Ranger Cadets is building a new generation of confident, resilient, community‑minded young people — and we are seeking exceptional leaders to help guide this mission from the front.
As a uniformed Area Officer, you will hold a pivotal leadership role within our organisation. Wearing the rank of three pips, you will oversee, support, and strengthen a group of Ranger Cadet units across the London area — ensuring high standards, operational excellence, and a culture of pride and purpose.
This is more than a volunteer role. It is a call to leadership.
THE ROLE: AREA OFFICER (OPERATIONS MANAGER / AREA MANAGER)
Area Officers are the backbone of our operational structure. They ensure that every unit under their care is safe, supported, well‑led, and delivering the Ranger Cadets mission with integrity and impact.
As an Area Officer, you will:

Provide leadership, guidance, and support to Unit Leaders and their teams.

Oversee the performance, standards, and wellbeing of multiple cadet units.

Ensure training, safeguarding, and operational procedures are followed.

Help build a culture of excellence, pride, and ceremonial identity.

Support the rollout of new programmes, events, and community initiatives.

Mentor volunteers and help develop future leaders.

Represent Ranger Cadets at area‑level meetings, events, and parades.

Uphold the values, discipline, and dignity of the uniformed organisation.
You will play a vital role in shaping the experience of both volunteers and young people, ensuring every unit thrives and every cadet has the chance to grow.
