Loneliness is one of the quietest challenges of our time, but at SUNSHINE, we believe in the power of people coming together to change that story — to break through the clouds with beautiful rays of warmth, belonging, and hope.

SUNSHINE is a brand new loneliness and wellbeing charity with a simple but powerful mission: to bring people together, spread joy, nurture community spirit, and create spaces where everyone feels seen, valued, and connected.

With our charity application submitted, our dedicated Board of Trustees in place, and a series of exciting pilot programmes ready to launch, we are stepping into a defining moment — and we’re looking for someone extraordinary to step in with us.

Could you be our first ever Community Engagement & Participation Officer?

This is a rare and meaningful opportunity to help shape a charity from the ground up by building the relationships, partnerships, and community presence that will bring SUNSHINE to life.

We’re searching for a volunteer who brings:

• Confidence in engaging local groups, residents, and partners.

• Creativity in designing activities that encourage participation.

As our inaugural Community Engagement & Participation Officer, you will help us reach people who need us, invite them into our programmes, and ensure their voices shape the future of SUNSHINE. You will be the bridge between our charity and the communities we serve.

What you’ll help us build

• Strong relationships with local residents, groups, and community partners.

• Outreach activities that raise awareness of SUNSHINE’s mission.

• Participation pathways that make joining our programmes easy and welcoming.

• Community-led ideas that shape our services and events.

• A culture where people feel ownership, belonging, and pride.

• A movement that grows across London and beyond.
