Could you help shape the future of a Sheffield charity that has supported more than 10,000 young people?

Element Society is looking for new trustees to join our Board as we enter the next stage of our development. This is an opportunity to bring your experience and perspective to a charity working directly with young people across Sheffield through youth work, education, alternative provision, outreach, wellbeing and social action.

We are growing our Board to around six to eight trustees and are particularly interested in people with experience in finance and risk, governance or legal, youth work or social care, income generation, people and culture, or education.

You do not need to have been a trustee before. We welcome first time trustees as well as those with previous Board experience. What matters is that you care about opportunities for young people, can contribute your experience and are willing to ask questions and help us make good decisions.

Trustees help shape Element's strategic direction, provide constructive challenge and support to our senior team, and help us consider opportunities and risks as the charity develops.

The expected commitment is around 1.5 days per quarter. This includes quarterly Board meetings, our AGM and an annual strategy day, generally held at our Sheffield city centre office. Trustees are also welcome to get more involved in our work and events if they would like to.
