Help shape the future of a local charity that has been supporting adults with learning disabilities for over 40 years.

The Orpington and Bromley Gateway Club (ORB) is looking for a committed and enthusiastic volunteer trustee to join our Board and help us continue developing opportunities for adults with learning disabilities across Bromley and Orpington.

We run a range of social, recreational and training activities, including our popular Friday Club, The Scadbury Centre in Chislehurst (horticulture), sports, dance and community events.

Working alongside our existing trustees and CEO, you will help guide the charity's strategic direction, oversee good governance and ensure our members remain at the heart of our decisions.

We are particularly looking for someone who has:

• Experience or understanding of supporting adults with learning disabilities, professionally, voluntarily or as a family carer.

• A commitment to inclusion, safeguarding and improving people's lives.

Experience in social care, education, fundraising, finance or volunteer management would also be welcome.

Time commitment: Approximately three hours per month, plus an annual strategy day and occasional visits to our activities. This is an unpaid voluntary role, with reasonable expenses reimbursed.

You will need to be able to attend meetings and activities in and around the London Borough of Bromley.
