Our Leicester services would love to have some Volunteers join our team. We are looking for Activities Assistant volunteers to provide fun and interesting sessions for our service users. The sessions can be arts and crafts, music lessons, or board games. Our service users will be involved in deciding the types of activity sessions we hold, and you will be helping us to provide opportunities for people to relax, try new activities, to meet new people and much more. We are looking for people with enthusiasm, willing to try new things, the ability to be patient and show empathy, and to provide non-judgemental support.
We support our volunteers with an Induction, training for the role, a named volunteer supervisor, a monthly newsletter and a monthly online peer support group.

The Creative Support Disco in Stockton is a popular weekly social night for adults with support needs.
We are looking for Volunteers to help us at the weekly Stockton disco held at The Oxbridge. We would like support with selling tickets on the door, running the tuck shop, handing out the refreshments, and helping to set up the room.
The disco has a core group of service users who help out on the night, your role will be to support the service users in completing activities, and helping Creative Support staff to make sure the event runs smoothly.
To support you in your role you will be offered training and regular supervisions with an assigned volunteer supervisor.
Volunteer Duties:
· Help with duties on the night including setting up tables and chairs.
· Selling tickets on the door
· Helping run the tuck shop and handing out refreshments
· To follow Health and Safety guidelines and alert staff to any concerns.
Suggested Time Commitment: Tuesday 6:30pm till 9pm

Our service users love to go out walking and we’d like to set up a weekly walking group. We are looking for a volunteer to act as leader for the group and map out interesting local routes to enjoy some fresh air around the parks of Hinckley and the surrounding area.
As part of your role you will plan the route of the walk, ensuring comfort breaks are included. Make sure that the walk is accessible for all by adapting the pace when necessary so that all participants enjoy the walk and are able to join in. Include health and safety and risk assessments in your planning. You will also help to promote the walking group to service users by encouraging people to attend, and motivating people to attend.

Windsor Court is a supported living service for adults with learning disabilities. The service is in Crowle, a rural location, and would suit applicants who live locally.
We are looking for a sessional Arts volunteer who can deliver weekly art sessions to our residents. We love a game of bingo here at Creative Support, but one thing is missing….You! We are looking for a confident volunteer who can deliver a fun bingo session for our Service Users on a weekly basis.
Your role will include making sure everyone has a bingo cards and markers in time for the game to begin. You will have the confidence to stand up in front of the room and call out the numbers, check the winning cards, and clear away at the end of the session. The Scunthorpe office is located close to the train station. We support adults with Learning Disabilities and Mental Health in our services around Scunthorpe.
We are setting up a fortnightly coffee morning at our office in Scunthorpe to be attended by our Services Users. We’re looking for volunteers to help our staff set up and run the coffee morning and help tidy away at the end of the session. As part of your role you will take direction from staff and set up the room, moving tables and chairs and making sure the space is accessible for wheelchair users.
During the coffee morning you will circulate and chat to our Service Users making sure that people are having fun, and that the music is playing. Prepare and hand out the tea and coffee. When the event has finished you will move the tables and chairs back to their original place, and help staff to wash up making sure that all of the items are tidied away.

Do you love to support and empower people? We are looking for compassionate champions to join our volunteer mentoring programme. Help mentees build confidence, get established in community and develop independence. The Build mentoring programme supports survivors of modern slavery. A volunteer mentor is paired with a co mentor meeting fortnightly in the community with a mentee; being a friendly support, setting goals, exploring opportunities and life skills. All volunteer mentors are supported and accountable to the Build Coordinators. This role is voluntary and unpaid (costs incurred for refreshments related to the mentor role will be reimbursed).
The Role
- To create a safe, compassionate, and healthy mentoring relationship
- Provide the mentee with tools and techniques to navigate a pathway to achieve things that are important to them
- Provide practical support to the mentee where appropriate (eg signposting)
- Support a mentee to identify and establish goals and life skills that are important to them
- Liaise with the mentee and fellow mentor to arrange safe and suitable meeting places including date and time
- Debrief with your co-mentor after each meeting and provide a brief written record of the discussion for the Mentoring Coordinator
- Work with your co-mentor to model ‘healthy community’
- Manage the trio’s refreshment expenses for reimbursement

What you will get from us

- Ongoing support sessions from the Build team
- Ongoing training with an emphasis on trauma informed practice Commitment
- 12-month commitment period
- Meet with mentee and co-mentor fortnightly for 1-2 hours
- Commitment to write up debriefs and any relevant actions between meetups
- To able to complete all required training
- To be able to attend a minimum of 4 training sessions per year
All roles within the mentoring programme need:
- Mandatory checks including DBS
- Two satisfactory references
- Completion of induction training
- An informal interview and introductory period

The service supports adults with a wide variety of needs including Over 18s, Mental Health needs, Older People, Learning Disabilities and Autism. Our service users live in self-contained apartments and have access to several communal spaces, including a restaurant, a hairdressers and a spa.
We are currently looking for volunteer befrienders at our Cecil Garden service in Hull, if you have a couple of hours to spare and can commit to volunteering on a regular basis, we’d love to hear from you.
Are you a warm and chatty person, who’s also a good listener? We are looking for befrienders who can help someone gain confidence and engage with the local community. Maybe going for walks, trips to a local café, or, supporting somebody to attend their appointments.
Our volunteer befrienders will also encourage people to connect to our internal community here at our service, which includes a wide variety of activity sessions held in several communal spaces on site. As part of our Wellbeing service we are hoping to build a community amongst our Service Users and you will visit service users in their flats and encourage people to join in our activities and take part in events held here.

The service supports adults with a wide variety of needs including Over 18s, Mental Health needs, Older People, Learning Disabilities and Autism. Our service users live in self-contained apartments and have access to several communal spaces, including a restaurant, a hairdressers and a spa.
We are looking for several volunteers to assist with our activities. We have a large service close to the city centre in Hull. Our housing provider organises a wide range of group activities presently which you could assist with. This role would include helping to set up the room, moving tables and chairs if necessary, making sure that all of the materials and equipment are ready for the session to begin. Assist with the activity when needed, providing clear instructions. Tidy away the materials and equipment at the end of the session, ensuring that the room has been returned to its original setting.
We are also looking for volunteers to set up and run new activity sessions in the evenings and weekends, when there are currently no provisions. The activities can be anything from art and crafts, board games, cooking groups, bingo, walking groups, Digital skills, film groups, and many more. Your role will include promoting the group to our service users, planning and preparing for the activity making sure the materials and equipment are ready, providing clear instructions and assisting with the activity when needed, and tidying away at the end of the session.
