The Role
As a GLD participant, you'll engage in four hours of local on-site tasks in addition to four hours per day as a member of various International Online Teams. Your local tasks may include, but are not limited to:

Essential Requirements

Eligibility
The program calls for a college diploma or university degree and a minimum commitment of four months, although we encourage volunteers to stay for up to one year. All volunteers enjoy one day off per week and a four-day holiday per month.

A bit about this role
At Cats Protection we help thousands of cats and kittens each year thanks to our dedicated and passionate volunteer groups. We have over 250 branches across the UK, all of which help our feline friends in different ways. Branches take in stray and abandoned cats and ensure they receive the veterinary care and attention they deserve, help raise funds, promote neutering and help spread cat welfare messages. Our branch team leader volunteers lead their local team by supporting and managing volunteers within their group, maintaining communications with both volunteers and staff, and helping promote a positive and professional image of Cats Protection.

We are looking for a Volunteer Van assistant to support our van team in our Furniture Now! Eastbourne store. This role will enable us to support our existing van team and run the van on extra days of the week and maximise the opportunity for furniture collection/deliveries for our charity. We are a donation-based furniture store charity, and donations are vital to the running of our operations. Helping us with the van would help us fulfil our mission and make a big difference!
There will always be a van driver with you, and sometimes a second van assistant as well. Full induction and training are provided ; such as Manual handling (and some of which you can add to your CV!).
By joining us, you will become part of the Furniture Now! Eastbourne store team which is made up of a Shop Manager, Assistant Manager, van driver, and van assistants as well as volunteers. Free hot beverages and biscuits are always available on-site and you will be able to join our team events!
Shift patterns

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Kempton Great Engines Trust as we embark on an ambitious programme to showcase Kempton’s vital role in supplying much of London’s water.
Kempton Great Engines Trust is the governing body for Kempton Steam Museum, the home of the world’s largest working triple-expansion steam engine. The Trust supports day-to-day operations and drives the ongoing development of the museum as a successful and sustainable visitor attraction.
We have plans to expand the museum’s activities with new facilities for visitors and volunteers and the new Treasurer will play a vital role in shaping the approach to financial management in support of these new developments. You will chair the Finance Committee and attend Trustee Meetings, which are normally held every other month on a Tuesday evening at the museum in South West London.
The Treasurer oversees the financial operations of the organisation, working closely with the Bookkeeper. You will also ensure that legal and regulatory requirements are met in conjunction with the Company Secretary and Chair.
We are looking for someone who has the experience to advise the other trustees on financial matters, take a strategic approach to financial forward planning, produce an annual budget and management accounts and play an active part in the decision making of the board of trustees. A qualification in accountancy or equivalent senior level experience in financial management is required and experience of charities and governance would be advantageous.

Gain fantastic transferable experience and build your advocacy skills in this flexible and rewarding role. You will be working directly with THL UK staff members who will steward and support you throughout your time with us. You will also have access to exclusive training opportunities to further your animal advocacy development, as well as a full onboarding process to get you started.
Our team is based all over the UK, so we’re set up to provide you with a great experience no matter where you’re based. We cover expenses to join us at in-person events, so you can be based anywhere and still get involved. No prior experience is required, we’ll give you everything you need. There is no set time commitment, but roughly 2-4 hours a month is average for this role, depending on how much you choose to get involved with.

Overview: As a Volunteer Senior Fundraiser for our women's menstrual health charity in Malawi, dedicated to ending period poverty, you will play a vital role in supporting our mission to improve access to menstrual health products, education, and support for women and girls in Malawi. By leading fundraising efforts, you will directly contribute to expanding our programs, reaching more individuals, and making a meaningful impact on menstrual health equity in Malawi.
Responsibilities:

Fundraising Strategy Development: Collaborate with the executive team to develop a comprehensive fundraising strategy tailored to the context and needs of Malawi. Identify and prioritise fundraising opportunities, campaigns, and initiatives to achieve fundraising goals.

Donor Cultivation and Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with individual donors, local businesses, philanthropic organisations, and other potential supporters in the UK and Malawi. Develop personalized cultivation strategies to engage donors, communicate impact, and solicit contributions.

Grant Research and Proposal Writing: Conduct research to identify grant opportunities from local and international foundations, NGOs, and government agencies. Prepare high-quality grant proposals and applications, adhering to funder guidelines and deadlines.

Community Outreach and Awareness: Raise awareness about menstrual health issues and our organisation's work by supporting local women in community outreach activities, including workshops, presentations, and networking events in order to amplify our message and reach underserved populations.

Online Fundraising Campaigns: Plan and execute online fundraising campaigns using digital platforms and social media channels. Develop compelling campaign content, appeals, and engagement strategies to attract donors and mobilise support from a wider audience.
Qualifications:
- Passion for women's health, menstrual equity, and social impact in Malawi.
- Previous experience in fundraising, development, or related fields preferred.
- Strong communication skills in English
- Knowledge of the local philanthropic landscape, fundraising regulations, and cultural sensitivities in Malawi.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet fundraising targets within a flexible schedule.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, fundraising software, and online platforms.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion principles in fundraising practices.
