Role
As a restaurant volunteer, you will be at the heart of our hospice team, dealing with all the food preparation, delivered and meal preparation of meals for our staff and patience within the Hospice.
Some key traits you will need as a Restaurant Volunteer:

Barley Mow Village Hall relies almost completely upon the hard work, commitment and goodwill of people who give up some of their time to volunteer.
We have a small fine team but desperately need more folk willing to help out.
We are particularly looking for people who can provide help in the kitchen to help expand our Warm Spaces (free food & a warm space to anyone who needs it).
This happens twice a week on a Monday & a Wednesday.
So if you can cook – preferably hold a Level 1 or 2 in Food Hygiene, can serve coffee, bacon butties and the like, then please do get in touch.
We are a friendly bunch and you will get much enjoyment from working in the fast paced centre.
You could help us grow our existing provision and also help develop new ideas and initiatives.

The aim of Birthlink is to enhance the well-being and promote the welfare of all people affected by adoption with a Scottish connection. We need to fundraise to enable us to extend our services and help more people.
One of the avenues of generating income is to sell clothing online. We are looking for a volunteer who would be able to identify vintage or other pre-loved clothing that would sell on Vinted and eBay. Take photographs of the items and posting them online, using the camera on your phone.
Location: Birthlink Thrift Shop, 6 Bruntsfield Place, Edinburgh EH10 4HN
Hours: To fit in with your schedule. We are open Monday – Saturday. We ask for a commitment of 3 hours per week.
Skills and abilities needed:
- Knows fashion brands
- Enjoys putting together pre-loved outfits for photo shoots
- Flair for fashion
- Experience with posting on Vinted and/or eBay.
