Chronically Marvellous is growing quickly, and we need confident, empathetic group leaders to host support sessions for our service users. We now have more individuals who need our help and support, so we'd like to offer more online sessions.
What will you be doing?
Leading support sessions: For many of our service users, our weekly support sessions are a lifeline, as well as an opportunity to socialise, speak any worries they have, and generally have a safe space to talk freely about their illness. You will host each session online, ensuring that individuals have a chance to speak, encouraging people to share their stories and allowing for group discussion.
Safeguarding: Our sessions will mostly be a way to let our service users come together, but there may be times that you notice something not quite right. It could be the welfare of the individual, something in their surroundings, or another person in the background/they mention in conversation. It is up to you to flag these incidents to senior staff so that we may investigate.
Have fun and show passion for CM: You'll understand why Chronically Marvellous exists, and why the work that we do is important to so many people. You will be able to portray this in the sessions you host, and be able to show our service users that they are in a safe space. We're all here for the same reason, we should have fun and enjoy being here!

With the growth of Chronically Marvellous, we need more volunteers to operate our helpline, to give support and help to our community.
What will you be doing?
Our Helpline volunteers will work in shifts to ensure that our helpline is always staffed for our community.
Are you able to listen with empathy, understanding and without judgement? If so, you could play an important role as a volunteer for the Chronically Marvellous community. We are always in need of dedicated volunteers to join our growing service, to provide an ear to those who feel isolated and in need of support.
Our Helpline offers support to people in many ways: through signposting to other services, by offering a friendly chat at any time of day, for example. It is a crucial service and is often the first point of contact for people with chronic illnesses who need support.
The role will include:
Being the first point of contact for incoming calls, handling the calls sensitively and professionally
Being empathetic, non-judgemental and offering a friendly listening ear
Signposting to other relevant trusted services if appropriate, or noting down a need so that we can assess them for our services
Ensuring that relevant data is recorded after each call
Escalating any concerns via the appropriate channels and seek support when needed.
You will receive training and ongoing support in this role.

What are we looking for?
We are looking for people with a willingness to listen with empathy, understanding and without judgement. You will be acting as a first point of contact and it is important that calls are handled in a way that respects the individual.
You need to have:
Experience in a customer service role/volunteer work as a befriender/other similar experience
Excellent communication and active listening skills
Empathy and sensitivity for people with chronic illnesses
Be able to commit for around 5 hours per week
What difference will you make?
Having a staffed Helpline will ensure that our community always have someone to talk to, giving them more independence and empowering them to improve their overall quality of life.

Chronically Marvellous has grown quickly in the last 6 months, and our Founder Tash needs an administration expert to handle our office tasks.
The Administrator/Secretary will work closely with Tash, managing all behind-the-scenes paperwork and organisation. They will often be working remotely, but location close to Twickenham would be an advantage for visits to head office.
What will you be doing?
Issuing Mobility Aids: You will be keeping accurate records of our inventory, who is assigned stock, and responsible for ensuring that we replace stock when needed.
Customer service: You will be one of the contacts for our service users, whether this be for enquiries, for information about events, or to help with philanthropy.
Governance: We are a CIC with the potential to convert to a CIO, so paperwork within this role may be used to support our application (along with the CEO and trustees support).
Events: You will help us to plan events in the area, including our regular support groups, as well as our one-off fun days and training events.
Secretary: You will be the right-hand-person to Tash, who comes up with brilliant, ambitious ideas 24/7 (sometimes too ambitious!) so you would support her in this, as well as being a voice of reason!
The organisation keeps growing and adapting as we learn what our community needs as well as what we can provide, so this role will inevitably grow and adapt too. We would love to have some on join us who has initiative and can take ownership of certain tasks so that Tash can delegate some from her role.

Who are we looking for?
Organisation: You will be a very organised person, who can make order out of chaos! At the moment, our records are in good shape, and we would love to keep them that way. We'd love a reliable person who we know will ensure the integrity of the administration side of the organisation, and someone with initiative to say when a process isn't working.
Administration: You will have experience in a supporting administrative role, where you know what to expecting working in an office environment, as well as remotely. Our organisation's staff and volunteers are mostly in London, as well as across the UK and abroad, so being able to liaise in various formats will help you in this role.
Secretarial acumen: You will work very closely with Tash, who's mind runs about 100mph on most days. There will be ad-hoc tasks required, but within the remit of an administrator.
Fundraising: This role is not a fundraising one, however, every person involved with Chronically Marvellous is expected to assist with fundraising in some way. This could mean sharing social media posts for crowdfunding, attending our fundraising events and helping out, or by directly helping our fundraising team, if that's something you are interested in.
This is a voluntary position, so we recognise that any time given to us by a volunteer is precious, and for that we are incredibly grateful.

