About the National Emergencies Trust
Founded in 2019, the National Emergencies Trust is an independent charity that supports those affected by UK disasters. When a national emergency arises, we act fast to raise funds for those impacted to help with their physical, psychological, and practical needs. Our first appeal, the Coronavirus Appeal raised £100 million for those affected by the pandemic.
Outside of emergencies, we work closely with those affected by past disasters to understand the historic challenges they have faced and take action to improve outcomes for future survivors and their loved ones. Through our listening approach, we have evolved our funding model, secured two changes to UK legislation to date and created unique insights that are informing the work of Government, our charity sector peers and wider response and resilience stakeholders. We are proud to be supported by our major corporate patrons, as well as our Royal Patron, HRH The Prince of Wales.

Project 1 – Small Projects Review - ATMS International have supported and funded numerous MSHT projects whereby the value of these projects can range anywhere from £1,000 to £350,000. However, within the past five years, there has been a growing number of small projects (maximum value of £15,000 and usually a yearlong) that ATMS International have funded. As such, we would like to explore the success factors of IGAs and explore different models of vocational training and what works well. This research will be desk-based and will include support in conducting lit review, developing the research questions, methodology, collecting data, analysing findings, and writing the report.
Location: Remote, but with weekly supervision
Accountable to: International Projects Advisor

• Interview key TSA personnel & external organisations
• Collect both primary and secondary data

• Full support and welcome as part of the International team for the duration of the project
• Valuable development experience for use on CV’s and future career option

At Staying Well we run a Telephone Befriending Scheme.
If you have up to an hour free once a week for 6 months then this could be the volunteer role for you!
This is what the Befriending Network say about befriending:
“Everyone needs other people, but not everyone has someone.
Befriending offers supportive, reliable relationships through volunteer befrienders to people who would otherwise be socially isolated. Around the UK, there are befriending projects which organise effective support for children and young people, families, people with mental ill-health, people with learning disabilities and older people, amongst many others.
The results of befriending can be very significant. Befriending often provides people with a new direction in life, opens up a range of activities and leads to increased self-esteem and self confidence. Befriending can also reduce the burden on other services which people may use inappropriately as they seek social contact.”
