We are looking for a volunteer with experience in UK accounting to join us at Unlock YOUR Potential in the volunteer role of TREASURER (Remote), where you will lead on the financial management and controls of Unlock YOUR Potential. 1. Monitor and safeguard charity funds, including being a key signatory of the charity bank accounts.

Are you seeking to use your organisational and administrative skills to help provide a better future for disadvantaged children? We’re looking for a new secretary to assist with the running of our small but highly effective charity which provides impoverished children from North East Ghana with the uniform and equipment needed for primary school.

You'll be responsible for the smooth and efficient running of General Meetings, meetings of the Executive Committee and any sub-committees; providing assistance and support to the chair of the board of trustees you'll also be responsible for monitoring the charities legal responsibilities and ensuring that trustees carry out all actions assigned to them by Executive Committee.

• The Secretary to the Executive Committee is also responsible for monitoring the charities legal responsibilities and ensuring that trustees carry out all actions assigned to them by Executive Committee.

Join our amazing volunteer team to raise awareness of sight loss and RNIB services at local events. You’ll be making a real difference to people living with sight loss by helping to create a world without barriers. This face to face opportunity will see you providing information about RNIB services and activities to help people with sight loss live the lives they want, enabling them to hear about the support that is available, and how they can help others. 

What you’ll be doing 

• Creating a welcoming and interesting display stand.

They have designed  a new, complimentary system that inherently protects nature, helps stabilise our global climate and can lift millions or billions out of poverty, all while providing value to GST holders. 

COMMUNITY MANAGER

• Building our community presence from scratch focusing on Twitter, Telegram and Discord; support manageing social media accounts, responding to comments, and fostering a positive community environment; monitor and report on growth and engagement metrics across our channels; and, work directly with both founders.
• Volunteer 4-6 hours per week for 3-5 months.

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, fast learning intern to join our growing team at Human Appeal; helping us to research projects, review HR reports, and complete qualtiy checks for our overseas offices to identify the support needs of our staff in the field who are delivering the projects on the ground.

Main tasks include:

• Provide generalist support for the entire recruitment cycle including but not limited to; interview bookings, JD/JP drafting, advertisements, longlisting, coordination with managers or candidates, reference checks, etc.
• Support HR L&D initiatives including orientations, trainings, workshops etc.
• Ensure proper HR file documentation and file management to audit standards.
• Conducting HR quality checks via routine spot checks and maintain HR trackers.
• Compiling HR exec summaries or reports.
• Undertaking research projects and supporting HR project implementation when requested.

Knowledge/Experience/Skills required:

• Ideally studying towards or completed a Bachelors degree, preferably in HR.
• A good understanding of humanitarian relief
• Effective written and oral communication skills in English and Arabic a bonus.
• Basic IT Skills (Excel, Outlook, Office 365, One drive, TEAMs)
• Ability to work well in a diverse virtual team

Being a Trustee for the CGD Society means you will use your skills and experience to support our charity, ensure we are achieving our aims and we are working towards our goals and mission. All Trustees are jointly responsible for any decisions made as well as defining and overseeing our strategy.

You will work closely with our dedicated staff to ensure the organisation operates effectively, efficiently and economically, with a culture that is positive, and focused on the needs of those it serves. 

As well as attending Board meetings, Trustees are encouraged to join a subcommittee and use their skills to assist our staff and maximise effort in a specific area. Our current subcommittees cover Governance, Finance, Fundraising, Community and Medical. 

About You 

We are seeking individuals who are collaborative, self-motivated and passionate about work that makes a difference. Those seeking a new challenge and enjoy innovative problem-solving will flourish in this role.

Our Trustees bring a range of skills and expertise to the charity. Right now, we are ideally seeking individuals with the following backgrounds: 

• Lived experience with CGD. 

• Legal expertise, preferably within a charitable context, to provide essential guidance. 

• Fundraising proficiency, including successful grant application and grant writing abilities, to enhance income diversification. 

• Proficiency in Information Technology, digital platforms, and digital marketing 

• Representation from the healthcare sector to enrich our understanding of healthcare delivery in the UK. 

• Brand development skills to maximize the utilization of our assets. 

Whilst these skills are desirable, we would like to hear from anyone who is interested in this role. A successful Trustee will be able to draw on a diverse range of technical and soft skills as well as their knowledge and passion.