Firstly, this role will greatly help our Founder to have less weight on her shoulders, so that she can focus on partnerships and truly getting to know the community. The Maia Service works with young women and girls living in Newham, Tower Hamlets, Hackney, Camden, Islington and Westminster. We enable young women and girls to escape harm and to thrive in their lives and aspirations. We support young women and girls to build confidence, self-esteem and resilience, manage their health and wellbeing, and access and engage with other support services. The support we provide is delivered through a range of activities, including 1-2-1 advocacy and a programme of group-work and workshops delivered by specially trained members of staff.
About You:
Advance recognises that women and girls’ journeys to recovery after experiencing trauma are not always linear. Working closely with our trained team of experts, advice line volunteers will offer callers reliable information, friendly support, and useful signposting. Volunteers would need to be available for approximately 2 hours on a regular basis each week, during either our daytime (9am to 4pm) sessions or evening (4pm – 10pm) sessions. After a period of training, this role can be carried out from home or from our Northampton refuge.
Please note that this is a new voluntary role within NDAS and as such it will change and evolve whilst it is being developed and put into practice.
NDAS envisages the following as a guide.
You will be:
- Committed to supporting callers facing domestic abuse situations.
- Responsive and sensitive to the disclosure of domestic abuse and mindful of issues relating to risk, confidentiality, and information sharing.
- Mindful of boundaries after disclosure; working with systems and processes internally and externally whilst understanding the limitations of the role.
- Able to sensitively gain information from callers and be able to follow the provided procedures for handling calls.
- Able to relay information clearly and concisely whilst using our case management software.
You will NOT:
- Be responsible for DA cases or concerns.
- Be expected to be a ‘specialist’ in this field. Instead, you will be supporting the existing team and taking details from callers for our specialists to then contact.
- Be left without support – trained members of staff are on hand to always offer advice and support.
What we’re looking for:
- An excellent telephone manner is essential as is high level of computer literacy.
- You must have a genuine desire to help people.
- The ability to work calmly in a pressured situation.
- You will need to be patient, empathetic and non-judgemental.
- You will be discreet with the information that’s shared with you.
- You will be accepting and won’t discriminate against anyone, for any reason.
At NDAS we welcome applications from a wide range of applicants.
There are no pre-requisites for this role and we don’t expect you to be an expert in domestic abuse to volunteer with us. Extensive training will be provided before you begin your volunteer role, along with ongoing, regular support. However, knowledge, understanding or experience that complements the role is always beneficial – be sure to include this in your application, as there is often strong competition for our roles.
We would appreciate any time you are able to offer. If you can commit to regular hours (such as 2-3 hours per week) we would be delighted to discuss ongoing projects that might interest you. As it takes an amount of time and resource to welcome new volunteers on board, we would appreciate it if you pledged to support us initially for a minimum of 6 months.

Telea's solution is a comprehensive digital health platform designed to revolutionize speech therapy services. It enables seamless communication and interaction between speech therapists and their clients, facilitating remote delivery of therapy exercises and monitoring of client progress. The platform consists of two main components: a patient app and a therapist web app.
The patient app allows clients to access therapy exercises and activities from the comfort of their own homes using their mobile devices or tablets. These exercises are personalized to each client's specific needs and therapy goals. Clients can receive real-time feedback and guidance as they complete their exercises, fostering engagement and motivation throughout their therapy journey.
On the other hand, the therapist web app provides speech therapists with a centralized platform to manage their caseload and interact with their clients. Therapists can create customized therapy plans, track client progress, and adjust interventions as needed. They can also conduct virtual therapy sessions and remotely monitor client performance, optimizing therapy delivery and maximizing therapist efficiency. Telea is looking to highlight and bring to life the stories of people living with Parkinsons. They are looking to create a series of short interviews with people who are living with Parkinson's and share their stories and journeys to raise awareness. Parkinson's is the fastest-growing neurodegenerative disease, and 1 in 5 people get diagnosed - They want to make sure that awareness is raised around this condition with the general public and make sure their stories are never forgotten. If this sounds like a role you would like to be part of, They are looking for somebody with some editing experience and videography skills. They would like to do a few interviews. You will need to be based in Ireland, ideally in the South (They are based in Cork).

What we’re looking for
We’re looking for people to join our Board with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

Finance – you might be a qualified accountant and have a background in finance and audit so that you can provide vital skills to help the Board oversee our financial management. An understanding of charity accounts and regulations would absolutely be an advantage.

Marketing & Communications – we want to reach new audiences to ensure a diverse and inclusive approach, and we are aiming to do that at scale. You may have experience of providing strategic support for increasing our reach and visibility.

Marine Conservation - you might have environmental knowledge, ideally on the marine environment, with policy and/or practical experience of conservation. A network of contacts across the marine sector, particularly with business or government, would be an advantage.
What you can bring to our Board can be just as interesting as where you’ve been working. You do not need to have previous charity trustee experience, but you will need to be comfortable participating at a senior level with complex discussions and the need to be comfortable making pragmatic but key decisions.

As a Trustee, you’ll develop your personal and professional knowledge, work on strategy and develop an approach to managing risk and broaden your influencing and negotiation skills in a new context.
You’ll also gain insight and knowledge from your fellow Trustees, with everyone’s skills being recognised and valued.
Trustees are volunteers, so the role is not paid but we will cover your costs for travelling and any overnight stays to attend meetings or events.
