Trustees, Prospect Hospice
Prospect Hospice seeks new trustees with expertise in fundraising, commercial or clinical leadership. Help shape compassionate end-of-life care in Swindon and Wiltshire. Use your skills to make a lasting community impact.
What will you be doing?
Our Board provides strategic leadership and oversight, supporting Prospect Hospice through an exciting and challenging period of change in the hospice sector. We’re focusing on ensuring our long-term sustainability, strengthening governance, and developing innovative ways to meet growing community need.
We are seeking up to four new trustees to bring fresh perspectives and professional expertise in areas including fundraising, commercial or clinical leadership. Trustees contribute to quarterly Board meetings and join one of our subcommittees—such as Finance & Income, People, or Clinical Governance—helping to guide decisions that have a direct impact on patient care and our workforce.
This is an opportunity to play a crucial role in shaping the future of a highly respected local charity that supports people at the most important time of their lives. You’ll help steer strategic initiatives that enhance care quality, strengthen partnerships, and build financial resilience.
Our Board is made up of experienced professionals from a range of sectors who share a deep commitment to our community and to ensuring that everyone can live and die well. We work closely with the Executive Team in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Joining us now means influencing our next chapter—helping Prospect Hospice adapt, innovate, and continue delivering outstanding end-of-life care across Swindon and north Wiltshire.
What are we looking for?
We’re looking for people who share our values and passion for making a real difference in their community. You’ll be a strategic thinker with the confidence to challenge and support in equal measure, able to see the bigger picture while staying grounded in our purpose.
You don’t need to have been a trustee before—what matters most is your professional expertise, enthusiasm, and commitment to helping us deliver our vision of a community where everyone has the right to live and die well.
We’re particularly keen to hear from people with experience in fundraising, commercial or clinical leadership.
You’ll bring sound judgement, integrity, and a collaborative approach, and you’ll be comfortable contributing to Board discussions and subcommittee work. Lived experience of hospice care, palliative care, or supporting loved ones with life-limiting illness would also be valuable, helping to ensure our work remains compassionate and person-centred.
Above all, you’ll be motivated by the opportunity to use your skills to strengthen a much-loved local charity and make a lasting difference for people at the end of life.
What difference will you make?
As a trustee, you’ll play a vital role in helping Prospect Hospice navigate the challenges facing the hospice sector and ensure we remain sustainable and resilient for the future. Your insight and guidance will directly influence how we deliver outstanding end-of-life care and support for people across Swindon and north Wiltshire.
You’ll help shape strategic decisions that strengthen our clinical services, grow our income, and enhance the experience of our patients, their families, staff, and volunteers. By contributing your professional expertise, you’ll support the Board and Executive Team to innovate, manage risk, and seize opportunities to extend our reach and impact.
Ultimately, your role will help ensure that more local people can live and die well—receiving the compassionate, high-quality care they deserve.
