) which could include the following:

 

(i)          Training: Attend remote training events on Neurodiversity and/or Adult Education Theory during May, January, & February

 

(ii)         Google Classroom VLE Creation: Complete creation of material for the 2026-27 programme Term 2 & 3 component and 2027 Summer School using material from our old VLE (Moodle) in June, August, March and April.

 

(iii)       Technical “On-Call” Support: Provide technical support for students and staff for sessions in the Post-16 Neurodiversity Youth Advocate Programme in September, October, November, January and February.

 

(iv)       Debrief chairing: Chair and lead debriefs for some of the sessions of the post-16 Neurodiversity Youth Advocate Programme.

 

(v)        Conference Day Presentation Development: In March Develop a 30-minute training presentation on a specific topic in neurodiversity that will be delivered to Trustees, Staff and trainee Neurodiversity Youth Advocates in the charity.

 

(vi)       Conference Day Session Delivery: In April, deliver the presentation developed in March.
